Dr. Whiting doesn't even work here anymore. They're just falsely using his name and reputation to get business. Even in a google search it comes up as "the most experienced," which is a blatant lie and dishonest, frankly illegal method of attracting customers. On top of this, they won't honor the lifetime guarantee given to dr. Whiting's patients even though the language in the provided agreement clearly implies that they must. Anyone who is being denied an enhancement as a former patient of dr. whiting's, i urge you to contact the bbb and file a complaint. You paid for custom lifetime lasik, which includes free enhacements. Dr. Whiting and Ovo clinic will not honor it. Whiting clinic will not honor it (which is absolutely illegal). I'm on day 3 writing this review. First of all don't watch videos on horror stories or read about it if you're going to get anxiety over it (it was dumb on my part doing just that). Whiting definitely knows what he's doing. I couldn't recommend him enough nor his amazing comforting staff as they walked me through something that I wanted to years ago but didn't due to being terrified something could of gone wrong. Sure if you don't use him be sure to do your research as I value my sight as well I'm sure whomever is reading this feels exactly the same. I'm a commercial roofer and wearing glasses and or contacts was a everyday struggle. It's dirty, hard, dangerous, fast paced job. Dealing with my contacts against the elements was quite a challenge. Wearing glasses restricted my peripheral range of view. I had 20/400 vision with an astigmatism in my right eye and now I'm 20/15 confirmed the day after when I went to my next day follow-up. I wasn't tested further to see if I could see any better and 20/15 vision is something to be proud to have non of the less (I think I see even better possibly). I've worn contacts that gave me 20/15 and I've never noticed to insane amounts of details I'm noticing currently now. I watched water coming out of the faucet for instance completely mindblown away for over a minute the other day. The bad - after my surgery I did have some pretty intense pain pretty similar to a bad tooth ache. I paced around my house for awhile to shrug it off (I recommend napping as I couldn't) . It subsided after six hours. I woke up the next morning and the pain was completely gone. I have a minor halo issue with street lamps and stop lights /cars are fine to me. I'll update this as needed but I swear this is probably the most amazing thing I've done for myself hands down. Everything is so crisp and detailed that I'm almost in denial (and that's going to vary from person to person. ) You owe it to yourself as I'm completely grateful I took the plunge. Honestly I have to take deep breaths as I've been trying to take in the amount of detail I'm now noticing since my procedure. Just crazy amount of details I've been missing out on. Update: 5/16/2024 - Lasik was a success! For those considering it, here are a few things to know. Total time from entering to leaving the clinic is about a hour to an hour and a half. I was lucky only 5 people were ahead of me, but I was told that it can be as much as 20 (so could be longer) - The actual procedure is about 15 minutes. They use a little suction first on the eye. This for me was the most irritation and pain of the process. Due to machine being pressed against eye and has to be centered. Not comfortable. Not long though. - The actual laser you don't really feel anything, the doctor uses a little brush to wipe your eyes. If your eyes water a lot like mine. They do use a tiny little vacuum to get the excess liquid. (kinda like at the dentist but 10x smaller) - Eyes are a little red from the suction. But you notice a difference right away. Can be blurry at times on and off which is normal. Eyes need to heal, but use the drops regularly and recovery so far is great! Recommend! Love the staff there! First time here, was helped by Tamika who was excellent! Very friendly and informative. Came here for the free consultation for lasik. If you never done this before like me. Here is what to expect. (do the patient registration online, saves you time) Took about 1.5 hours from start to finish. They basically do a whole eye exam again and have you watch 8 minute video about the process. If you asked me my opinion before the COVID pandemic, I had only great things to say about this clinic. I had my third surgery (after complications after a lasik touch up) and was set to have my post op in August 2020. I was advised to call to schedule, but cannot get a clinical representative on the phone. I have placed over 6 calls to the office, but it is outsourced to a call center. They say the same thing. All the do is put in a "message to the clinic" and they will return my calls. I haven't heard anything in almost a year. Beware, do not come here. I'm not sure if they sold the business or whatnot, but the new owners will have some legal issues if they don't grandfather patients into their new practice. This whole situation leaves me to think they don't care about patients after all. I thought they would have resorted to smaller patient levels being seen over the early months of the pandemic, but it's almost a year later and I have yet to get a response. I never had my post op and I think that's fraud. I paid for a lifetime warranty and they are being non responsive. I will be going to BBB today to file a case. I feel so sorry for those people writing their experiences where they are having complications and no follow up. So disappointed in Whiting Clinic. In July 2020, I called Whiting Clinic numerous times to schedule my consultation. I heard great things about this place from a couple friends, so I decided to go here for my lasik. Clearly, I was wrong. Weeks later, someone from the clinic finally called me back and said they could get me in for a consultation, but not until Sept. Okay, fine. TWO DAYS before my scheduled consultation, they called to cancel. Seriously? After waiting two months to get in, I was not happy. But I gave it another shot. Again, I called and called and called to reschedule my consultation (since no one called me back months after my initial appointment was cancelled). Someone finally called me back from an out-of-state number to reschedule my appointment. Apparently, Dr. Whiting