The person working was American and very kind, providing a generous amount of assistance for our indecisiveness. They have a variety of different dishes to suit different moods. We all ordered some variation of coffee/espresso and all enjoyed our beverages. To eat, I tried their hummus panini which was served with a plentiful side salad. It wasn't advertised that the panini had onions, which I despise, so I had to hand pick all of them off and as you can imagine, this was annoying. I was also disappointed in the quantity of fillings inside the sandwich which was mostly hummus, a small handful of arugula, and one or two other chopped pieces of vegetables. I had no issues with flavor. GF ordered the hummus sandwich, which was served as two thick pieces of toast. This dish was presented beautifully with two sprigs of basil overlying peppers, sliced cherry tomatoes, eggplant, and a nice spread of hummus. Eventually our half order came out and we asked for plates - this has never been a problem in the past. The waitress said "Yes of course!" and then ignored the request entirely. We waited another ten minutes or so before one of our party just went and grabbed what we needed from the buffet area. Our substitute dishes came out almost immediately - making me think our first try ordering wasn't even communicated in the first place. An earlier time we arrived and were asked to wait until a table opened up for us. We waited. And waited. And stood waiting. Staring at the man who told us to wait. He never said anything to us again, another waitress came out confused as to why we were waiting and seated us. There were plenty of empty tables in the back, and we hadn't seen anyone leave. Maybe a half hour after taking our order someone told us part of our order was "too difficult to make." The first time we went, the waitress didn't keep track of our order and didn't know what was on the menu, so at the register we had to take a menu out and read out what we got. Another staff member was just seated staring at her and didn't help. The staff seems to consist of one professional waitress and people who just seem to be helping out. I have no idea what the kitchen is like - it must be chaos if they lose orders for hours at a time. The food really is amazing though. Come, and if they're busy get the buffet. If it's a little dead try out the menu. Don't expect professional service or apologies for anything that goes wrong.
