Reason given was "it is our first day back from the holiday and things are backed up." Ok, fair. But there can be better communication if there is going to be this type of delay. They are all about their athletes and celebrities it seems, and I'm guessing they wouldn't be waiting an hour to be seen. Arrived here as a walk 8n, signed in and the lady said to have a seat, there's about a 45 minute to…read more1 hour wait, I said n9 problem, then I sat down and waited. 1.5 hours later she calls me up and asked me if my insurance is still the same, I tell her yes and she says well there's no copay, I'm not sure why that is as my plan has a copay which I've used here on the prior 2 visits, she proceeds to tell me that I have to put my debit card on file in case the insurance company doesn't pay part of the bill. Side note, had i been told that when I arrived 1.5 hours earlier it would have been different, but they wait until you are about to be seen and then tell you, sorta leaves you with your hands tied as you're in pain. She gets a hold of her manager and management states if you want to be out of pain you'll do as your told, so I did (as I was in excruciating pain) but I wrote on the form they were forcing me to sign that I was doing this in protest and why, I hand it back to her and again they refuse to see me until I sign a new form without my protest on the form. Again if I wasn't in this much pain for this long I would have walked out. In short they do this in a predatory way as they maje you wait to tell you this after you've been here for a good while, knowing that most people will go ahead and give them a blank check. Please see photos of form that they wouldn't accept. This should be and possibly is highly illegal, and if not illegal it's certainly not ethical!!! Fast foward to the care that was provided. Everyone is came i to contact with after I got passed the front desk were GREAT! You don't tell a client who has a history of BP spiking when seeing a healthcare provider that they'll need to leave after one reading. That automatically spikes it more. I was upfront that my BP spikes when I know a needle is coming (same as when I visit my physical therapist, my dentist, my pcp, etc). She wasn't even going to let me do a second reading, so of course my anxiety went up. As I mentioned, every other place I've gone to it drops significantly after the 1st reading BECAUSE the person is calm. If this is your lead, then a better bedside manner should be discussed. Procedures and protocols are essential, but how you carry them out and service clients is the key difference maker. Had planned to do my annual IV infusion prior to the Peachtree Road Race, so called and booked an appointment for day before race. Easy process and receptionist was nice. I arrived for my appointment and got checked in. The place is a bit smaller than some of the others I've been to but still nice. Receptionist was nice and offered water while i waited in the room to get my blood pressure checked by the nurse. I let the nurse know that i had a history of high bp and it always spikes when i see a doctor (especially knowing a needle is coming). I'm very much inflicted by white coat syndrome. In all my visits to other IV infusion places, my bp is high on the first reading and then drops, and the nurse is calm about it and says, "we'll wait until it lowers". But on this visit, the nurse told me, "you'll have to come back another day" after my first reading, which of course spiked it more and i had to ask her to check it again in a few. Not shockingky, it was higher on the second reading. She then said i needed to leave. As a competitive runner, i know my body very well and my medical history. I've had an echocardiogram and stress test done in the past few years bc of my bp and have a great cardiologist. I've covered my bases and have a fairly strict diet. To have a 20 something year old tell me "I'm on the verge of stroke levels" after me telling her about my history is kind of insulting. The receptionist was super nice as i was leaving and apologized, so thats one saving grace, but i will not be back to this location.
