Carlton's Hampton Road Grocery - Tenderloin Sandwich - rather small, but tasty

I came for the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich and that's what I ordered. The sandwich here is very tasty but rather small, especially when compared to others offered throughout the Triad - for example, the absolute monster at Country BBQ in Greensboro. They have some interesting items availed besides sandwiches. I'll probably wander by here again and check out some of them

My Uncle Marion would have enjoyed Gay Sholtz's daily changing menu of meatloaf, homemade soups, and pork chops. Served in a Styrofoam container, each entrée came with two sides and a roll for $5.30. Jerry picked up lunch from Gay's for us on two occasions. The warm German Potato Salad we had with the American Goulash (we call it Beef-A-Roni at our house) was the surprise find...bacon, bits of translucent onion, and an herbed dressing with that just right tart sweet balance. Buttered Peas and Creamy Mashed Potatoes covered with brown gravy begged to be sides for the tomato ketchup glazed Meatloaf. Our family appreciated the touch Gay had when seasoning her vegetables, and the Baby Limas with Fried Pork Chop were another hit. We couldn't pass up a bowl of Chili Beans, flavorful but not burn your mouth spicy. You will have no need to go back to the Cracker Barrel once you taste Gay's Hashbrown Casserole with its cheesy browned goodness. Yes! It was that good! Finish off lunch with a piece of Strawberry Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting to satisfy your sweet tooth. We've heard wonderful things about Gay's Chicken Pies, but that's a story for another time. Scheduled for another appointment later in the day, we thought it prudent to have a strep test so that could be factored in to the equation when deciding whether or not to attend the later appointment. We were fortunate enough to find an appointment at the CVS Minute Clinic in Clemmons. Unfortunately, they were out of strep tests. But they did not send us away. Instead, PA Lindsay called around to other CVS pharmacies and located one that had strep tests. Unfortunately, the other clinic had no appointments. I guess we are on our own after all. Nope. Janie, the Care Concierge, drove to the other pharmacy to pick up the tests and bring them back here, where they would meanwhile keep our appointment open and complete it when the tests arrived. Now THAT is customer service. In addition, while I was waiting for my daughter, another employee walked by me and very cheerfully and politely asked me if I needed any help. I stated earlier that my experience could hardly have been better. I do wish it had not taken so long--this took up a good chunk of the day--but I really can't complain about that. How could I? In these days when there is so much sickness and so much testing and so many staff shortages, how can one criticize people who are doing their very best to help you? I can't. I won't. And people like Lindsay and Janie deserve recognition for going the extra mile in being so helpful, compassionate, and for being such thorough professionals.

I should've known not to come to the CVS pharmacy, there are a ton of terrible Reviews on this…read morelocation! I was in the process of transferring my prescription from Amazon to this CVS location, and the process includes CVS having to call Amazon. I did my due diligence and I called at 10 AM to get my prescription transferred, and they said they would give Amazon a call. I gave them eight hours to call them and I called CVS back to make sure the prescription had been transferred successfully, they notified me they were unable to get the prescription transfer due to Amazon's negligence, I ended up giving Amazon a call myself and someone promptly answered, they notified me CVS never called them. I decided it was best to speak in person and I had to drive all the way to CVS pharmacy just for them to be closed. Mind you I did not receive a call from CVS saying what happened with Amazon or anything. They put me on a wild goose chase! Terrible and careless customer service from this CVS pharmacy and I will be going with Walgreens from now on! I'm not sure how any of these pharmacy techs got their job, if you don't know how to complete a simple phone call I'm not sure how you can be trusted with medications and such, how irresponsible!

I explained to the girl what happened on Friday she just said not ready come inside and they would get it ready for me. That was non sense because it was ready on Friday. Two last times my Dr. Had called in some medicine like at 3:00. and I kept checking and it was always in progress. From 3 in the afternoon until 9 at night i finally got in touch with the pharmacy and was told it was just then coming out. Wanted to know if I was coming to pick it up and I said no not at 9:00 at night because I'm 81 yr old So after this time I'm not going to use this Walgreens anymore with that kind of service This was at the Walgreens on Cloverdale and Miller in Winston Salem

I would not recommend this pharmacy, at all as well. Note the good reviews were over a year ago…read more Back then they had good customer service, now people seem to lack the minimal or marginal customer service skills, most of them have nasty attitudes. They forget without customers there isn't a job and people have options, i.e. there are other locations and other pharmacies like CVS which is not even a mile away. I've decided today to switch my prescriptions over to CVS, I'm tired of dealing with rude snippy disrespectful clerks, who pick and choose who they are going to be polite to. If I have to get anything from Walgreens it will not be at this location!
