Today we have gone to book our spa treatments to be told that the spa is not included. This was not clear at all and we even contacted them a few weeks ago to book treatments for the Spa day and were told that we would be able to book on the day with no mention of the fact our stay did not include the spa. Furthermore, the FAQ specifically on our booking mentions that the heat and ice experience are not recommended for pregnant people, which would indicate it was included. We have tried speaking to someone, have offered to pay extra to be told no. It's a 2 1/2 hour drive for a hotel stay for over £200 and due to the rudeness will not be going and will be contacting our bank. Really disappointed. This is the same package we have booked over the previous 5 years. I would not recommend and they have lost a faithful customer!

Very nice indeed, but the spa was much too busy. We went on a Sunday. A single supplement is a whopping £60. It's a large hotel with a very strange system of room numbering and a maze of corridors on two floors. If you expect your room starting with a '4' to be on the fourth floor, then you will not find it as there is no fourth floor, it is all on the second floor, and the numbers do not go in any order, luckily the number signage is very good or you would end up all night going round and round! The Whisper Area with hanging chairs and water beds was a lovely area to relax in, except it was spoilt by the heavy footfall and people laughing and talking as the spa was much too busy. The Heat and Ice was an experience, although did not see anyone doing the Ice experience! Again this area is too busy, the jacuzzi was packed and you had to wait for everything like the hot seat, the stone bed (didn't do anything for me), the foot spa, and the sauna, steam, crystal rooms were all very full and felt quite uncomfortable with too many bodies. I did not go to the pool area which was on a different level, as it was jammed packed with bodies. The treatment waiting area was much, much nicer, as less people and quiet. I had the body massage which was excellent. The buffet lunch was average, salads and cold meats. We had the last sitting at 2pm so the food was not as fresh as if you had the first sitting and mostly had ran out. The dinner was much better, waiter service and I absolutely loved my Orzo Pasta starter with sun dried tomatoes, artichoke, red pepper coulis. It was absolutely delicious. Wish they did it as a main as it was just not enough. For mains I had the braised brisket of beef, which came as a large block, looks weird and it was much too salty. It came with herb crushed baby potatoes which was perfect and delicious, roast shallot, a couple of leaves of kale and red wine jus. I had to ask for more kale since it was very bland, it helped me to eat the very salty beef otherwise, I would not have been able to eat it! For dessert, I had the maple and pecan sponge, tonka bean ice cream. Alas, the small scoop of ice cream was almost liquid by the time it came, and the maple syrup was much too sweet for my taste. So a very hit and miss meal. The buffet breakfast was very good, with plenty of choices, from black pudding to hash browns, scrambled eggs, the whole works for the hot choices, and Continental for the cold. All in all a relaxing time spent for a friend's special birthday. Missed the little details though in the rooms, no little bottles of body lotion or shower cap. If you forget to bring, these are really useful, and I had to buy flip flops for the spa, as I forgot my own! But it came with a nice holdall. May be visit again during week days when it is less busy and go out to eat!

Silverstone, the home of Motorsport, the home to the Formula 1 British Grand Prix…read more I have been lucky enough to attend the last 3 British grand Prix at Silverstone and it just gets better every year. The facilities are fantastic, with more and more being added. There are lots of bars, fast food stalls, merchandise stands and entertainment to keep you occupied while the track is empty. The food and drink is reasonably priced for any major sporting event, a pint will cost you roughly £4 and a meal will be around £6. The beauty of Silverstone is that you can bring your own, provided it is not in a glass bottle or container, you are welcome to bring it with you. The of track entertainment side of things has greatly improved over the last couple of years, this year Madness played on the Thursday night and there were other concerts on the Friday and Saturday evening. I love this place, its a petrol heads dream so I will always be slightly bias with my review but if you have any interest in speed, make sure you make at least 1 trip to Silverstone. I've booked for next year already and will be returning in August for the MotoGP

Recently went to Silverstone circuit for the British Grand Prix. It was my 1st ever time attending…read morean F1 race. We stayed the whole weekend, staying in the campsite next door. (This review will partly be about the F1 race (and other motorsport) and the different activities/events etc associated with the Formula 1). The food options in Silverstone during the weekend were pretty much as you may expect - burgers, pizzas etc - so it was not the most healthy weekend! Some of the food was actually decent, some not as much. For example, had a burger from one place and it was really tasty -even if it was from a restaurant - never mind a van. But then a burger from another place was not good. One problem with Silverstone, but hard to do much about it, is that its a pretty flight area - so some of the public access places where people stand/sit to watch, you don't get the best view. As well as the F1 race (and the qualifying and practices), you can see the GP2 and GP3 series and also the Porsche Cup. With the F1 cars being a bit quieter nowadays, I didn't need to earplugs I bought. (Although I did need to just when stood in a particular place watching the GP2 qualifying). As well as the motorsport to watch, there is the F1 Village area with the big stage with different music acts on different days and also the Drivers Forum where drivers turn up and see the fans, answer questions, sign autographs etc. Also, the Typhoon Air Display was very impressive. As was the Red Arrow display - although not as good as the Typhoon - also, because of where we were stood (near podium), most of the display of the Red Arrows was behind the main new pit building - so didn't so much of it!
