I have been to various acupuncturists before, but never experienced this level of care. Bok Nam really listens and takes her time to understand and research the problem, never in the rush and gives you full attention for the whole duration you are there. The office is super clean and in the great location, right by the Coolidge corner T stop. I already sent my husband there and would recommend Bok Nam to anyone who needs help.

Dr. Liu is gentle and explains where he's placing the needles as he goes. Part of acupuncture treatment includes the doctor leaving the office after the needles are placed for about fifteen minutes. I think that information is helpful-especially if it's your first treatment. I've actually fallen sleep during this short period of time! His office accepts insurance coverage so worth checking out if your plan covers it. Holding back a star because it's tough to schedule appointments during the week. Availability trends between 10 -4 and each treatment is about an 45 mins to an hour start to finish. There are Saturday appointments available,however, and that's what I've been taking advantage of. Treatment rooms are clean and private. Abundant parking in the back of the building on Reservoir Ave. To get to the point, I'd recommend this office (;

I met Marisa in the midst of a recent dark time when my old companion, Anxiety, came calling, and…read morebrought a new friend, Panic Attack. Meeting Marisa proved to be a lifesaver. Her intelligence, knowledge, competence, confidence, kindness, and humor provided the help, support, and treatment I needed to start rebuilding. Hypnoacupuncture gave me relief and a new direction: as the acupuncture works on the present anxiety and physical body, the hypnosis works on the future by directing the subconscious mind. Marisa honed in on where I wanted to go next. In this way, she's like the coach you didn't know you needed; a good coach helps you move forward in such a way as to shorten the learning curve. As Marisa brings her top game, she carries her patients along with her. Since receiving treatments, I've learned to reallocate the anxious energy and use it more effectively and productively. I'm back to chasing my goals and dreams in ways I haven't previously. I thank Marisa daily for her talents and her magic.

I'm honestly not someone who usually writes reviews, but my experience with Marisa has been so…read moreimpactful that I felt like I had to share. I drive over an hour each way to see her and it's been so worth it. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep. I've seen such drastic improvements that I genuinely feel like I have a new baseline. I feel so much more in control of my anxiety now and honestly like a completely different person than I was just a few months ago. It's been truly life changing. I honestly wish I could see her weekly. The closest way I can describe how you feel leaving a session is like you just had a massage; you're so relaxed, grounded, and at ease. Marisa has truly touched my life. She is genuinely an angel. She listens, she cares deeply, and she is incredibly dedicated to her clients. If she doesn't have an answer right away, she always follows up, whether by email or the next time you see her, which says so much about the level of thought and attention she gives. I don't feel comfortable around many people, but there's something about her energy that is so light and reassuring. She creates such a safe, welcoming environment, and it makes all the difference. I'm so grateful to have found her and truly can't recommend her enough.
