I was seriously compromised by an injury when I began treatment. One specialty at WGA is Sports Acupuncture and reviews indicated success with injuries. At first I alternated physical therapy and acupuncture, one session each week, providing time for my body to adjust after each session. After several months I dropped the physical therapy and continued with acupuncture -- which seemed to offer much more improvement in motion and comfort per visit. When Whitney went on maternity leave, I switched to Laura. Needle placement remains mysterious to me, but they often found places that worked wonders. I've known Whitney for years. She is such an Incredible individual. This spring my allergies were off the chart. She has mentioned every fall/winter that I should see her BEFORE allergy and because we're friends it's pretty easy to blow her off. Right? We've all been there. Sessions are exactly as relaxing as you would hope - appropriate background music to help you focus and help drown out any outside noise (which has never been a problem during my visits) and no interruptions save for one check in to make sure you're comfortable and/or to place additional needles. While I can't imagine acupuncture veterans having any complaints, people who are curious about, but have never experienced, acupuncture should look no further for the perfect introduction. Whitney demonstrates exceptional patience, gladly answering any questions and offering relevant information without ever being condescending or bogging you down with intimidating/unfamiliar information. I had my first visit to Whitney Green Acupuncture and this place is a class act! I came in really skeptical but am already noticing a difference. I have struggled for years with a really tight groin/hip flexor area which has made doing lunges, squats, etc impossible. I first visited Whitney Green Acupuncture to help alleviate stiffness and pain in my hip flexors and lower calf muscles. From the moment I walked into her facility I felt comfortable. Her receptionist asks if you would like a glass of water, they personally walk you back into the treatment room. The treatment room is a nice comfortable temperature that has calming music playing. Prior to treatment, she asks multiple questions about your health, diet, exercise etc. She shows that she truly cares about her patients. Many people have an aversion to needles. Let me just say Whitney has changed my life. I was in a car accident back in June of 2017 and I went through DR visits and chiropractor visits for almost a year trying to get some relief and nothing was working. In March of 2018 my insurance cut me off treatment and so I was left wondering am I going to have to live the rest of my life with back and neck pain. I opted to visit this Acupuncturist after reading all the reviews but I have to say I am not on board with them. While I have no complaints about the office (it was lovely, clean, welcoming, and easy to find) I do have some concerns about the billing practices. I went through insurance and when I received my billing statement from the insurance company I saw that there was the $150 office visit (I was aware that there would be a charge for the office visit due to the time needed for intake and health history). But then there were two separate billings for acupuncture. When I inquired to the office about the reason for two billings it took several weeks (and two inquiries) to get a response. When I did get a response they claimed that they billed each 15 minute treatment separately. Hmmmm. Recommend that you get a full breakdown of the treatment, the costs and what to expect. I've been to other practitioners before and went through insurance as well and never had this kind of billing issue. read more
