Very popular cafe facing the Esplanade on Barry Island.
As to a short description, think traditional cafe - but with recycled furniture and an updated menu for the 21st Century.
So you can still have a full English breakfast (until 11:30, but there's an all-day version too), but there are veggie and vegan variants, as well as the usual sandwiches, baguettes, paninis, omelettes, quiches, salads, baked potatoes, and a choice of soups.
There are also modern brunch favourites such as poached eggs and smashed avocado on sourdough toast, and eggs benedict on toasted English muffins.
Portion sizes are generally perfect for a light lunch, but there is a good selection of cakes and puddings if you're hungrier.
The cafe has a small number of tables out at the front, and is dog-friendly (designated tables, In fact) - and so, popular with dog walkers.
Service is friendly, usually quick, and it's worth booking as they can get very busy. In the summer they also open Friday and Saturday evenings until 9:30 (last order 8:30pm) with a more restaurant style menu.
