Plus I enjoyed walking in the woods and hearing the birds I wish I could have spent more time and did more photography with the nature and birds also. This was our first day in Ireland and we had a long way to go to get to Cork where we were staying the night. But I'm glad we stopped by here and if you are interested in sculpture I hope you have the time to give it a look.

The Indian Sculpture Park, or Victoria's Way, is a 22 acre park that includes small lakes, forested areas, a "philosophy maze" of messages on wooden signposts, and of course, a large collection of fabulous granite and bronze sculptures. The sculptures range in size from 5ft to 15ft tall. The sculptures are a beautiful fusion of Indian spiritual beliefs, philosophical concepts, humour and playfulness, and amazing craftsmanship. I was genuinely blown away and moved by the whole experience of being in this wonderful place. Victor Langheld, the owner and curator, advises that the park is ideally visited at the age of 28 (or over!). Take from that what you will :) I don't want to say too much more about this park as I feel it is something to be experienced, not just to be read about. Can I just live here? Pretty please?…read more Situated just ten minutes from Gorey, Seafield is the perfect relaxing escape. From the outside this place doesn't look like the luxurious haven that exists inside but let me assure you...looks surely are deceiving in this case. The spa really is the place of dreams if you are looking for sheer relaxation. The thermal suites rival any of the others I've visited, with an extensive heated hydrotherapy pool, 14 treatment rooms, outdoor heated pool and several saunas and steam rooms. The staff are excellent and are able to answer any of your skin-related questions with no hesitation, I would strongly advise you to get a treatment while you are here to complete the experience. There is also a Spa Cafe (always back to the food) which serves the same menu as the bar. There's a good selection of sandwiches, salads and hot dishes to suit every taste. I had a smoked chicken bagel which was really tasty and best of all you don't even have to change out of your robe to have your lunch. We had the Afternoon Tea on the first day here and it was perfect, a nice selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes and as much tea as you can handle. I couldn't fault the rooms, they were spotless and very well maintained. The golf course seemed really popular, and if you fancy a hit of sea air Ballymoney beach is only a 15 minute walk through the grounds. The only possible criticism I can find for this place is that there's barely any phone signal in any of the rooms. Some might argue that this is exactly what you want from a relaxing escape but it's not great if you need to make a call. Saying that, I didn't feel like it was worth taking a star off as everything else was perfect!

A real escape from the real world…read more.. I found this hidden gem a few years ago and since then, I can't stop going back. Just an hour from Dublin and ten minutes from the lovely town Gorey. It's not just a hotel it's an escape. The location is set beside the beach which is an added bonus in summer months but personally I love to visit here in winter in the dull cold rainy days as it makes the visit even more cosy and relaxing. The entrance is grand. The staff are always so lovely and helpful and the food is so tasty and the spa- pure luxury. I'd gotten a fab price on the black Friday deals so we went here on a Sunday evening (my favorite night to spend away. What better place to wake up on a Monday). Our room was cosy and the perfect temperature and had a huge bath with a rainfall shower in it. As soon as we arrived we went straight to the spa to relax, and that we did. The Oceo spa has won many awards and it's my favorite part of the hotel. It boasts a warm watered pool with Jacuzzi jets, steam room, saunas, rain showers and an outdoor hot tub with jets. The perfect spot to unwind. We went for dinner in the bar. You can't book a table which is fine we had a drink at the bar till one became available. We shared a started of chicken wings and garlic dip. The portion was perfect for sharing. The sauce on the wings was yum and the garlic dip was a nice accompaniment. We both got the lamb shoulders for mains. These came with the creamiest mash beans and gravy. Absolutely delicious. My favorite dinner this year so far. The lamb fell apart! Dessert we shared a tart with mascrapone and elderflower ice cream sorbet-devine. 5/5 for the food alone. Breakfast came with the stay price and was a huge buffet of meats cheeses, smoked salmon, fruits, jams, yogurt and the usual sausage, eggs, bacon and the rest you can imagine. It offered everything. Before breakfast we even got a sneaky trip in to the spa which set us up to enjoy it even more. After checkout we did the beach walk to stretch the legs. As I said I've been here before. It never fails to deliver in all areas and didn't this time. It'll always be a favorite of mine if I'm ever in need of a break away.

If you get a chance do not miss playing this course. Bring plenty of ammunition however because if…read morethe wind is blowing off the Irish Sea this course is as challenging as it gets. The designer, Pat Ruddy, is a genius when it comes to course design. You need to really think your way around this course. If you are used to playing parkland courses where you blast away, forget it on this course. The first rule is keeping it in the fairway because if you don't, the ball is history. The holes along the water are simply spectacular. Greens are in top flight condition with some unique features (at least from my perspective) such as having a small bunker in once portion of the green. As you can imagine, the approach shot is key here. The club house is small and functional. After the round best to head back towards Dublin for a pint since the club house amenities are limited. Believe me; do not miss an opportunity to play this one.

My nephew plays in the club and wow they work so hard to keep the grounds so great. The best of…read morepitches grass and Astro. The committee work so hard to be recognized and relevant in the football scene. They also coach and manage all for nothing each team trains at least twice a week then a match usually weekly. It's such a great way for kids, teens and adults to keep fit, socialize and compete. Well done to everyone involved!! Great to see strong community spirit in your home community