is outsourcing his staff all around the country. I found it odd, but I was glad to get in for my consultation finally in Dec. 2020. The consultation itself went well, and everyone was super friendly. I scheduled my lasik appointment for mid-Jan. 2021, after they told me I was a candidate. TWO DAYS before my scheduled lasik appointment, a staff member called from an out-of-state number to cancel my appointment. When I asked when my appointment could be rescheduled, they said they didn't know because they "don't have their calendar up". Are you kidding me?? After going a week without my contacts, preparing for my surgery, taking time off work, etc. I was so irritated that they called that close to my appointment to cancel. They still haven't called back to reshedule my appointment, but I've decided to go somewhere else for my lasik. I already have an appointment with MN Eye Consultants, who have been wonderful to deal with. I will post a review after I have my lasik done. I guess it's for the best that my appointment never happened with Whiting, because based on other people's reviews, they can't get a hold of anyone to have follow-up care done after their lasik appointment! I had my Lasik procedure done at Whiting Clinic back in April of 2019 - my only regret is not having it done sooner! They've done a lot of these procedures at Whiting and it shows, as they have the process down pat. From the eligibility screening, through the procedure and subsequent follow-up exams they run a tight ship. Staff are friendly, informative and Dr. Whiting was easy to work with during the actual procedure. Admittedly, the procedure isn't the most fun thing you're ever going to do, but it doesn't last long. Doctor Whiting is amazing! My lasik procedure was quick and painless. I had the laser option versus the blade since my vision was horrible (-6.50 in each eye!) This is the best decision I have made for my eyes and my recovery was fast. I was able to drive myself the next morning to my appointment. My vision has been outstanding since my lasik, I don't have dry eye issues, and my eyes feel better now versus when I had to deal with contacts. On the day of the procedure the staff was very friendly and it was a very calm and welcoming environment. They took the time to explain how to use the prescribed eye drops and what to do after the procedure to recover quickly. During the procedure, everything goes so quickly that you don't have time to feel nervous if you take the Valium. They told me to lie down, put the "suction holder" on the eye they were doing then I just saw green and red lights. I felt lubricating drops throughout the procedure so it didn't hurt at all. They do one eye at a time but it goes by fast. I highly recommend this clinic and procedure if anyone is questioning where to go or whether to do it. I'd been wearing glasses since I was ten so was ready to be done. I don't regret my decision for even on second! read more

Overall the LASIK procedure went well and I can see perfectly, which is great! What didn't go so well was the feeling I was being rushed through the entire process. They didn't explain the procedure to me ahead of time, i didn't know they were going to use suctions cups, cut my eyes and that I would have bloodshot eyes for two weeks. They tried to get me to get the procedure done within a day of my eligibility check-up, which I suppose is fine and a nice option to have, however it just felt like they wanted me in and out as soon as possible. They didn't tell me I could be in excruciating pain right after the surgery. I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep and I thought it was due to something going wrong. I had to reach out to their late night call line for them to let me know that was expected and not to worry. I suppose I should have done more of my own research but I also expect them to have told me this ahead of time. The day of my procedure came and when I arrived they let me know it was going to be a 1.5 hour wait as they had heating go out in the morning in one of the rooms and were on a back log with a full patients waiting room. They didn't call to give me a heads up but luckily I had all afternoon so I just waited. When it was my turn, they said they would try to get me in and out quickly... and I told them to please take their time and don't rush this. They have a fun group of staff members that are all easy going and friendly, however they were joking around a little too much at the front desk and the waiting rooms where I felt like they weren't as concerned with making sure the procedures had their full attention. I got a coupon for $500 off online which was nice and they were the most affordable and had the most open appointments of any clinic. I would probably recommend them in the future but just encourage people to take their time and ask a bunch of questions as they likely won't slow down to tell you much. read more

Connected with the Whiting Clinic inquiring about a touchup, because I had my lasik surgery in 2013 and my vision is deteriorating. Supposedly they didn't have record of me having the lasik at Whiting and said they are not honoring touchups for clients prior to 2020 anyways. They told me to call Dr. Whiting at OVO and maybe he would do something for me. Called OVO and they were very friendly and said they could give me a discount on lasik to try to help compensate for Whiting Clinics poor business tactics, but they also gave me an email for someone at Whiting Clinic (lasik.com) that has helped get client records in the past. I reached out to the email and got a response with a legal letter stating that since Whiting Clinics bankruptcy in 2020 and Kismet New Vision Holdings take-over, they do not honor any previous guarantees. Well, based on other comments on here about the new Whiting Clinic being terrible to work with, and their lack of commitment to past patients, even though they kept the Whiting Clinic name after bankruptcy and using Dr. Whiting's name recognition to lure new patients, I would highly discourage anyone from going to Whiting Clinic or any LasikPlus facility. Whiting is affiliated with LasikPlus and the doctors are the same. I'd recommend going to OVO where Dr. Whiting is now, because I recall he and his staff being great to deal with. read more

