Menu here had been revamped. Much cleaner, simple and visually easier to look at and get through with out being over whelmed. Changes such as these usually mean that management has changed, and it has. For the better it seems. They now have an app you can use to order, AND they offer delivery to Summerville and the greater Summerville area!! You have to have an order over $20 and the delivery change is $2. Delivery includes everything on the menu. Sushi, hibachi, everything. The portions are still good sized but the prices are definitely higher. Not sure if they are trying to upscale it or compete with other Japanese places in the area. Food quality is great. Price hike not so great. Make sure you check in on Yelp, you get a free small sake!!! And who doesn't need more sake?? read more

I stopped for dinner for the first time based on Yelp reviews expecting good food but I do not recommend. I ordered pad thai and it was far from pad thai. The chicken smelled strong like poultry. Also, the chairs were shaking and felt unsafe. We tried switching them out but all the tall chairs in the restaurant were shaking. We will definitely not come back to this restaurant. In town visiting my dad and we both wanted sushi. We decided on Wild Ginger because of their solid reviews and we weren't disappointed. Their happy hour menu (Mon-Fri, 4-7) is great - and they're full rolls of sushi! I also ordered the shrimp tempura roll - which was light and flaky! It was OK. We ordered espresso martini and Arnold Palmer cocktail, they don't have price on the menu, it was $8 each. We ordered beef tataki which was over cooked. Ordered 3 signature sushi rolls which was $14 each. In most of sushi places the highest price is around $13 but all of their signature rolls are $14 which I think it's over priced. The sushi quality is decent but need more signature menu of their own. Ordered coconut soup, wasn't bad but wish they didn't have canned pineapple pieces in it. Our bill came out as a little bit over $80, plus tips we paid close to $100. I do not mind paying for a good food and service, but I felt like it was over priced. On the other hand, I made my first visit to The taste in Dorchester rd. yesterday, I ordered the same amount of food and the bill came out $60. If you are not a big fan of Asian food or a sushi fan, you'd be ok with it. But as someone love sushi and have high expectations, I do not recommend this place cause you will think it's over priced and no real "signature" dish of the restaurant. read more

Not happy at all. Won't be back. Waitresses have the personality of a brick wall. Acted like they couldn't under English. Didn't even introduce themselves and didn't come back to check on us or refill our drinks. WORST service and Food was bland at most. After ordering from the kid's menu for our child, she placed an order for an adult meal AND charged us for it. Wild Ginger is a classy, modern dining spot with fresh dishes that don't disappoint. We go there every so often for sushi, general tso's, and lo mein for the kids. We have brought our guests there a number of times, and they've eaten fresh vegetable dishes that they enjoyed. We've always had friendly and fast service, and it's a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the evening. The hostesses here are especially welcoming. I don't usually comment on hostesses, but the girls they have up front are always so sweet and happy, and very nice to our kids. I like this spot because it's classy enough for date night, but we also enjoy family dinners here with our young kids and always feel like they are treated well. They have happy hour sushi deals but it's not exciting enough to get us there more often. If we really felt like it was too good to pass up, we would come all the time. So happy we came by and tried this place out! The hostess was very friendly and our server, Rachel, was amazing, down to earth, and very attentive! We went during Happy Hour and tried the Calamari and Spinach Cheese Rolls. I loved loved the Spinach Cheese Rolls!! The House Soup, Miso Soup, and House Salad were good and flavorful. My son loved his Chicken Lo Mein and he's a picky eater so that says a lot. Now for the rest of our food: Philly Roll: fresh and had big chunks of cream cheese which is a huge plus for me. Out Of Control and Explosion Signature Rolls: my hubby devoured them in no time, so I'm assuming he loved them lol. They were a little on the expensive side, but the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. Walnut Shrimp: served with rice and broccoli, great portion size, flavorful, and overall yummy. Mongolian Beef: I'm an onion lover so with 3 different onions in it (yellow, red, and green) I was in heaven. The beef was tender and it wasn't spicy at all, which is what I was afraid of. Served with rice, great portion size, but wish there was a little more beef in it. Our server said this was her favorite dish and I can see why. Wild Ginger Pineapple Fried Rice: I wasn't too crazy about it, it needed a little bit more flavor. Loved that it was served in half of a pineapple. I've never had a bad experience here. I'm vegan and live in the town of Summerville, so to find a place that actually has decent Vegan options is great. This shouldn't be a surprise since most Asian restaurants are pretty accommodating. However when I say Vegan options I mean they have stuff you can make vegan (i.e. sub chicken for tofu) but don't have any specialty vegan food...as far as I'm aware. I definitely recommend getting the General Tso's Tofu entree located under the section labeled "Asian Fusion Entrees" for my fellow Vegans. The sauce is great and it comes with broccoli and rice as well as a soup or salad. If you don't trust the words of a "filthy Vegan" then my friends says they really enjoyed the Mango Chicken and Hibachi Chicken entrees. I go here more then I would like to admit so again, I think you should try it out. read more

