Literally googled Chinese medicine close to me. If you are looking for all the frills of a modern medical office this isn't your place. But if you look beyond the simple space and trust his practice I find him to be extraordinary. Dr Mao is incredibly intuitive, asks all the right questions and most important to me, he spends all the time that is needed to test and answer any questions I might have. He is so positive he can help and he has helped me so much. I've been using him for about 2 months now and 90% of the time my lungs almost feel normal. He's the real deal. I would recommend him to anyone who is open and willing to give this method a try. Good luck to anyone seeking help on their health you will be in good hands.

I was diagnosed with cancer and while waiting to see the oncologist I decided too see Dr. Mao. The doctor responded to my message within one hour, then scheduled a meeting. He prescribed some herbs for tea's then a return visit two weeks, to review the progression. The doctor gave me relief with my sciatica and circulation in my body and lower extremities. I will continue seeing him for TCM, along with my Urologist and oncologist. He's made me feel normal again and will always be greatful for his expertiseband wisdom.

So I…read moredecided to do something good for my self and look into possible alternative treatments and that's how I discovered Joy at Blue Buddha. I'm a habitual early arriver so when I first arrived for my appointment I didn't see any lights on and thought I better go make sure the place was open. Then it hit me I was walking into the middle of someone else session! Whoops! Sorry about that. The lesson I am trying to convey here is that if your like me and you show up early and notice that the lights are off inside- just be patient- they will come on again. Maybe a door sign might help? Once I got inside Joy introduced herself and we sat down to talk about my issues. She has a very kind and compassionate way of communication. Something I was missing from my regular doctor. After she got a sense of what type of treatment I was looking for I was able to hop on the table and begin my acupuncture treatment. I've never experienced this before and I really didn't know what to expect. But it was painless and really kind of interesting. After everything was said and done Joy sold me some really great products to help with my allergies. Some Chinese herbal supplements and a neti pot for my nose. I went home that night and used the neti pot and took my first dose of supplements. I honestly can't remember the last time I was able to breath that clearly and sleep as deeply as I did. I woke up the next morning feeling well rested and best of all No sneezing or bloody nose. I've since been back to see Joy once again for a follow up and I still feel great. I would highly recommend her services for anyone who is even remotely interested in acupuncture. It doesn't hurt and you leave feeling super mellow. Make sure you have loose fitting clothes when you go. If she offers theta wave music, do it! It just adds a deeper level of relaxation.

At first I alternated physical therapy and acupuncture, one session each week, providing time for my body to adjust after each session. After several months I dropped the physical therapy and continued with acupuncture -- which seemed to offer much more improvement in motion and comfort per visit. When Whitney went on maternity leave, I switched to Laura. Needle placement remains mysterious to me, but they often found places that worked wonders. As of now my mobility and comfort level are vastly improved, and a recommended surgery has been avoided. Needles galore, but a fine experience each visit.
