I have ice skated alot of places usually it is just a wrink but this is 5 with two levels and ramps and trails through the park. The trails have LED lights in the ice so you know where to go. Fun for all ages with a live dj and village to get drinks, beer and food. Get your tickets, locker and skate rental online then type in your code at the machine it js much cheaper. The food was great and bar had hot winter drinks I tried a whiskey blueberry beverage with original sausage. Go once the sun is down and all the trees are lit up. Was able to taste the white chocolate punch this time. (Last time was during our annual alcohol free month) and it was delicious. More alcohol than chocolate-just the way I like it. The Kaiserkrainers are also pretty good too. Apart from the usual there are burgers and wraps and a pita stand too just in case you are in the mood for something different. As with last time everyone is very friendly and happy to help. What fun it is to watch the skaters go around and not have to worry about bumping into any of them. Almost as much fun as being on the ice, ALMOST but not quite! Itching to get back on the ice! read more

The skating rink itself is great: the music, the atmosphere, the safety stewards and the blinking arrows under the ice that show you which direction you need to go. We would have had a much better experience if it wasn't for the incredibly uncomfortable rental skates. They do not fit right, either too loose or too tight at the ankle, making it impossible to fix it in the right position, the blades are not sharp. I mean, you can't expect much from the rental skates, but these felt like they were carved out of wood with no consideration of the anatomical structure of a human foot. My feet started to hurt after 10 minutes and I ended up with a blister. Same was for my husband, who said he couldn't stand the pain, as his skates were squeezing his feet. So we left much earlier than we wanted to. We paid 8x2=16 euros for the entrance ticket, 7.5x2=15 euros for the rental skates and 3 euros for the locker. I could see that a lot of locals came with their own skates which is an ideal situation, of course, but for tourists the option of those rental skates is not good. read more

By far, the largest temporary ice skating rink I've ever seen! Every winter, the plaza in front of the Rathaus turns into a giant ice skating track, complete with lockers, toilets, food stands and a warming house. Plywood is laid down over the whole area so skaters can come off the ice and grab a gluhwein or a snack. The atmosphere is festive - they've got music playing and people seemed to be having a great time. Skating is fairly reasonable at EUR $6.50, and they'll rent you skates if you need them. There are a few large "open" areas for skating as well as a long track that winds in and out of the grounds. Though I wasn't in the mood to skate, I absolutely enjoyed watching everyone from small children to seniors go 'round the track. Because it was a chilly day, I also really enjoyed their gluhwein - it was quite a generous mug of tasty hot wine for EUR $4. The Mister had a currywurst which he really liked too. Also available for non-skaters is a carnival ride that takes you up 100' or so to get a great view of the track or the city. If you're visiting during the winter months, the Eistraum is definitely worth a stop! read more

It is a really great place to spend some time after work, or during weekends. You can go there alone, with friends or with family. You can drink, eat and have fun. It's probably difficult to maintain the ice when the temperature are much above 0, but that didn't stop us from trying ice skating at all! The ice was a bit wet in some places. The skates were not very comfortable so I advise to take some thick socks or your own skates. If you choose the wrong size they exchange it without any troubles. read more

For €6.50 for the entire day, where else can you have this much fun with your close on?! Located in front of the Rathaus on the site of the Christkindlmarkt , the ice rink is open from January to mid-March. Rentals vary slightly by age from €4-6.50. Skates can also be rented for about the same price as admission. Lockers are €2 to rent. The location is one of the easiest to get to in the City its on the Burgring right on tram, bus, and U-bahn lines. The track is surprising long and meanders throughout the entire Rathausplatz. There are your usual fast-food choices. I settled on a currywurst and a Radler. The Frau drowned her aching feet in Glühwine. Although we just came here to watch, my wife said that 2-3 more Glühwines and she would have been out there sliding around like the Jamaican Bobsleed team! On a nice winter day, this would be a great activity for families or hand-holding couples. Or you can just watch like we did.
