My wife and I had the joy of working with Micaela and her partner, Chris, for our marriage ceremony in August 2023 at the Marin Civic Center. From our first online inquiry, we had an exploratory call with Micaela the same morning. She asked insightful questions and listened attentively, then Emailed us a draft schedule/flow for our photoshoot day. We sought private photos as a couple, followed by photos of our wedding ceremony. I explained that in the hour leading up to the ceremony, I needed to step away to arrange chairs and coordinate with my officiant. My wife, meanwhile, wanted a final photo of just our wedding cake at the reception (at a nearby restaurant). Micaela took everything in stride, reassuring me that every wish we had could come true without ever changing our budget. On the day of the shoot, my wife and I were running a few minutes late. Micaela helped put us at ease, like a long-time friend. Chris brought along a rolling cart to free our hands of belongings. Micaela found beautiful angles, highlighting us against the breathtaking architecture of the Civic Center. As the afternoon progressed and the sun shifted in the sky, she at times led us back to prior spots to catch follow up shots with the evolving light. In the hour between our private shoot and our ceremony, she and Chris captured candids of our family members as they trickled in. Micaela also coordinated with my officiant to help us determine the most photogenic placement of the chairs, relative to the backdrop. After the ceremony, Micaela stayed behind with us to capture countless additional family portraits. At the restaurant, they were only required to photograph our cake, yet they stayed longer and captured extra photos of the start of our reception dinner. Micaela's final work product was over 500 professionally edited photos and over 60 film captures, the latter providing a very unique "retro" look. We were so impressed with her warmth, her communicativeness, her technical and artistic proficiency, and her generosity to give us more than was required. The coolest thing about Lindsey and Nate is how they captured the essence of Mariel and George. Mariel and George are not the typical couple. Lindsey and Nate got that right away and their photography reflects that. The other thing I want to mention is that we were not aware of Lindsey and Nate taking all the candid photos at the wedding. They were so stealth and professional. The most important element is that they captured everything in the most beautiful way without feeling intrusive. Although I must say, I wouldn't have minded if they were intrusive. Lindsey and Nate are so fun and easy to be around!!

My dress was slipping down at the wedding and Lindsey was the first person to bring me upstairs to fix it. Nate was fabulous with the ring bearers who were 3 and 5 years old. I remember when we toured our venue for the first time and we weren't able to see the getting ready…read morerooms, so I went on google and searched for photos and a blog post from 1985Luke Photography popped up. As I was looking through the photos from their blog post, I started tearing up like crazy and was hoping that our photos would come out something close to theirs. Funnily enough, I didn't know that they would be the most recommended photographer for our venue. I remember going back and forth due to the price, but you do get the both of them (Luke and Bre) for 8 hours, and we actually added an additional hour as well so we could get photo coverage of our first dance. Although my husband's parents covered the cost of photography, I would've happily paid for it because of how incredible our photos came out, and our overall experience working with them. I first met Bre over a video call and she was so kind and easy to talk to that I felt like our hour-long consultation went by so quickly. We did our engagement photoshoot at Filoli (I was running 30 minutes behind due to a last-minute hair & makeup addition), and they still waited for us on a VERY hot day, which I greatly appreciated. My husband and I were both a little nervous since neither one of us had done a professional photoshoot before, but Luke and Bre really made the two of us very comfortable the entire time, and we absolutely loved our engagement photos. Fast forward to our wedding day, they came in and knew exactly what to do since they've worked at our venue so many times before. I really liked how they weren't all up in our faces during our wedding, and I genuinely feel like I didn't notice them at all. As an events person myself, I absolutely loved the timeline that Bre sent over - it was so helpful to see the schedule for the day and every time I thought we were falling behind, Bre reassured us that we weren't. We received our wedding photos back in less than a month (so quick!) and I was surprised to receive over 1,600 photos. We almost didn't hire professional photographers and I am so grateful we did. I can't imagine not having our amazing photos (which they provided to us SUPER quick after the wedding!!). Perhaps the best part was how calm and helpful they were on the day of the wedding. After we were married and were walking back down the aisle, I had a weird moment of panic since everyone was staring at us and I asked Luke "where do we go? what do we do now?!" and he calmly said "just go inside", with a smile. As the first reviewer put it: Liz ROCKS! She also happened to be one of my favorite wedding vendors of all time. Here's why: 1. Easy going - she was very easy to work with and we felt comfortable communicating our "vision" to her without feeling like we were being the stereotypical paranoid and overly nitpicky betrothed couple (which I admit we were . . . or okay I was). 2. Responsive - returned our e-mails and phone calls promptly and was easily accessible. 3. Professional - she asked us in advanced for our preferred shot list (mostly for the posed pics), showed up on time the day of, was courteous to our bridal party and all of our guests and was everywhere but virtually invisible (to me at least) during the ceremony and the reception. And the shots were beautiful! She also didn't roll her eyes at me when I gave her my play-by-play itinerary on an Excel spreadsheet :) 4. Quality - like I said: when I look at my pictures, I always feel a sense of gratitude for having Liz shoot our wedding. I found her from a wedding photojournalist association website and if you're looking for someone to capture "the day", she's the gal. More than the posed pics, I love looking at the candid pics she took of us and our guests. Like the one she took during one of the speeches where some people are clapping, some are laughing and some are wiping the tears (of laughter? of heartfelt emotion?) from their eyes - all in the same shot! We didn't have a videographer but her pics make up for the moments that I feel I missed during the whole whirlwind event.
