Nicholas was my massage therapist, he was incredibly talented! I requested deep tissue because of my pain spots, but he can also do Swedish/relaxation massage. He was very kind and patient. I highly recommend him! He's super professional, it's like he's done this for decades. The owner, Tabitha, came in during the massage to give Nicholas some tips, she's super knowledgeable and skilled. I got lucky because I saw him as a student, thus I got such a great deal. As of 2023, he is a regular masseuse there, and he is worth every penny of the full price. If you have neck pain, book your appointment NOW with Tabitha. My neck has been hurting for the past 3+ years. After an initial consultation + series of 8-12, 30 minute sessions with Tabitha - in conjunction with specialized upper cervical chiropractic adjustments (at another office keeping my atlas in place - I have felt virtually pain-free the past month. Background info: I woke up one day with a very sore and stiff neck, which can't be pinpointed to any one incident, like a car accident or fall, but probably developed progressively over time. Since the autumn of 2016, I've seen multiple chiropractors and masseuses to address the neck pain and restricted mobility. While each person has helped me improve and get closer to my goal of less/no pain, I would inevitably hit a plateau or feel like the pain returned fairly quickly after a session. I booked my first appointment with Tabitha earlier this summer for another issue - to see if she could address TMJ and help me work on my jaw. While treating me she helped identify a posterior tongue tie and worked with me to discover the source of my chronic neck pain. Because I'd been actively seeking treatment but the pain had not resolved over many years, it prompted Tabitha to figure out what the true culprit of my chronic neck pain was rather than just chasing after relieving the symptoms.... It turned out to be the muscles along the sides of my body, connecting to my ribs and shoulders that were pulling down and straining my shoulder and neck muscles. No one had thought to check since those "silent killer" muscles never felt sore or "complained." By improving my thoracic rotation it has allowed me more mobility in my neck as well. My Treatment Plan: In the beginning, I started seeing Tabitha 2x week for the first few weeks and then spacing it out as we figured out how to best address the patterns in my body. I see her about once every 2 weeks. She works on parts of my neck that NO ONE has, even those who were self-proclaimed neck experts. She also continues to treat my jaw and tongue as well as the side muscles. What I truly appreciate about Tabitha's holistic approach is how she takes all my health history into account to create a treatment and maintenance plan for me. I still have to be cognizant of posture, moving throughout the day, stretching, using the right pillow at night, etc...but I feel a lasting difference after working with her. I've been going to Soma massage for at least 2 years - thanks to a wonderful recommendation from my sister - and have worked with 3 different masseuses, all very skilled. Well done! Received my second massage from Daniel, and I was surprised that he remembered what he worked on the last time. First massage was roughly a month ago, yet he took notes and asked about my neck. Daniel definitely does a very thorough job, he's professional, friendly and communicative. Fast forward another month. Got my final massage from a 3 pack from Daniel. Conveniently I slept wrong and my neck was stiff. Daniel was able to completely get my neck moving freely without pain. It was amazing and such a relief. The massage overall was never painful, sure there were discomfort in certain muscle groups that were more tight but Daniels massages are more relaxing than pain. Several years ago I had an awkward massage at Soma and decided I had better options. Over the years they have sent me a ton of emails and finally in November I decided to make another appointment since they had a new student practitioner program. It was inexpensive and I thought, hey, I should give them another go. Went to my appointment only to find the door locked near their sign. Already felt unwelcoming. Ran around looking for another open door. I arrived to find everyone in massage rooms... waited. Waited. Waited. Someone emerged. Only to tell me, oh we canceled all those appointments. Didn't you get an email? Obviously if I drove 30 mins and sat here for another 30, I didn't. Just checked my email to make sure. No cancellation. Last email confirmed my appointment. I received my first massage from Soma today. Daniel did a fantastic job! I would highly recommend him. He definitely seems to know his anatomy and everything he did felt really good. He seemed to have "intuitive" hands and I left the massage feeling super relaxed. Daniel was polite, professional and responsive to my preferences in terms of where to massage and how much pressure to use. I will definitely book with him again. The massage room itself