If I could rate Whitman, and specifically Debbie Jagel zero stars, I would. Debbie and I had a verbal agreement for my wife and I to rent her condo in Aspen for 30 days this upcoming ski season. She confirmed, removed the listing from Airbnb, and asked me if we could send her the rental agreement we've used while renting our house in LA. My wife happily sent it over to Debbie and her attorney husband Peter Jagel after a seemingly great call Debbie and I had together. Well, over the course of 3 weeks they would make small changes to the agreement and send it back over to us and make clear that everything was good and we had an agreement in place. Then, right before signing while we were negotiating security deposit, right before Thanksgiving, Peter wrote us an email saying that they found a better offer and "sorry for the confusion." Ha! Confusion? And then Debbie had Jordan on her team at Whitman reach out to me with other options that were 2x as expensive! And now the other condos we were considering before choosing Debbie's condo are all gone. Worst of all, she won't call/email or text me back, just leaving my wife and I hanging. Horrible, low-integrity individual that exhibits spineless behavior. I would never, ever use Debbie or her husband Peter or any company they're affiliated with. And to think she's a professional real estate agent. Insane. read more

I have never been more disappointed in a property management service. We rented a place in Aspen that was dirty( dust, 1/4" thick in places) , had broken furniture, broken floors with duct tape on them, ragged, old towels and lights that did not work. Their rental pictures were deceiving and obviously from a better time. Worse was that upon complaining nothing was really done to make it right. A last insult was the $150 cleaning fee that was taken from my security deposit that supposedly represented 6 hours of cleaning after I left. It would have been nice if it had been cleaned for an hour before I arrived. I have rented all over the world and this is by far the worst rental experience we have had which is why I am writing this review so people in the future will be forewarned not to use this company. I find your response to my review sad. No one ever told us that we were getting a reduced rate because the unit was no longer in good shape and/or because it was being sold. My buddy rented the unit next to us for even a lower nightly rate and a beautiful unit. Moreover I made it clear from the 1st day we got there that we were upset and no one from your company did a thing to make it right until my real estate broker who put the deal together complained. And even then the only thing you did was give us a bottle of wine which we left because we checked out the next morning. read more

We went through Whitman recently to secure a rental for extended family wanting to vacation in Aspen. Justine and Kim were terrific and supportive in finding just the right place for our family. They provided a warm welcome and lots of information and local recommendations to our family members making their stay extra special. The unit rented was updated, convenient to all areas of interest with upgraded and luxury touches. As a family, we wound up spending leisure time at the unit and felt like we locals were on vacation too! Super experience and will use their services again. read more

I rented a property through Whitman and have had an atrocious experience. Wendy will pursue damages that don't exist in her rental properties. I spent three months in the Brand Building (Durant Unit) and literally had problems from the day I moved in, many of which were unaddressed during the course of my rental terms. After moving out and having professional cleaning done, I have been cited for damages that don't exist. Undoubtedly, the owner and rental service is trying to collect money for no other reason than greed. I will never use her services ever again. read more

Lisa started out as very friendly and helpful but as problems came up in our long term rental she sided with the owner. After 7 days of water damage and repairs we asked for an extension to our stay or a partial refund, she dropped us like a stone and tried to say that heavy snow was unforeseen. This is a ski town!!!! She says she tried to convince her owner to do something for us, all we got was slower response on other minor issues. Would not recommend, Or use Whitman or rent from any of their clients, bad agents beget bad owners.......... In particular the property at 812 East Cooper should be avoided as a bad unit and Lisa F. Justine at WFP helped me find the perfect place for an extended stay in Aspen this past Jan/Feb. I would highly recommend working with her and Whitman. Justine was terrific, very responsive to any of my requests and was always super helpful. She was able to quickly troubleshoot any issues (when I say issues, I mean things like: rescheduling a housekeeping visit, and helping when my flight out of Aspen got canceled). I truly felt like Justine and WFP always went the extra mile to make me feel taken care of.
