I had never been to wild mountain as a child or an adult until a friend of mine convinced me to get a season pass for my kids. I didn't know what to expect, it's cool there's tents and tables where you can picnic with your own food/drink. The lazy river/splash pad is on the other side from the slides so if you have kids in different age groups you're bouncing back and forth. You can tell they are due for some upgrades, a lot of stuff is run down. I see they are building a pool, that will be a great addition but I'm sure the prices will increase, it definitely adds up quick when you have multiple children. I will say I didn't know who was staff and who wasn't, a lot of the employees weren't in uniform, it seems safety isn't a huge concern for the employees, I saw a lot of kids being disrespectful towards other kids in the water, pushing, kicking with no warning. Prepare your kids to fend for themselves or be sure to keep an eye out. read more

Fun place, has wet rides and dry rides. You have to buy a wrist band. You can either buy just for the dry or wet rides, or have it for both. About $20 for choosing wet/dry or $40 for both. Love the alpine slide, fun to ride little carts down a big winding trail. Get to ride ski lift up which is relaxing. Has 4 big water slides, 3 of them have to use an intertube, and the other just your body. Getting to each waterside there's a mini hike uphill and some stairs. Good exercise! Warning (black hole water slide) - hurts a little on the back and the water pressure when getting to the bottom also can hurt a little.) They do have a kitty pool for kids to play, which is separate from the water slides. Also the free fall! They have 2 Levels. You must be able to land properly and pass in order to go to the top level. No tricks or flips just jumping off. Go carts are fun, small course but it's a fun time for a couple hours. Wild Mountain is right. My god, what an experience. I purchased tickets through Group On and heard its a nice place for kids/teens. We packed lunches and left early. Drove a quite a ways to get here, celebrating my daughter's birthday. What a wash, it was very disappointing. Pool was disgusting, bouncy house was nasty however they did enjoy the go karts. It was a cold, nasty and the facility such a disappointment. Great thing we had backup plans. I wouldn't come back. read more

Today was my first time ever skiing. Got private lessons with Karen who made it a fantastic experience! It's clear when someone does their job with a passion. Completely converted me into this sport. 100% worth the drive from Rochester! I only did the two easiest green slopes this far but I will say this place is very beginner friendly. Haven't been to Wild Mountain in YEARS. Since Mother Nature gave us a little snow the past few days, my close friends and I decided to give the starlight snow tubing session from 6:00pm-8:00pm a go. Plenty of parking on sight. Check-in process was quick and easy. There was a bit of a line for tubing, but it moved quickly and we were able to go down the hill many times. Staff working outside were nice and even offered to give us a push multiple times. If I'm remembering correctly, there's 5 lanes to pick from and hills are steep and fast. The lights and music made the experience more fun. They also had a bonfire burning which puts the cherry on top of the experience. The only thing missing was a s'mores station. Online ticket pricing was seamless. I appreciate being able to read, review, and sign the waiver online instead of on sight during check-in. Fantastic time was had by our party of 3. Will definitely be back before the snow season ends. read more

The hill itself is fun, even for being short. Speeds of around 35 mph on a tub, and linking is allowed (though I got tossed from our lane into another one as the walls between had started to erode from usage/weather). The drawback are the lines. We stayed for about 75 minutes and only had 4 times down the hill completed - we chose to leave early because it just wasn't worth the wait of about 15-16 minutes per run. The walking carpet was slow, walking up the hill would have been faster, but wasn't allowed. I will say great for smaller kids as the carpet is easier than a tow rope, likely great for rental groups, but the best if you want to complete a lot of runs in a two hour window. read more

Don't expect a safe experience or an apology. Went for water park and go carts. It's nice they have picnic shelters to use for free. The splash pad and lazy river are great (but water was too cold even on a 90 degree day). Water slides and lazy river were extremely fun for the 6 and 11yr olds in our group. Bad thing was me and my 4 yr old got concussed and trapped between slides on one waterslide because they kept sending people down on top of us. Tragedy was narrowly averted only because a teenage guest stepped in to stop them, otherwise we would've drowned. Don't take kid who can't swim on their own on this as they can get knocked out and drowned even with a life vest on bc of how strong the current is and how they might send three 200+ lb people flying at you. read more

