Sold out to rise broadband. Wichita online was decent but rise broadband is what you pick when there are no other choices

In the one year that I had them as my provider, it was a dreadful experience. The service was out all the time. I mean, it was WEEKLY. Rude, rude, rude people in the office. No credit when service is out for DAYS. The speed is NEVER what they say it is (you can do your own Ping tests and see that). Overpriced, badly managed. The ONLY reason they are in business is that they have NO competition in some locations or they are the cheapest. Well, you get what you pay for. In 20 years of internet service through 10 states and at least 15 providers, Wichita Online is the worst I ever experienced. I filed no less than THREE BBB complaints against them. That was the ONLY way to get credits for non-existent service and get someone to take my issues seriously. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. Mediocre internet with mediocre service. I lost my internet from December through January and was still charged $50 a month as if I had service. I was repeatedly informed that I would be credited for the time I was without service and that turned out to be an empty promise. After three months of contesting the issue I reluctantly paid for those months I was without service because my bill kept showing I owed for those months. I still have their horribly weak internet as they are the only providers for this area. I hope soon someone else swoops in and rescues us because the ONLY reason someone would deal with their garbage is because they have no other alternative. Absolutely disappointed. read more

I must say I agree completely with the negative reviews. I live on the outskirts of Chickasha and have had Wichita Online for 5 years and nothing but problems with the service. Weekly the Internet is out, always the same excuses....servicing the towers, a lot of people are online, semi trucks knocked out poles, and so forth. I've always called in complain and like the other reviewers never was I credited for being without Internet for days. The customer service within the office is rude and don't seem to really care about your problems. Now I must say my technician was always on spot. Coming out when needed and troubleshooting the issues. It would work for a few days to a week then back to the normal slow unreliable Internet. I only keep this provider cause I don't want Wild Blue (dish) Internet either. Can't believe I get faster internet with my Celluar device than my home internet company. This company needs to invest in better and more reliable technology. Consumer beware. read more

This company doesn't even deserve a 1* rating. This is the worst excuse for an internet company I have ever seen in my life. The service is horrible and only works some of the time. Customer service is non existant and about the rudest bunch I've ever seen. Tech support never shows up when they say they will and when you call to have them try to help you out over the phone Most of them do not know what they are doing. Usually you will have to call at least 3-4 times before they will show up BUT they sure want their money on time. You will never get credit for your service being down. They will tell you they will submit a request for credit to be approbed but it never is. Do your research and try to find another provider for your area but DO NOT SIGN UP with this company. They are the worst company every. I have the gold package and it doesn't do what they claim it will....that is if I even have service at all. read more

I needed something faster than my current TDS (which they cap in this area). I called Wichita online and the man was very nice. He was patient, kind.. a great attitude! But he told me they had to do a signal test and the ONLy way to get a signal test was to WAIT for a tech who was already in my area servicing or installing someone else? Made no sense. 2 weeks went by i called them back-the lady told me"THAT's not what he said!" She then "told me" what he said as repeated to me EXACTLY what I'd just told her. Fine, whatever, set me up. i need internet. the next lady I was transfered to was worse. How the heck does she have a job?! I felt bad for having to call her. I had interupted her day. i had made her actually type up an installation order. I could FEEl her seething over the phone. Her lip was probably snarled up and her eyes cutting. I was NOTHING but a waste of her time. I ended up telling her no thanks.. if this is what I can expect from this company.. I do NOT want it. I'll suck it up with TDS's capped capacity issues, at least they are kind, honest, and working to make improvements. The others are right, this company doesn't even deserve a 1..if not for the first gentleman who had an ounce of kindness or more. I would give it less than a 1 star if it were an option. Horrible excuse for a company. The speed is no where close to stated plan speed. Goes down continually. Calling them to get it repaired they always think it's your home equipment, but always turns out to be their towers. They skimp on the tower equipment. They want money without providing a product. Getting credit for no service days never happens. Horrible company. Go with another internet provider if an option. read more