Great selection of sushi rolls and the hibachi is delicious and arguably as good or better than yokoso and Miyabi in case you were wondering. Great selection of appetizers as well. Yummo! We sat at the bar anf enjoyed the Skrunch Roll and Pepper Steak. Skruch roll is delish. Pepper Steak portion is humungous so either come ravenous or share it with 1 or 2 other people. Everything I have tried is delicious. I won't order steak there again though. Ordered medium and it came out purple and the waitress so "no that's medium. So you want well done?" No?! They took it back and brought it out burnt and crunchy. I held my tongue but I was pissed. We spend at least $70 when we go here. Their potstickers are delicious. Not only was the food here superb, but the service was impeccable. Lin came out from the sushi counter to speak with my husband and me. He treated us like family and made us feel like we were home. Coming from NY we have found it difficult to find delicious miso and sushi, Wild Ginger was a breath of fresh air! The miso was perfect, the chicken gyoza cooked to perfection, the sushi superb. It's wonderful to have a decent Asian Fusion restaurant close to Corey Woods,without having to battle downtown Summerville. Wild Ginger is currently our go to spot for sushi. We love their selection of $5 sushi rolls on their Happy Hour menu as well as the half priced sake. Everything always tastes fresh and delicious. Some of the best house onion soup I've had. Their wait staff is friendly along with their sushi chefs. Well we finally found a very good place in the area for Asian/Chinese food. I can highly recommend a visit to this establishment for plenty of choices of well prepared food in abundance. The prices are worth the fare, the place is clean, the staff is competent and pleasant and the atmosphere is welcoming. The sushi is excellent and a mainstay for many visitors. The Asian meals are excellent based on our orders of garlic shrimp and Mongolian beef. The sauces are flavorful and there is plenty for the dish. Unassuming in a strip mall, this is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the lowcountry. The hibachi is excellent and very inexpensive. The coconut shrimp is decadent, the sashimi has huge portions, and the street noodles are better than PF Chang's. Definitely give this place a try! read more

Was clean, nicely decorated, and the menu prices were very reasonable. I ordered a hibachi steak and it came out within about 10 minutes and was very fresh and had great flavor. We go to Wild Ginger almost every Monday evening more out of coincidence and convenience rather than anything else. Mondays are 1/2 price sushi and it's on the way home from my daughter's ballet class and it's the one night of the week I have 'off' from momming. So... we have become regular customers. We always order the fried rice and lo mein kids meals and a bunch of sushi. We have settled on the spicy tuna/salmon/yellowtail rolls, Champ Chop, Summerville, Angry Dragon, and Sashimi Roll. Everything is always tasty and the service is usually good. We have never had to wait for a table. My girls love to go because of the great big fish tank. I have lived in Summerville for almost three years, and I have been looking for an Asian restaurant that fits my tastes. I have found that many Asian restaurants here use much more soy sauce than what I am accustomed to. Wild Ginger, though, has the BEST Asian fare I have had in the Lowcountry. I had General Tso's chicken, which was fantastic. It was just the right amount of sweet sauce with red pepper. It has been so long since I had really good General Tso's chicken. This dish, alone, will keep me coming back, but I am excited to try other things on the menu. The service was quick and friendly. Our server came back several times to check on us. The restaurant was a little quiet for a Saturday afternoon. I hope more people visit this restaurant so that it stays open. The ambiance is light and airy, with just the right amount of lighting. I like that it is an actual restaurant without televisions. The prices are reasonable. We were there for lunch and our bill came to $19 + tip for two meals that included salad, rice, broccoli, and our entrees. I will definitely return to Wild Ginger in the future; in fact, my other half had to stop me from going back on the same day. If you haven't tried Wild Ginger yet, do it. read more
