We knew we were coming up on a replacement of the entire door as well (bent aluminum panels). The options that Jovanni walked us through were very satisfying for approaches to resolve the decaying old setup. We went through options and decisions; got great advice and tips; Jovanni totally knows his trade: doors, motors, framework, electronics of the existing home wiring; and, found the original manufacturer dates of our old bits of "Frankenstein door". :) Monday (today) was work day: amazing in total. Work, then he discovered the original wiring we could use so the old floppy external wiring could be cleaned up. Set up and walk through the unit. WOW! I am actually excited for my new garage opener. The new doors in our preferred black color will arrive on about 3 or 4 weeks. But this new opener ... AWESOMENESS! So quiet i can barely hear it. Stupendous experience all in all. Their technician told us the damaged panel couldn't be sourced and that a full door replacement was the only option. Curious, I spent five minutes on the phone with the original manufacturer and learned that an identical replacement panel is readily available -- just sold under a rebranded name. Not only was Meadows' full-door quote more then four times the cost of simply replacing the damaged panel with the modern equivalent, but the door they proposed was actually inferior to the existing one, with a noticeably worse insulation rating. Their full door quote was nearly double that of fully replacing the existing door with the modern rebranded product. That level of either incompetence or dishonesty is hard to overlook -- but what troubles me most is wondering whether the garage door they replaced on our own home years ago actually needed replacing at all. I'd encourage anyone to do even a little homework before accepting their diagnosis. There are plenty of other garage door companies in the area; I'd start there.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Responding to Jason's comment, I spoke directly with the original manufacturer. I was told the replacement panel is still available under a rebranded name and is visually identical to the existing door with the only change being an interior hinge. What he's saying simply isn't true. That's what makes this frustrating from my perspective -- your company strongly pushed a full door replacement as the only viable option.

Their tech's name was Martin and he was thorough and friendly. He did a great job and replaced the entire unit including the track in about an hour. Called on Wednesday and he was out by 10:00 on the next day. The earliest anyone else I talked to could get out was Saturday. Great and fast service! Surprised that when I asked for estimates veterans was also the cheapest. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing fast and reliable service. I will definitely use them in the future.

I received a call from veteran garage door WHILE installation was still going on saying installation was complete and they wanted payment. At that time I was sitting inside the house and could hear all kinds of banging, drills, etc. I could not go inside the single car garage because it was full of ladders, tools, garage door components, etc., and I did not want to disturb the installer or get in his way. He also had his trailer backed up to the garage, so I couldn't get in from the outside either. As soon as he left I went inside the garage and immediately called veteran garage door to tell them the wiring was not done right. Up to this point, and even as I was on the phone describing the issue I thought veteran garage door was a reputable company that would never allow such low standards, but I was wrong. The woman on the phone asked, "Does the door go up and down?" I said yes. Her response was, "Well then sounds like it was a successful installation so I'll take your payment now." WHAT?!?! Judge for yourself from the photos. Does this look like it would be up to anyone's standards? They couldn't even be bothered to run the wire through conduit or even use little wire clamps instead wrapping the wires around screws. By the way some were coming unwrapped the next day so the wires literally would've just been dangling. Another thing to note here is their communication. Never through the whole process did anyone from veteran garage door explain verbally or show in pictures or writing what their "standard" wiring installation looked like. If they had shown me anything like these photos I would never have hired them. Also, the electrician I hired found no reason why they ran the wiring all over the place instead of through the easily accessible attic space like he did. I waited the 6 weeks from paying the deposit they said it would take to get the door in stock and then had to call them to find out what was going on. At that point I was told they had only ordered the door 4 weeks ago so it may be longer! They took a moment to double check, and found my door was there ready to go, just waiting. If I hadn't called, I wonder if they ever would have contacted me or if my job would've been overlooked? I also wonder how long it had been sitting there ready and it could've been installed sooner had they been on top of things? That brings me to my last point and another major discrepancy from Annamaria's statement. There was no "agreed upon" timeline, there were only demands for payment within their unreasonable timeline or else! I explicitly repeated several times that they were not permitted to charge my card without my consent and approval for the amount. I never said I wouldn't pay, I just said I needed time to get repairs made before closing out the account. They gave me 3 days to get repairs done when they expect me to wait for weeks even months for them to get their stuff done? I wasn't expecting to need some one to fix their bad job. So I had to scramble, and was nothing short of lucky that one of the 4 electrician's I called had a cancellation and was able to come by. I ended up being only 15 minutes late from their do or die Friday by 4pm deadline. Yet, did they call for an update? No. Did they ask before charging my card? No. Yes, Annamaria refunded me $400 to cover the electrician at $250 and the rest to use toward sheetrock and painting. Honestly, $150 is barely enough to cover paint and materials, but I was tired of fighting them over it. I was planning on writing a really nice review about her help then I saw her response to my original review. Thought some truth was warranted so future customers know what they are getting in to.
