My child was in attendance here for 5 months & I couldn't get him out soon enough. He was placed in…read morethe 2 year old room because there was an opening there. He was 18 months when he started. My son was bitten several times (a normal thing for toddler, yes, but still an issue). The first time, the staff had no clue it even happened. He had 2 bites on his arm & 2 on his back. I noticed them when I got him home. They were severe enough that they left marks for several days. I KNOW my son must've cried when it happened. When I reached out to the teacher & owner about it, the response was "these things happen. We'll keep an eye on him". when I mentioned that he must've cried when it happened. The response was, "well, he cries sometimes." I let his teacher know that if there was another incident where he was injured or bitten that I wanted to be called immediately so I could pick him up. There were 2 separate biting incidents after that. I was not notified like I had requested. He also scratched his leg while trying to climb under a fence because he was not being watched on the playground. He had 3 different teachers in his class. No introductions were made, nor were the parents notified that there was a change. The general vibe in the daycare is very chaotic and disorganized. My son would come home completely filthy every single day. It looks like they didn't bother to wipe his hands or face at least once during the course of the whole day. One day he came completely covered in marker. On many occasions when I was picking up my son or dropping him off, I would see kids climbing all over the place. On tables, in the cubbies, on the windowsills, etc. It seemed like the teachers had no control of the classroom at all. The daily paper that they offer to tell you what your child's day is like was often forgotten. I would have to remind them almost daily to put it in his bag. They also feed the kids a lot of junk food. The meal for lunchtime was usually pretty good, but the snacks were usually sugary cereals, donuts, cookies, cheese, puffs, etc. So I started providing his own snacks from home, which many times were forgotten and he was fed whatever the rest of the children were eating. The staff were very nice people and I befriended a few of them, but as a Day Care, I would definitely not recommend this business. I will never ever ever send my son there again or recommend someone else go there after the experience I had after a mere five months of enrollment.

Ever since Publix Aprons Cooking School closed, I've been looking for a cooking school that has fun adult classes. The Kitchen House has just started a monthly "book club" called Plot to Plate where they feature a book that relates to or includes recipes. This month was Lessons in Chemistry so my friends and I decided to attend. We bought our tickets in advance as classes can sell out. The classes are different prices depending on what the class is. The house is in a residential neighborhood in College Park and does not have a dedicated parking lot so I would suggest getting there early as you have to find a spot along the street. When we arrived, we were greeted and given a welcome drink, in this case Cardamom Decaf Coffee because it was cold out. One of the instructors said that normally we would walk the garden at the beginning of class and also eat outdoors but since it was cold, we were going to skip the garden and eat inside. Once everyone arrived (cooking classes can have up to 20 people), we met in the lobby to start talking about different themes of the book. Then it was time to wash up and go to the kitchen. All the ingredients were set out for us and we picked the Veggie Pot Pie table with other attendees. The instructor gave us some knife skills lessons and then we all started cooking, using the recipes at our station. Each station makes one recipe so you don't get to make everything. And, the instructors and volunteers don't show you how to make everything first (like Publix Aprons used to do). But, if you just dig in and start going, it is a lot of fun. We had some questions along the way, like is there a spatula we can use? Or, is this the flour or the cornstarch? The volunteers were great and answered everything in a friendly way. As it said you could do in the welcome email we received before the class, some folks brought their own wine and the Kitchen House provided glasses and would pour for you. I think if we go back, we would definitely bring our own wine. My friends and I made the drop biscuits for the Veggie Pot Pie, which were surprisingly easy to make. We were finished early so we also make the Brownies for dessert that used olive oil and maple syrup instead of butter and sugar. When everyone was done cooking, we gathered in the lobby again while the volunteers cleaned and set up the table for dinner. Then, it was time to eat! Dinner was served buffet style and the Kitchen House split our food for people who had different dietary restrictions. For example, some of the recipes used non-dairy alternatives as some people in the class were lactose intolerant and one person had a mushroom allergy so they got a small spinach gallette instead of the mushroom Gallette for everyone else. As we sat down to eat, we discussed the book more in depth. Everything tasted great and we had a wonderful time. We received all the recipes in an email after the class so we could make the foods at home. I will definitely be looking at other adult classes here.

I went with my classmates for medical school and we made 2 different types of spaghetti- one had meat (very good, picture 1) and the other was vegetarian (wasn't terrible, picture 2). I was very open about that before enrolling him. He was new to our family at the time and we weren't even sure how extensive his hindrances were. I was led to believe that they were equipped to provide a positive and constructive atmosphere for ALL children no matter their circumstance. He was left alone in a bathroom long enough to lift the toilet tank lid and break it. Twice. He was suspended for this. The first time there was no incident report, this led me to believe it was, in fact, not the second time. His teacher confirmed that it was the first time. I came in to find a decorated member of the management team yelling at him as he was curled in a ball on the floor. This is not an appropriate way to treat a 3 year old or any child for that matter. He got hurt on the playground and there was no explanation about exactly what happened to him. Simply "he says his shoulder hurts". He broke his clavicle. After our trip to the er when I called to let them know he wouldn't be coming back, they said they understood and seemed to show some concern. Until the next day when we received several phone calls asking "When will you be coming in to pay for him?" No child deserves to be left alone here.

We had to place our older daughter to a new daycare when her old daycare shut down due to COVID. When this happened, our youngest was only 4 months old and we were not ready to put her into daycare yet. When our youngest turned 10 months old, we enrolled her into La Petite as well. She has been there for about 6 months now. I love how they provide all the food (breakfast, lunch, and snacks), as well as all the formula, diapers, wipes, etc for the younger children. It's all included in your tuition; which I find to be the cheapest around for all that you are getting with tuition. They also accept ELC which is a huge plus since both my girls get ELC. My oldest is always happy to come home from school and loves all her teachers & friends. I could tell a huge difference from her old preschool to this preschool. My oldest told me how her old teachers from her old preschool weren't always nice to her, but these teachers here at La Petite have always been nice to her. During COVID, they take everyone's temperature at the door, they all wear masks, and no one is allowed in the building (unless paying your tuition at the front desk with a mask on). I know my oldest would tell me if she did not like it here & that has not been the case! Would definitely recommend to anyone. Five stars all the way!!!!
