It took us years to give it another chance. My husband had 2 NA beers and I had one Grey goose drink and put two hundred dollars in their very unfriendly machines. As we're walking out the door the bartender tells us we owe $15 for the drinks. She said "we're a small bar and don't comp certain drinks" ok, fine why weren't we informed of that when we ordered them and tipped pretty well? I think they thought we were some random tourists and they could abuse our patronage. Well I spent 35+ years in the bar business and worked in casinos. Rolled into town with a broken transmission yesterday. I was welcomed in with my grumpy old dog, and they fed me dinner and drinks and even helped me get the tow truck squared away. No frills, fair prices, no BS, and exceptionally generous owners. I'll be back through in a few days for another round once the car is fixed. read more

Our experience wasn't that bad, but maybe my expectations were already set low. The wings were very good. The mini tacos came across like frozen store-bought tacos that were elevated by a restaurant-quality deep fryer. Other guests seem to rave about the pizza. Seriously, you guys need to get out more. The pizza reminded me of a late-night college drunk meal where your roommate swears he can make a good pizza. That said, the pizza is clearly designed for drunk people, and after way too many drinks, I could absolutely see myself smashing 7 or 8 slices. Service was okay, but a little slow. Ben reminded me we were one of only two tables and it was not ok, so fair enough. This was our second dinner in Mesquite, and I'm noticing a common theme: the bar comes first, and dinner guests who aren't drinking copious amounts of alcohol come second. Overall, it wasn't a remarkable experience, but it wasn't bad either. The wings were the highlight. Everything else was just kind of there.

I took a star off because the guy who checked our IDs in the front didn't tell us it was open seating, so we just stood there waiting to be helped not knowing what to do if we can sit anywhere , or needed to wait. The bartender didn't stop to welcome us , or let us know it was open seating. We aren't locals, nor have we been before, so standing there without any direction was kind of not welcoming.
