This was my first time ordering from Wild Pastures. I wrote an email to customer service because it took nearly two weeks for the order to arrive. I was informed that orders are processed on the business week following the order placement. I placed it on Saturday. The day I received the reply email my order showed up. I love the mission and model of Wild Pastures. So I signed up for a subscription, and received my first order in a timely fashion and it was packaged well. The chicken and meat I got was very good (beef not "great"), but I was still in to continue the journey. That is until I went to customize my next box order. The interface is really clunky and non-intuitive. Being unable to delete items even though I was exceeding the original box $dollar amount. I appreciate that this is probably a small business that is coordinating a lot with their various suppliers. And I want them to be successful. I just need a really easy and far more flexible web/cart experience to earn my trust for being a subscriber. So I cancelled my subscription. But saying that, I still see myself using them as they had a ton of unique cuts like oxtail (for my husbands favorite Osso Bucco), beef bacon (haven tried it yet but I'm excited to). read more

Excellent customer support. I made a mistake with my order - and it was going to shipped to an address where nobody was going to be able to accept delivery. In addition, I didn't notice my mistake until it was technically outrode of the window for allowing changes. But I thought I'd ask - figuring I had nothing to lose by asking. I began searching for free range meats about three years ago and I didn't want to have to sign up for a beef, pork, chicken site so being able to have one account for all types of meat and seafood is perfect. I also never found a place that offered such a nice variety of meats and seafood all in one stop shopping. I am on my third auto ship and couldn't be happier with the quality of the food and the ease of ordering. You can customize your box which has been very beneficial for us and it's fun to explore different cuts of meat or seafood etc. The shipping and packaging couldn't be better. They have arrived on time and I was extremely impressed with the insulation in the box. It was amazing. Everything was frozen as solid as if I had just taken it out out of my deep freeze. We haven't tried everything we have purchased But I will say that what we have eaten just seems to be cleaner and more flavorful. This month I had a question about changing my order and customer service got to me quickly and answered my question quickly and efficiently. The quality of meats from what we have tried so far has been excellent and it's so good to know that these are animals that are raised humanely. I'm just using the last of my cancelled wild pastures meat tonight. As another reviewer noted, it seems the vacuum sealing isn't great, but since there is no use by date on the package, I don't know if that was the problem. I keep quite a lot of food in my freezer and the lack of date is ultimately what made me stop my subscription. I have to cycle what I have! They told me it was labeled with a code by industry standards but at least 2 packages I had at the time they told me that had no numbers, lots, or any sort of label other than the outside telling me what it was. Now obviously if vacuum seal fails, the meat is freezer burned. Some of the beef cuts I got were quite tough. I just attributed that to grass fed? Though bison is grass fed and not usually that tough. Even young venison is not as tough as the strip steak I had. It's a great concept and food arrived fine and I'm sure much healthier than grocery store, but ultimately I simply MUST have a date on my food. Especially for the prices that are charged. I do support local farmers. I just do it in person now. read more

I have ordered from several farms. But I truly like Wild Pastures the most. The beef, chicken and pork always taste fresh and are packaged extremely well and with clear labeling. I love the variety of cuts offered. But the best thing is the flexibility to change, add, or subtract from the order. I love being able to swap out cuts and meat type for something else for any given monthly delivery. I'm not locked into the same cuts month after month. The deliveries are prompt and arrive nicely frozen. The customer service is responsive and friendly. I highly recommend this company. There are many out there. Many new ones.
