I'm a fan!…read more Background: My cooking journey started in 2019 when I was stuck at home and couldn't go out to eat. No clue how to cook. I just knew how to eat! Meal Kit History: - I started off with HelloFresh for about a year and a half. - I then switched to Blue Apron at home (b/c my boyfriend also used HelloFresh at his house). My motto is variety is the spice of life. I used BlueApron for about 2 years before I got bored. - I then switched to HomeChef for about 1.5 years now (for when I cook for my boyfriend a few times a week), and I now use Green Chef at home. Green Chef is focused on "CLEAN EATING", so they use organic & fresh produce, cage-free eggs, antibiotic & hormone free chicken, as well as sustainably sourced seafood. They are also named as Best Meal Delivery Service for 2023 and 2024 (Best Overall Meal Kits) by US News & World Report. That also means that the veggies don't last very long because they are organic. As for the meats, I usually freeze them as I unpack the delivery box. An hour or two before cooking, I put the meat in cold water to defrost (in original unopened packaging). At this point, I've ordered 8 boxes of Green Chef (usually 2 to 3 recipes per box). Green Chef's specialty is categorizing recipes: - Calorie Smart - Gluten Free - Gut & Brain Health - Keto - Mediterranean - Protein Packed - Quick & Easy - Vegan - Vegetarian There also a "More Than Dinner" which includes lunches and also options to add snacks before finalizing recipes for the week. As I understand it, Green Chef is owned by HelloFresh, so packaging is easy. Food and ingredients come in paper bags, so no need to sort through loose vegetables in the box when delivered. App is easy to use like any others (you can select recipes a few weeks in advance and you can cancel directly on the app without having to call customer service.) As with any Meal Kit Delivery, depending on the delivery company, the first 1 or 2 boxes might be mis-delivered. I didn't have any issues with my initial boxes of Green Chef. My favorite recipes thus far: - Taco Spiced Beef and Squash Skillet - Cuban Chicken with Chimichurri - Lemon Baked Tilapia with Feta - Peruvian Style Barramundi & Chimichurri - Beef Tenderloin with Truffle Cream Sauce ENJOY!

Emailed the company and asked kindly due to my kids school schedule and driving from Aurora could they please have it ready by 12? Yes! Thank you Emmett and team for helping a busy Mama of 3 who had time management concerns. Fast forward to cooking time for a virtual Yelp event. My husband and I always do these together and of course for ribs who wouldn't? The sweet pineapple sauce for the ribs was so tangy and sweet, while the ribs were fall of the bone delicious! I've never had collard greens before and not sure how I felt about those. My husband says they go great with bacon so wondering if next time adding those would help? The beans and hominy were fantastic and quite a surprise! Never had hominy outside of Pozole. Never even considered hominy in any other capacity. Nicely done! All in all the meal as a whole was like taking a trip down to the south and very comforting. Thanks as always Matt for another great event and Luna Team for some delicious food. The lowdown on how it works: The Friday before: - Lizzie sends an email w/ the menu for the following week (one choice per day: Monday-Thursday). She will also work with any dietary restrictions. - I reply to the email w/ the days we'll be getting food. We typically order for 3 nights/week, which we end up eating all week long (lunches included). - Lizzie emails heat up instructions that even those of us who can't make eggs can handle The day of: 4pm: Lizzie shows up with a bag full of amazing food 6:30-8:30pm: My husband and I negotiate with (and sometimes threaten) 3 children to go to bed 8:30pm: We're hungry and exhausted after a long day of work and negotiating with our children, but we spend a few min heating up the meal 8:40pm: We eat too much of an amazing, but somewhat healthy meal...and sing Lizzie & Jen praises. --- I often bring the leftovers to work and somehow they taste even better (if possible) for lunch the next day. My kids also often enjoy the leftovers for lunch and I've even had my son's teacher ask how I find time to work, take care of 3 kids and make him amazing home cooked lunches. Ha.

The meat is outstanding. I mean OUTSTANDING. We get the basic Beef/Pork/Chicken box each month. It's the only meat we buy now. We can't trust our local store (the cats refuse their chicken!) The customer service is great. It's wonderful to know you're buying chem-free food. The thawed meat also lasts several days after thawing without going bad. We have a tendency to take a pound out in the morning before work, in fridge to thaw, then too tired to cook when we get home. It has been very forgiving. Haven't lost any to spoilage and we've been subscribed for almost a year. The website doesn't affirm that you have successfully changed your order when you want to try new things and need to add or subtract an item. It DOES it, but then there's no affirmation. It just leaves you on a page that shows the new total. But I'm not used to instant upgrade without any reassurance that it was a saved action. I guess that's just me. You have to go into settings to change your method of payment if you need to switch accounts. That wasn't obvious. But whether it was a human or a chatbot, I was instructed how to do this and the card was updated. That's more than I can say for some subscriptions! read more