For the price, this ski hill is worth it! Lots of runs, a bit longer runs too. Skiing, even for just a day, has gotten so expensive. Wild Mountain had fair prices for a their night skiing, and I was able to go for a few hours without feeling it too badly in my bank account. Their runs had lots of snow (despite this snowless season...rip) and the chairs were all pretty fast with few lines. My only gripe is that there were so many younger kids who just flew around the hill with no ski etiquette, cut in lines, were shouting at each other, and honestly being pretty disruptive. Possibly my bad for going on a Saturday night tbh. I definitely don't want to sound like a Karen, I was a kid bombing runs on Saturday nights too at one point. Buuuut yeah not exactly my vibe anymore lol! If I were to come again, I'd maybe spend a bit more to go during the day and let the kids have the hills at night. read more

Fun family experience but I was a little disappointed in the long line to get back up this hill. Ok not a little quite disappointed. You are given 2 hour time frame to tube but in that time we only got to go down maybe 6 times due to the huge line spanning the length of the tubing hill. $26 to tune for 2 hours = 6 times down the hill. We did walk up the hill but hard to do with the kids. Bring your own food they unnecessarily price gouged $8 for a small frozen pretzel with cheese. It was $6 or $7 for a crappy hot dog. Had it been less crowded where we didn't have to wait 20 minutes per ride dork the hill the kids would have been much happier so it could be a great place read more

What a terrible experience at the rental area. The young girl behind the counter for the rental boots was beyond annoyed with customers at opening time! Then it got better. The guy who handed me the snowboard to rent was a real gem. I wouldn't be surprised if he were the owner of the place or part of the family. He was so arrogant. I asked if for a size 157. He slammed a 155 board down and I asked him very nicely if that was the largest board he had because I was hoping for a 157. He looked at me like I was in the wrong and then decided to berate me in front of the other customers going on and on to make sure I knew we were talking about 2 centimeters. I was floored. I hope he can move on and find a job where he is not required to provide customer service. read more

The service here for the alpine slides, go-karts, water slides, and free fall jump activity has greatly improved. My family (about 20+ people) had a great time from open to close and the staff was a big part of that. Our timing was great too because it wasn't dead or anything, but it wasn't busy either so the kids were able to be on slides and carts pretty much constantly. We tried Wild Mountain for the first time this year as we got a free ticket with our season pass at Spirit Mtn. It was an easy drive from the metro area, and very accessible despite heavy snowfall the day before. Although we visited early in the season (mid-December) there were enough runs open for a fun afternoon of skiing. Our only complaint was that a few of the runs were closed to the public for the local ski teams to practice. However, the staff did a great job of quickly re-opening these runs when the ski team moved on. read more

A very nice man tried to jump my car and spent quite a bit of time helping us but couldn't get it to start. Then, Maintenance man Ben came to our rescue! Figured out in less than 5 minutes that the battery was fine but the connection wasn't. He tighten the cables and boom- car started and we were on our way. I am extremely pleased with this ski resort and how they go above and beyond in promoting youth skiing. The snobby ski resorts like Afton & Welch village charges almost $200 dollars just for lift ticket to ski the beginner hill. They say if people paid for just the beginner hills they would just go to the other runs. Isn't that what the actual lift ticket attached to your jacket is for!? I know it's expensive to run a resort but it's ridiculous to charge that much for a 5 and 7 year old that have never skied. I get it Welch & Afton want to get them in ski lessons at the time of $100 dollars an hour plus the $60 for lift. We went to Wild Mountain and paid $16 dollars each for the beginners hills. We were able to teach our kids the basics of skiing and they could get a feel of if this was something they would like or not. Staff, management, facility were all awesome! We will return! read more

