My experience is similar to JJ's…read more (some quick background) I have been getting massage for well over 25 years and have grown somewhat picky about who works on me. I can't afford to spend alot of money and time waiting for the therapist to "play catch up". So about Maddy: I found Maddy through a discount Groupon search. I have now seen her for four visits. I have chronic neck, lower back and siatic issues. Maddy is very much in tune with the amount of pressure needed to relieve your pain issues without overdoing it or overworking it. One of my pet peeves in a massage is when they don't pay attention to the detail (fingers, toes, scalp, etc.) Maddy doesn't have this problem, is very open to suggestion; and as noted in JJ's review, Maddy isn't inclined to drone on forever in conversation; she truly seems she'd rather focus on sending you off to slumberland. The only reason I've given Maddy four instead of five stars is that our client/therapist relationship is still new and we're still building that trust. We are still "fine tuning" my massages to meet my needs. If she continues to exceed my expectations, that fifth star isn't far off.

Personally, I also appreciate LMTs that don't feel the need to carry on conversation during the massage, outside of the subject at hand. I prefer to zone out and not engage in a lot of chatting. She does a nice job overall.

Coming into our initial discussion I was damn skeptical, but Dr. Savage put aside a whole hour to…read morewalk me through my condition explaining "Why" I was having so many symptoms that I couldn't understand. He addressed me with respect and explained things with words that I could follow and connect to my severe progressive condition. I've been suffering with peripheral neuropathy for over 20 years and at 71 years old, it's taken over, controlling almost every aspect of my life. Dr. Savage confirmed that what I was feeling was caused by my initial diagnosis, CIDP, Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinated Polyneuropathy. What a mouthful! The loss of feeling in my toes, feet and fingers, falling over because I couldn't keep my balance, weakness in my arms and legs making them like dead weight and perhaps worst of all, was this fatigue thing. Staying in bed half the morning, going through the motions for 7 to 8 hours and slipping into bed by 7 at night! Tingling??? This is more like loss of life! Everything Dr. Savage said made sense and the fact that he has treated many peripheral neuropathy patients with improved symptoms made me confident that I would see improvement too! He explained it would take time, given it took me over 20 years to get to this point. So is it so unreasonable to take months to feel better? Of course not! So I signed up with a commitment to be a better me. Dr. Savage used acupuncture together with something called ATP, electrical stimulation to fix nerve damage and make my blood go around better. While I didn't feel much of a difference during the first month, I began to notice I had more feeling in my feet at 6 to 8 weeks. I could walk better without losing my balance. It's easier to button my shirt, dress myself. Something was happening! By 3 months, it felt easier to use my arms, walk further and that damn fatigue thing began to lift so I could think straight again. I'm not using my 4 legged cane, I can do more for myself and feel like I did years ago. I'll need to come back for regular tune-ups but hey, if they keep me feeling the way I do, I'll be happy to return for whatever adjustments I need. Thanks Doc! Finding you was a Godsend!

I'll bring my review up to date. I gave WGA a 5 previously on a 1 to 5 scale; but on that same…read morescale I now have to raise the rating to a 18.5. During one set of visits WGA was instrumental, with a chiropractor, in taking me from using a walker to mobility. I learned during that set of visits that, while a chiropractor focused on 1 joint at a time, acupuncture the subsequent day exposed distant holding patterns, allowing me to mobilize tissues I had been ignoring. Feeling increasingly vigorous a while later, I took a really dynamic fall -- breaking a wrist and tearing the rotator cuff on the same side. Back to WGA after I healed those tissues but was stiff and moving poorly. Acupuncture the day subsequent to PT again exposed holding patterns, and was instrumental in getting upper body function back. A while later remnants of my many previous bodily insults, some quite old, were demonstrating to this octogenarian male that they could reinforce one another through the spine and fascia to limit motion. Recently I've been doing chiro monthly and using WGA after each visit and between visits, undoing many of those intertied insults and finding much improvement. As I jogged across a parking lot back to my car last week, I decided I should leave a review. And this week is better than last in both strength and ease of movement.
