I worked with Donna to take pre-wedding photos and had a great experience. She's lovely, fun, and easy to work with. We took photos at two locations--one of them being at SF city hall. It was busy that day, but she is very efficient which I really appreciated. I also noticed she was kind to the other photographers working that day while somehow still getting us to be the first in line to shoot at popular spots. I really liked how much of a go getter she was, but still down to earth at the same time. It made me like her even more, in addition to the great work she already produces. The time flew by because we had so much fun. We hired Studio Opia for our engagement photo and wedding photo shoot. Daniel did a great job on both shooting! We kind of decided that we want to do engagement photo on the last minute, and they are kind enough to squeeze our shooting into their schedule and did a wonderful job. They are very experienced and know all the great places for good pictures. We took great use of the two-hour engagement session and got tons of great pictures! On the day of our wedding, they are very professional and taught us how we should pose. And they coordinated with our video guys very well. There are several things that I really appreciate about. Firstly, they are very efficient. They delivered our engagement photo a week after our shooting so we could use them on our wedding sign-on table. They also finish and sent me several pictures only couple days after our wedding so I can post them on social media. The final delivery was in about one month time after our wedding. Secondly, Daniel and Donna are both great people. During the shooting, after so many hours of smiling, our smile were just stiff and frozen. Donna brought up some great jokes that made all of us laugh so hard. Beside the jokes, they made a lot of effort so that we could be more natural on camera. First of all, I'm obsessed with my pet bunny Charlie. So when I was presented with the chance to have studio photos taken with him, I was all in. This is the first time I ever really took studio photos for anything and am happy to say I had lots of fun! The studio we took photos at is located in the garage of Daniel & Donna's (I'm gonna refer to them as D&D) townhouse. It was clean, spacious and professional-looking. They have all sorts of photography & lighting equipment. There's also a sofa where your squad can sit and watch the photo-shoot. D&D are super friendly, professional, and accommodating. I came into the session not really knowing what to expect and didn't really prepare anything. Luckily D&D have ideas and they even made a fresh flower crown for Charlie!!! The session took around 1 - 1.5 hours and we got the retouched photos 3 days later. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL. Charlie looks like a high fashion model and the photos look like they come out of Kinfolk magazine for bunnies. I AM IN LOVE. Thank you so much D&D for making this experience super fun! They are both super talented and even though they have been mostly doing human / non-animal related photography, they were open to my request to photo-shoot Charlie. Where do I start with Studio OPiA. After I got engaged, I spent at least 20 hours searching for a wedding photographer, which turned out to be the most stressful time of the entire wedding planning. The ones I liked were simply too expensive, and I wasn't in love with the work of the ones who were within my budget. I was getting really upset, and that's when my MUA referred me to Studio OPiA. Hands down the best referral anyone could ever ask for. I still can't believe how reasonably priced Studio OPiA is and they kept exceeding our expectations in every single way. Let me explain... Engagement, we had our engagement photo session in Carmel. Anyone who has done some research would know that any other photographer would only allocate 2 hours per engagement session and the price is anywhere between $600 to $1200. When we first met Daniel and Donna, they seemed really nice and told us that they love what they do, so they are happy to drive down to Carmel spending an entire day with the couple. Did you get that, an ENTIRE day. They did drive us down to Carmel, and we spent an entire day together, obviously having lots of fun! I had 3 different looks and we went to 3-4 locations. You can find our session pictures on their website! Everybody absolutely loved the pictures! I was very looking forward to having them at our wedding, and of course, they only exceeded expectations, again. Wedding: Daniel and Donna arrived around noon, and our wedding ceremony was at 6pm. Therefore, it's pretty safe to say that once again they went beyond and above and stayed with us from noon till 10pm. Yes, that's 10 hours! Which other photographers do that? I remember when I was researching for photographers, most of them offered 6 or 8 hours, which clearly isn't enough, not to mention we didn't even have a tea ceremony. Anyways, back to Daniel & Donna. Upon arrival, they started taking pictures of the accessories and our getting ready pictures. They also went to the groom's room and did the same thing. Having them around was simply relaxing, not stressful, and Donna brought my mom a lot of joy. Their focus was on us from start to finish, Daniel ate very quickly so he could come back and take more pictures for us as we went around the tables. Pictures: now let's talk about the pictures. First of, their turnaround time is simply unbelievably fast. I have a friend who still hasn't received their pictures 3 months later. Daniel and Donna provided us the raw pictures within 5 days! All of my friends were shocked that I got my pictures this fast. 1650 wedding pictures and 450 engagement pictures, that's roughly 2000 pictures that were delivered within only a few days. I have no words to explain how much I appreciate them. All of their pictures turned out to be amazing, and honestly did not need to be photoshoped much. I have to choose some pictures for them to photoshop, and it's been difficult to pick, as all of them look flawless! Everyone around us loved the pictures.
