I liked this place. This is located by Henry's Lake at the edge of the city limit for Island Park ID. It's not like going to a hotel resort, nothing fancy or too modern, it's quiet and remote. They have different options for accommodations (tent, RV park, lodge, and cabins). I love the outdoors but I need a bed and access to a shower. We stayed at the "condominium" for a group of 5 adults and 3 kids. It is a cabin with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms downstairs and a loft area upstairs. Beds are nothing fancy, not new but clean. Downsides to be aware with this rental is that there is no kitchenware provided so you do need to bring your own which is a possible con for travelers flying out of state to visit Yellowstone. You need a car to get around. I also thought the fridge was not keeping things cool enough so we put some things in the freezer. Other than that the cabin was clean and no issues with rodents inside the rental (common with cabin rentals in middle of no where). We spent most of our time at Yellowstone NP. We also saw a moose our first night at the ranch! We went in the fall and the leaves are beautiful by the resort. They were bursting with yellow and orange colors!! I wish I could post more pics but Yelp has 10 pic limit. The location cannot be beat for a Yellowstone trip. West Yellowstone is a 20 min drive so it's easy to go grab anything you forgot to bring from home or go out to eat there. There is also Wi-Fi at this resort. I will consider staying here again next time I visit Yellowstone NP. read more

BOOK ONLY IF THIS IS YOUR LAST RESORT. KOA is much much better down the road. This review is for my RV campsite experience. You can read other reviews for lodging... it is as bad. This place is a rundown place. Poorly managed. Looks like the owner stopped improving and investing in this place. There are hundreds of bugs and mosquitos (literally) flying around outside your RV. See photos of bugs hanging on my mirror and windows. For RV hookups, they are providing the minimum. Some of the RV space will need a super long hose for your gray / black water hookup. Another horrible thing is the site where you parked your RV is not level, at the end of your day, you can't even fully dump your gray / black water. They charge you even more than KOA with such a crappy facility. I think they should REFUND me half the price. read more

Being in a bind and needing accommodations for a few nights, we found Wild Rose Ranch. When we arrived, we were greeted by Kevin. He graciously listened to our story and predicament, happily walked us around the property, showed us a couple room options, and got us quickly setup. Although their restaurant was not open for the season yet, he gave us some great recommendations for nearby spots, including some points of interest we would have never known of or gone to, and they were all worth the drives. All of the employees we encountered were accommodating and nice. Kevin even walked us to a small creek where the trout were spawning (a site we'd never seen before). The lake and mountain views from the property are amazing and breathtaking. As long as you're not expecting a modern-hotel experience, Wild Rose Ranch will provide you a place to disconnect, relax and enjoy the outdoors, and meet some really nice people. It's centrally located and short drive to Yellowstone west entrance, Mesa Falls, the quaint town of Ennis, and the "Wild West" town of Virginia City. read more

Loved the Rose Ranch RV campground. We enjoyed a banking brook behind our motorhome and were about 100 yards to the lake. There are boats to rent, fishing. basketball court, trails, an arcade, and very friendly staff. We'd come back for another visit. read more

My Yelpy friend Denny said, what were you thinking when you booked here? Perhaps he was right. Currently a 1 star rating, be assured it could have turned out far worse that it actually was. Granted, the Wild Rose Ranch may look like a conglomeration of new and rather seedy from the outside; And Anthony Melchiorri (Hotel Impossible series) would certainly be rolling his eyes and rubbing his hands together in glee. But it had a number of favorable attributes as well. First, it is only a 20 minute drive to get to the west entrance of Yellowstone. That was why I booked here. Secondly, you can get an adequate room here for *not cheap* but much less than in West Yellowstone Village. And more importantly, you can get a room, period. I booked two months in advance and it was a stressful experience finding a place even then. And lastly, there is a scenic fishing lake, called Henry's Lake, that the "ranch" butts right up to. The feeling is very isolated, but also very serene. You cannot beat the view. Well, maybe you can, but it is still lovely and very peaceful. Take note, fishermen. On the property there is an adequate boat ramp which you must pay to use and accommodations for cleaning your catch afterwards (think sink and faucet) for free. There is plenty of open space to park your boats and trailers. No RV hook ups. And if inclined, there are more primitive accommodations (think bunk beds with no inside bathroom, no linens) that demand much less $$. As for us less primitive users, there are at least 6 large newish log buildings, two of which are two stories high with outdoor stairs (no elevators), with maybe 10 rooms per building. The rooms are small and dorm-like. A narrow hallway leads to a string of rooms. Our very snug accommodation had one queen bed, no bed bugs, plus a roomy remodeled bathroom with tub/shower combo and soft towels, a small refrigerator and microwave and coffee maker. The carpet was clean, the furniture sturdy, the flat screen TV had 5 channels, and there was wifi (although very slow). I overheard the host mentioning they also have a few cabins that can accommodate 4 people, and with kitchenettes. They have a tiny gift shop that also sells a drinks/beer and food items and some fishing necessities. And there are working washers and dryers available if you have the right coinage. Now, time for the honest downsides. Yes, there are more than several points to be considered: -Their roadside signage leaves a lot to be desired. Look for a lighted arrow. Best not to try and find it after dark, if it is your first time. -Then there is a dirt road leading down to the ranch, littered along the side with cast away signs and other abandoned rusting equipment. Unsightly. -No operating restaurant currently, although they advertise having one. Eat in West Yellowstone or the small town nearby. -The small lounge area in each building, complete with a coke machine, couch and tv, is small, rather dowdy, and could use a good cleaning. -But I think the most serious offense is the quality of the doors for the individual room entries. These doors are sub par, hollow, with no security locking device other than the cheap turn button type you would find on an interior bathroom door. Not heartwarmingly secure. Not the best of accommodations, but I have definitely experienced worse. I would rate them around 2.5 stars. read more

Great spot. They were quick to respond to our reservation request after we could not find anywhere to stay in our travel trailer in West Yellowstone. We stayed a week and we have no complaints. Beautiful view and very convenient place to stay for fishing as it is by the lake. Will return here in the future. read more

I hate to complain, but this place warrants a negative review. Where to begin.... the restaurant had two people running the whole place so 1-2 meals came out every 20 minutes and we had a group of 13. The food was below average but the price was VERY high! $14 for a single chicken breast, $7 for a small bowl of plain iceberg lettuce they call a salad, and the fries were nasty. The air conditioner didn't work, so no one could sleep all night. The beds are NOT comfortable, but lucky for us we had a foam mattress topper. The hot tub hadn't been cleaned or turned on in a long time, so we requested to have it usable the next day.... but it only ever reached 87 degrees that day. Probably one of the worst places I've ever stayed, and I travel extensively. My friend chose this place and probably didn't read the reviews. Hopefully if you're reading this you'll steer clear. If they lose enough business they'll be forced to ramp up their quality. read more

What little this place lacks it makes up for in hard work. My entire stay the staff was running around making everything perfect. The view in the morning was absolutly breathtaking. Bed was not the best but stayed in worse. Would recomend and stay again. read more

Unfortunately this place is over priced and under served! For over $250 a night you get a crapy condo with no view, a lumpy bed with someone else's hair in the sheets, a moldy shower curtain and no warm sheets!. The Kitchen has nothing! No forks, cups or even trash bags! The prices are outrageous for what you get! For $50 I would not complain but for $250 it is absurd! I have never been so disappointed. In addition they are NOT friendly and NOT accommodating. There is no quality to this place at all. I have never been so disappointed in all my travels! One last point... There is no place to eat or even get a beer as they no longer staff the restaurant !!! read more