Fun in Taylor's Falls for a quick visit. This park may be outdated but they offer a variety of fun options for the kiddos. My nephews mostly enjoyed the alpine slide. I appreciated the option of being allowed to bring our own food in. We posted our stuff at a picnic table and we're able to come and go as we needed. Bringing our own food enabled us to stay longer. We purchased groupons for our visit which was a great deal. I'd love to see this place once it's remodeled. The staff were friendly and we didn't have to wait long for the attractions. read more

Magic carpet is what we rely on to get the little guy up and down the bunny hill so he can have some fun and get experience... it isn't always running which is a bummer but HUGE shout out to the awesome young man (skier) who gave him a taste of the tow rope and another day to the patient young man snowboarder who CARRIED his skis the rest of the way up the hill after he fell off the rope so he could "bomb" the hill from the top!! I'm a fan because of the online ordering option for gift cards which comes in quite handy for the nephews and nieces who like to use the gift cards for skiing or whatever they want at the park. And... it's a nice option for the last minute gift shopper. The waterpark in the summer is alright, although kind of far. It has about 4 slides, a lazy river and some other options for smaller kids. The "black hole" super chute slide is actually pretty intense at any age shooting you under ground in the dark and what feels like getting some air off the slide after going down. I wasn't a hug fan of that, but still fun and worth a try. It's over fast. It's about $16.00 to get in which is reasonable. Probably spent more in gas getting there. read more

Wild Mountain has good hills, however the COVID precautions are horrible. Over 75% of guests were not wearing masks, even though there were several signs saying that masks are required. Employees also made no effort at all to enforce the mask requirements, and many ski patrol and lift attendants were not wearing masks either. Good place to try and get covid at. Very disappointed with lack of precautions for covid safety. Would not recommend. read more

We visited the Wild Chutes snow tubing and had a great afternoon of family filled fun! Everyone was so nice and friendly from checkin till the time we left. The lines weren't long and it was easy for our youngest (5) to our oldest (60). We were allowed to bring our own drinks in (drinks were decent prices if you dont bring your own) and when we needed a break we could warm up by the fire pit. Electric conveyer belt makes it easy for all to make it up the mountain. Fantastic experience and we will definitely be back from Georgia before the season is done! read more

I've never been here for summer activities so this is for skiing only. As with almost all Midwestern downhill ski areas, the hills are not great. Of course, you run into those typical annoyances like the runs are super short and all that jazz. But Wild Mountain seems to be run well (or at least efficiently). I felt like everything moved along just fine on a moderately busy Sunday afternoon, so I had to give it four stars. Ski rental went smoothly and we got our equipment without waiting in any lines. It's a small place, so there's only the one chalet for food, drink, rental, bathrooms, merch, etc. You could never get lost on the hill either because almost all the chairlifts go to the same exact peak and all the runs come down from there. We stayed mostly on the blues and greens yesterday since all three of us hadn't been on skis much in the last few years. The Moonshine run was my favorite, though all of the blues were pretty great. The Easy Rider route was really, really easy even for me, but would be good first step for those who are just learning and finally ready to leave the bunny hill. It's also pretty scenic because it's back in the woods away from the other slopes. I avoided the black diamonds because I was too chicken (weird how nerves get you as you get older), but I watched a snowboarder slide down head first the length of the only double black diamond, The Wall. He was fine. That run looked ridiculous and I know for a fact that I'll never have any first-hand information about that particular hill. I'll probably be back again next year for my once-a-winter downhill ski trip! read more

I was born and raised in the upper peninsula of Michigan and I've skied there my whole life this place couldn't even come close to the hills up there. For starters I got here at about 1 and i walked up to the counter and asked the lady how much do they groom here and she couldn't even answer my question. I was pretty disappointed when I saw everything was groomed wall to wall here. I was able to find a little patch of some moguls but that was about it. Secondly It seems like the lift is stopping constantly not for long but I can't make it up the hill without stopping on average 3 times. I get it we all start somewhere but man that seems a bit of an over kill. The ranking of the runs are interesting to me a double black diamond would be like the equivalent to a blue square back home. These runs are wicked easy and short. This is a good hill for a family with younger kids, a person just getting into this sport, like skiing on nothing but groomed trails or even if you like the terrain parks. But if you are in to moguls or anything like that this probably isn't the hill for you. The one plus side is I love the hours. read more