I have been enjoying a variety of products from Wild Pastures for awhile now, so I feel like I can give an honest review. I love the fact that they offer 'clean' products, without all of the poisons the big guys pump into their products to preserve them, flavor them, etc. As a result, I am feeling better, both physically & mentally. These days finding clean, pure, nutritious food is quite the challenge, and from what I've seen, Wild Pastures offers all of these features, as well as predictable and reliable delivery. The people behind the products are also extremely responsive if you have questions, comments, or other issues in need of an answer. Another plus, is that the animals themselves have a natural life, so while I feel like a hypocrite, knowing they are headed to the dinner table, I take some solice in the fact that they do not suffer throughout their lives like those poor creatures, pumped full of hormones and antibiotics, crammed into small cages or holding lots until they are led off to slaughter. We've been buying grass fed beef and chicken from Wild Pastures for a while now. Their products and service are wonderful and both were recently put to the test. During the recent heat wave, our order arrived on time, but was mostly thawed, the dry ice gone. It was no one fault- the heat was brutal. I was home when I received the text that our order was delivered and I brought the box in immediately. I emailed Wild Pastures and without hesitation, they shipped out another order. Good customer service is the back bone of any company and Wild Pastures lives up to its product and reputation of delivering a great product, variety and service. Thank you, Wild Pastures! I have been ordering their meats for about 3 years and have been very satisfied until the past couple of orders. Recently their packaging has leaked in almost every package which used to never happen. I hate bloody refrigerators! I've had to throw away a few expensive packages including their brisket, stew meat and others because the meat turned ugly brown and spoiled within a day of taking it out of the freezer and into the fridge. Their last few chuck roasts have been so tough (how is it possible for chuck roast in the slow cooker to be tough cooked on low and slow? Also the brisket and stew meat were like shoe leather! I've been using wild pastures for about a year and a half now. I've always been very happy with the product. I feel like with beef prices the way they are the beef box is the best value. For how much you get it's honestly cheaper than the grocery store for me. Then I will do add-ons of chicken or pork as needed and they also many times have specials or discounts on things and add-ons. Their pork breakfast sausage is amazing. It tastes so much better than any store-bought breakfast sausage I've had. I was concerned a little bit at first about meat being shipped. The ham!! The ham!! From Wild Pastures, uncured, smoked, was glorious and scrumptious. I bought a 10+ pound ham for our Easter dinner. 18 people showed up here and were all generously fed, with a couple of plates delivered to the infected or reclusive. One of my daughters gratefully grabbed up the mostly cleaned bone, I quickly hid what remained on the cutting board, barely enough for two sandwiches. I had three messages from family and two phone calls from the other families all going on at length about the superior ham! Their products are so varied- lots of choices. I've never been disappointed yet, going on 2 years of regular orders. Service is very responsive, and friendly. I get a varied box each time, and change up my selections regularly. I especially like that their products are flash frozen, and don't include a lot of water. I just keep everything in my freezer and then take out whatever I want a day ahead and stick it in the fridge. If I forget to take it out in advance, I thaw it in the sink. Since we were already in the shopping center to try a new place yesterday, we went to Frank's afterwards. Bottom line, we've finally found our favorite deli in the area. If it wasn't snowing today, we'd go back for a sandwich. Since we weren't immediately hungry, we instead looked over the meat selection and then zeroed in on the deli counter. I purchased just a few sample items. A bagel (they say it's a NY bagel, and it does have the right texture! Just wish they had whole wheat); whitefish salad (better than any others I've encountered in the area); cole slaw (perfectly blended - not too watery, not too dry); and a canoli, which was flaky and sweet. The deli items have an East Coast feel like no other in the area that I've encountered. Better than anything I found in Lakewood, where I lived before. And, since we just got back from a visit to my Dad in Florida, this was a welcome sight! The soup they had as a special, as well as the sandwich special descriptions sounded yummy, so we will go back, maybe this weekend. The meats also look good, so we will likely try some in the weeks to come. Again, I wish they could somehow create a place, even outside, where we could sit to eat. We could then eat right away instead of having to go home first. But even with that inconvenience, we look forward to more encounters. The young man who helped us doesn't know much yet about the choices, but I'm sure if he stays there, he'll learn. He was pleasant and helpful, asking another employee when he didn't know an answer. It's already busy there, but yes, I recommend going and waiting to try their goods! It's worth the wait.

The owner, Dustin, is incredibly rude and irresponsible. We rented a roaster from him that failed, leaving our fundraiser event without enough food. They don't answer their "Emergency" numbers that they give you as a safeguard. The roaster was a safety hazard and the gas leak could have caused a huge accident at an event with 200 people in attendance. Regardless of what you want to use Arapahoe Hog Roasters for, you need to know that if any issues come up, they will not take responsibility for them. I called them and wanted to have a calm discussion about the day's events to see if we could come to a conclusion that would make both sides happy. Dustin began yelling at me and told me to "go call my f'n lawyer if I wanted to do something about it." Shortly after this, he hung up on me. Now that's great service. Not to mention, this event that we were putting on was to benefit children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. This company couldn't care less about anything like this in their own community. People like this should not be allowed to run businesses where they deal with the public. They are often out of product and sells brands that the super market sells at a huge price hike. Was almost excited about the palisade peaches but they only sell in 8 pounds at a time at a crazy price. Will stick to local farmers markets and the super market. Was very disappointed

When I mentioned that, the lady at the counter gave me a small cup of rice to help settle my stomach and it really did actually! I bought a small kimbap with rice to eat after and that helped more. They have a central table inside where you can sit, or some tables right out front. It's peaceful and calm; was a very appreciated little find on my road trip :)

They claim to have slices and being from NJ that is a rarity around these parts. So that's what drew us in-we just wanted a slice. We walked in and there was ONE slice in the display. "Do you have any more slices?" "No, that's all we have". Mind you it's dinner time, not 8PM. So I guess they make 1 pie a day for slices and when that's out that's it.
