The Lofts at Lancaster Mills

The Lofts at Lancaster Mills

My biggest complaint (which would have been a deal breaker for me) is the fact that the windows do…read morenot open. I've lived in mill buildings before and the windows always opened. After I brought it to their attention, their response to me, after I signed the lease was "well, you already saw a unit exactly like it so you should have known." In the future, they need to say that the windows DO NOT OPEN and don't assume people are aware. It's an assumption that windows typically open. Other windows in apartments in nearby mill buildings do open. I'm stuck in my lease until July, but I plan on closing on a townhouse soon. My son comes home from college in early May and will be unable to tolerate living here due to the window situation/lack of ventilation. He can usually tolerate cats (and I have one), but he cannot in such a small apartment without opening the windows. I will move him into the townhouse until my lease ends in July. Also, it's frustrating that I can't clean the walls. For example, the laundry is in the bathroom. I splashed detergent on the wall accidentally and I can't clean it off! The paint and plaster are so cheap, it can't be cleaned! And the dryer doesn't wash adequately, nor does the dishwasher. If you like fresh air, do not rent here. Also, beware of the thin walls and potential for screaming kids. From December through January, the kid next to me cried ALL through the night. I was on the verge of having a breakdown due to lack of sleep. While that's gotten better, the kid starts at 6 a.m. People smoke both cigarettes and marijuana (which I wouldn't mind if the windows opened!), so you can smell it in the hallways. It's gross. The apartment is beautiful, but I would have elected a not so beautiful apartment for open windows.

The people in the office is great but as for the apartments not so great the appliances not good…read morethe only appliance that worked well was the microwave othe than that stove was awful washer dryer not so great better off going to laundromat lighting not so great and major problem with ants absolutely no privacy you can hear everything in next apartment definitely not worth the money no windows that you can open people move in and with in a month they move out the amenities are not worth it It's like a maze I would keep looking for an apartment although the office personal is great they do a great job so hands up for them

Meadowbrook Village

Meadowbrook Village

I was a resident at Meadowbrook Village from July 2022 to June 2023 (1 Year lease). The move in…read moreprocess was fairly simple & stress-free. I had reached out to Amy (property manager) via email, and started the application process. There were only a few negative things that I could say about the apartment. #1 - On move in day, I discovered that there was a piece missing from the wood floor in the living room, which I reported over email promptly, along with the garbage disposal not working. Maintenance came quickly and fixed the garbage disposal, but the floor still remained damaged upon moving out as they never came to fix it. #2 - During the winter months of 2022 & 2023, I discovered that anytime I turned on my heat, the fire/carbon monoxide alarm would go off. I reported this multiple times, and was told that it was just because "there is dust in the vents". It was frustrating that I couldn't turn on my heat without the alarm going off and it seemed like my concerns were being shrugged off as nothing. Eventually, after enough complaining, Maintenance came up with the great idea that they should get someone from HVAC involved. They then found out that reason behind the alarm going off was because of the heater leaking gas which is very dangerous, hence the other negative aspect of this apartment - I would smell gas 24/7. Even when I had guests over, they would make comments about the smell. The heater got replaced, along with the fire/smoke alarms. That solved that issue, but I still always smelled gas. #3 - Rent pricing. My rent was $1255 during the 12 month lease, and Simon Companies (property owner) decided to bump it up to $1415 if I wanted to sign a new 12 month lease. Absolutely ridiculous! I understand that the new pricing is still cheaper than most apartments in the area, but they need to start upgrading some things before they start to up the rent. This is the main reason behind why I decided to move out. I could see my rent being almost $2000 if I were to stay for the next couple of years. #4- When I was in the process of moving out, my new rental management company had sent MB paperwork to fill out regarding my payment history, etc. to make sure that I would be a good fit for a new resident at their community. Per Matthew, one of the leasing agents at MB - he stated that Amy, the property manager, had lots to do that week including evictions in court, etc. and that she would fill it out ASAP. My new property management company was astonished when finding that out because they know how important that paperwork is to get someone approved, and the fact that MB staff really didn't care to fill it out, is very unprofessional - given the fact that it takes 5 minutes or less to complete. This place is also not smoke free. That is what they advertise, but I could never have my windows open. All you will smell 24/7 is either weed or cigarettes. All of the negative comments aside, Meadowbrook Village was not a bad place to live. Every place is going to have their downsides. I was happy that their corporate office was able to return my security deposit to me in a timely manner.

I have called them 30 times in the last two weeks. NOT ONE TIME did someone answer the phone. I…read morewanted to lease with them and was planning on signing a 2 to 3 year lease because the prices seemed good on their website, but I'm so incredibly frustrated that I found somewhere else and willing to pay more in rent because of this. It's really messed up that they don't answer the phone or call back after leaving multiple voicemails and messages with their answering service. There are other complexes in the area with actual customer service and that actually give a shit about returning calls. If I could leave negative stars I would.

My two reply texts inquiring as to which property he was messaging me about went unanswered. Then when I requested a secure email communication, in lieu of texting, I was told that I don't know how to follow the instructions given to me via text and that he would need that to know who I am. If you don't know who I am why are you messaging me...? Completely unprofessional and frankly quite rude. Scam or not, this is not someone I feel comfortable doing business with. Update: before I was evan able to hit [post] I have been called twice and yelled at by this unprofessional individual. VERY bad bussiness practices. When I say I prefer email communications over unsecured text messages and then you call and yell at me TWICE, don't expect my patronage. Update II: Now I have reveived a yelp message threatening to post our text conversation (which I have already attached) if I do not remove this review. Professionalism is lacking at this establishment. Update III: Now, because I insisted on finding out exactly who I was speeking to (after his refusal to answer direct questions) before offering up any of my personal information, he is claiming I am a drug user. I reiterate the completly unprofessional manner in which he conducts business. Update IV: Now the owner is attempting to pressure me to take down my review of our interaction. I can not stress any more how disrecpectful, condescending and unprofessional this man is. If he was this inconsiderate to a prospective tenant I can not imagine how he may respond to issues, if any, during a tenancy. I do not recommend anyone go any further in the application process than I unfortunatly had, with only my initial inquiry.