is calm and cozy, with a heated massage table. I wish the walls were a little less thin (you can hear conversations in the adjoining suites), but honestly my massage was so good, it didn't matter. Jen is amazing! I was luckily enough to find Soma massage through a Groupon. I used to get just random Groupon massages but Jen really gets the pressure and tension points. She knows exactly where I'm extra tense or off balance and will point it out. She has great amount of pressure when massaging but will always ask how the pressure is to make sure you're getting the best experience! I always leave feeling refreshed and re-centered. There is a private lot for the businesses there (soma massage is located on the lower level, just take the elevator). Although this place is a little out of the way for me, I keep finding myself coming back. I would definitely recommend!! read more

Excellent massages for a decent value in a lovely atmosphere. Someone is always quick to respond to me when I have questions, whether it be via e-mail, text, or phone call. However, two of the massage therapists I've gone to have talked to me almost the entire time during the service and I found it hard to relax. I just want to close my eyes and have peace and quiet during the massage. I don't know why some therapists feel the need to talk the entire time. It seems like they're uncomfortable with the silence or something. Then I feel pressure to engage in conversation when they keep talking to me. I will say this is not exclusive to Soma. It happens to me everywhere. People keep wanting to talk to me, which is nice, but unnecessary for massages, pedicures, etc. I don't know if I will be back to Soma again unless I can find a masseuse who is not chatty. read more

I booked my massage with Jennifer N through Groupon and I was very disappointed. She was very kind and sweet, but despite the fact that I told her I typically doze during a massage, she was super chatty. She also didn't understand when I told her that my lateral quads were tight, and instead focused on my adductors (inner thigh), and she completely skipped my low back even though I specifically asked for that. 5 stars for the quality of service; 3 for ambience/environment. I went to Soma the first time due to a Groupon. Daniel was the only massage therapist available at times that fit my schedule. I wasn't thrilled with having a male therapist, but I was in desperate need of body work, so I tried to keep an open mind. I'm glad I did. Daniel is great! In fact, I've now started booking a monthly 90 minute massage with him. When you go for the first time, follow the detailed directions in the confirmation email. GPS will get you to the building, but the signage in the building is very confusing once you're there. For those who care about aesthetics, you should know that this isn't a full blown spa. The building appears old and Soma Massage is comprised of a tiny "lobby" and a few massage rooms. There's no receptionist, etc. It is well kept and clean and comfortable, but it isn't luxurious. I love the quality of my massages, but if you're looking for the pampering upscale spa experience, you may want to look elsewhere. Need someone to work out the kinks and don't care about appearances? Tabitha is INCREDIBLE. My husband and I have been seeing her at Soma Massage for 4 years. We both go on and on to everyone we know about how good she is. I've struggled with neck and back pain for 17 years. I was in pain all the time. Always fidgeting and had numbness and tingling in my arms. I tried everything; Acupunture, chiropractor, physical therapy Etc. Tabitha has cured me. She doesn't just mindlessly massage her clients. She feels for where the real muscle dysfunction is and fixes it. She is so precise. I can't repeat this enough. Tell her what's causing your pain and she will find out exactly where it's coming from. Something else I appreciate about Tabitha is that she is just a nice calming person. The whole experience is enjoyable. We refer all of our friends and family to Tabitha and the impact she has had on our health and comfort is unmeasurable. If you're reading this and thinking, wow this person is obsessed with tabitha, I am! I PROMISE that she will fix any muscle pain you have. I was curious WHY and HOW is she so so good. How is this possible?! And I asked her. She is constantly taking classes to further her education on massage therapy. I would argue she knows more about the muscles in the body than a doctor. She is so so so incredibly educated on how to use massage to treat pain. No one massages better than Tabitha, trust me! Location a little tricky to find your first time but well worth it! The rooms are very calming and all the staff are super friendly. I received one of the better massages I have ever had which is saying a lot. They give the first massage for $35 too which is an amazing deal. Wow! I had an incredible deep tissue massage from Lacey Simone. It was the best massage I have ever had! The pressure was perfect and she knew where every knot was.
