A top quality deli at the westernmost point of the British isles. Manned (womanned?) by a dedicated group at the back of the shop who will knock you up a sandwich to go in minutes. Great local cheese counter. Lots of tasty pies, pasties, sausage rolls and scotch eggs. A couple of shelves of excellent white and red wines. And lots and lots of great quality bits and bobs from chocolates to pasta to dairy products. It's really well curated and the sort of place you'd expect to cost the earth. But it really doesn't. Very fair prices. A large baguette packed full of whatever you want will cost less than a fiver. We go there every day when we're on holiday and take our booty down to Whitesands for a delicious packed lunch. And when we're cooking, it's a great place to buy posh produce and a bottle of Pouilly Fume to go with the lobster or crab from down the road in Solva. Insider tip. Go early. Lunchtime gets crowded and although they work quickly it will be a bit of a wait if you're getting a packed lunch. This place is an absolute godsend if you like your food and wine. A real treat you can award yourself every day. Well, you are on holiday. For more St David's reviews please read my write ups on... The Farmer's arms. The Bishops. Gianni's ice cream. Saffron. Jars of rocket pesto, packets of nuts, seeds and dried fruits, bottles of fine wine, sumptuous carrot cake and barrels of stuffed olives tempt the healthy palette. I bought a large packet of Kettle Chips (hand cooked potato chips with "absolutely nothing artificial") for €3.50. An expensive way to guiltlessly munch on crisps. My aunt and I split the beef casserole and the salmon (€11.95 each). All mains come with a fist-full of vegetarian pasta, beetroot and coleslaw. I also treated myself to a small tub of feta-stuffed olives. Yum! As we sat in the sunshine sipping our coffees (with soy milk if you please), we discussed the health benefits of tannins (any excuse for that caffeine hit or to uncork a nice bottle of red) and marvelled at the vibrant colours of the pansy violets that peered out at us from the cutest little flower pots.

Overall the atmosphere is relaxed, the surround inviting and there are lots of interesting pics to look at (and buy). Minus points for forgetting to deliver the coffees we ordered (the place wasn't busy!) but other than that a nice wee spot for a bite to eat.