Pretty good place, we go there near the end of every summer with our church, and the kids have a really good time. I think the Alpine Slide has become the favorite of both my girls, along with the go-karts for the oldest. I live in the northeast Metro and love that I can dash out to Wild Mountain for a midday ski, then be back home and still get a little work done while it's still light. I often buy a midweek season pass, but go online and check out their daily specials. You can print a coupon that lets you ski for half price on Tuesdays. Slopes are usually well-groomed and unless there's a huge school group visiting, lift lines midweek are minimal. Service from desk staff, cafeteria, and lift attendants is friendly and competent. Upstairs adults-only restaurant has decent ski-area food. My favorites are chili or whatever other soup they serve ($4-$6 for a bowl) and their fries are crispy and salty, like good junky fries ought to be. Burgers and chicken sandwiches are fine, and prices, while higher than fast food joints, are better than many ski areas. During the summer, try the water park on a HOT day for good, silly cool-off fun. Alpine slide is fun, too, unless you get stuck behind some timid person who's afraid to let loose. read more

I've been here twice this year, and it is A-ok. There are better, and there are worse. I had some rental gear frustration both times, but two out of three staff members were totally helpful. The Friday night flood of tweens (school and church groups) can be very annoying, but you're ok if you go before 4 or after 9. The snow is fairly well groomed, and they have a good amount of jumps and terrain elements. Beware of some smaller ones at night, especially with tinted goggles, because they aren't always well iluminated and none are marked. They can sneak up on ya! Wild mountain is pretty fun. read more

The owner is the most illiterate and rude person I have ever met. My son accidentally dropped some ski wax on the carpet and "Brad" comes over and starts swearing and telling him to go outside (keep in mind it's January and was -17 outside) ALSO wild mountain REFUSES to decently pay their employees or put ANY money towards making the parks better. The rope tows are constantly breaking down leaving you stranded on the hill, the rails are rusty and busted, and they keep the same setup for 3+ weeks at a time and only use the same 3 rails throughout the whole season. read more

This is the third time I 've been here. I usually come on my birthday as you get à super pass for free. I had not been here in about 5 years so I returned with my 11 year old son and his friend. I researched things online before comming here. The admission Prices have skyrocketed. Regular admission was $36 something and if you prebuy at Joe's Sporting goods you Save $10. Also if you go after 2:00 p.m its $20 plus tax. First the go carts. Not fun getting bumped and spun around. They are too slow also. The Alpine Slide required you to ride à chair lift which you just hold on. Kinda scarey. The Alpine Slide is fun. The waiting in line is long. Now the water slides. I liked the green (enclosed) one and Pink (open) slide. The black hole slide made gave me a snuggy with my swim skirt and I got water up my nose and plugged my ears. Not cool. My complaints is the sidewalks are slippery and the place could use some painting and maintenance. The green outdoor carpet was torn and the water smelled like pee. The other cool slide was broken down due to à pump. The changing rooms were open and I used à bathroom when I saw mom and her daughter inside. The carpet in the area was so nasty and badly needs to be replaced. The only improvement I saw after 5 years away was à air trampoline which was extra of course. It looks like the Owners don't put money back into the business for basic maintenance or appeal. I would rather go to Apple Valley Aquatic Center anyday. I probably wont ever return. read more

Wild Mountain is the best Ski Area in the Twin Cities located in Taylors Falls. I've been skiing here as long a I can remember. A great place to get in shape and tuned up before heading out to the mountains! We like to start our day with a run down Sunshine to get warmed up and then we Ski Wild (my favorite), Ego Alley and Bear most of the day. Chair 2 gets a bit clogged up on the weekends but chair 4 always has minimal lines and gets you good access to Bear and Wild. At lunch there is nothing like a bowl of their Hot Chili or Wild Rice Soup! Enjoy! read more