I have to agree with the last few reviews. I got my Lasik done at Whiting in 2013 and it was fantastic. Since then, they have seemingly outsourced everything that made them so special. It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of anyone at the clinic. When I finally did, it was someone in Florida with no knowledge of the clinic. I need my Lasik touched up, and they couldn't FIND MY RECORDS. They said they had no record of me getting my Lasik done at Whiting. I showed them my receipts, results, and dates of procedure. I am now trying to get scheduled for an enhancement and they are telling me they need to "prioritize returning patients," But I AM a returning patient. This place really is terrible. I had the PRK procedure in June of 2019. Lately I have been experiencing dry eyes and after leaving multiple voice mails and sending multiple emails, no one bothers to return my calls or emails. I need help and I don't know what else to do since they won't call back or respond to emails. Every time I call i receive an automated voice system, leave my message and wait and wait and wait! Extremely disappointed in their lack of customer service. They seem indifferent to any pleading or begging for help. There absolutely must be a level of ethical violations going on in the current state of Whiting Clinic. "Todays" Whiting Clinic is nothing like 2019. Literally. Complete turnover in staff including physicians and, rumor has it, lack of top technology and experienced staff following its parent company, LasikPlus/ LCA- Vision (CEO Craig Joffe) bankruptcy. The call center is the most frustrating and unhelpful process. I have been trying to get an enhancement for months without any movement. I have sat on the phone countless times with someone who has no idea what to do other than to stall care. I have even tried getting a copy of my medical record without prevail. Clearly past (paid) patients are being ignored and as they are only accepting new (paying) patients. You will never get a call back; you will never get follow up care. I personally have even driven to the location and was "welcomed" with locked doors. Truly outrageous behavior. The Whiting I remember was excellent in not only medical procedures, but also patient comfort, follow up and communication, etc. Because of this clear change, I had no choice but to go elsewhere. Through other Google Reviews, I found that the former staff has moved to North Suburban Eye Specialists in Edina. I was seen promptly and with the same caring staff as before (of course with some new faces as well). Thank you so much former Whiting team/ new North Suburban Team and Dr. Lobanoff. We orphaned Whiting Clinic patients are so thankful for you all. My heart goes out to Dr. Whiting, his name's sake, and loving care team. I cannot believe the damage LasikPlus/Joffe has done to your reputation, but most importantly, to patients who have experienced "todays" mismanagement, mistreatment, and outright appalling (lack of) care to patients. Please, those seeking lasik or other eye treatment, for the safety of your eye health do not come here. I've been dreaming of the day when I finally got to post my review and *humbly* brag about how I don't have to wear glasses/contacts anymore... TODAYS THE DAY! Everyone I know recommended this place so of course I had to come to the best! The consult was fast and simple, easy to book and all the staff were very friendly! When I got the news that I'm an eligible candidate for LASIK, I went to book my appointment and they had a plethora of openings! I was able to book a week after my first appointment! Day of surgery the staff were SO comforting and answered all of my questions. I was extremely nervous (because who likes people touching their eyes?) but again, all of the staff... every single one was a gem! They told jokes, answered questions and were all around extremely professional! I've never been to another place where all the staff were so pleasant. I cannot recommend Whiting Clinic enough! I wanted to surprise my fiance with something special for an engagement gift considering he spent a bunch on a nice ring for me, it only seemed fair to get him something he could appreciate! After humming and hawing for a while he finally decided that he wanted Lasik, and we set out to get recommendations from anyone we knew who had the procedure. Almost everyone referred us here and I'm SO glad they did. While the price is more than other places this is one of those situations where you get what you pay for, and I'd do this again in a heartbeat. My fiance had his procedure and it was quick and painless, his recovery time was very minimal and there were no noticeable side effects. His sight has become so much better (even better than mine!) and I can tell how much happier he is now that he's had the procedure done. We went ahead and ordered the medicated drops ahead of time and I'm so glad we did, it really seemed to make a difference. He had his procedure done by Dr. Whiting himself and the sheer number of procedures alone is impressive. The facility is super clean, super modern and everyone we encountered was amazingly friendly. They explained everything we could've ever wanted to know at every step along the way. There was literally zero stress or confusion and that was such a relief! Let me preface with you that I'm an incredibly picky human. Whiting Clinic deserves every one of those five stars. First, their process is bar none. Their well thought out, step by step process leaves little for the imagination. They've thought of everything and communicate it in a digestible, calming manner. The day of the surgery I wasn't nervous until five minutes before the procedure. It finally dawned on me that there might actually be some discomfort. I have a high pain tolerance - that said, I hated very second. The pressure freaked me out and the whole experience a little disconcerting. I went in a week ago for an initial LASIK consultation (on a Thursday). No one was there except for me. Tech seemed to not to want to be there. When done I was told surgeons would review and get back to me the next day or Monday. It has now been a week and no call. Tried calling them to get status but they didn't not answer... Calling Service tried to transfer me also, no response. She was going to have them call me back but would take between 24-72 hours. No thanks.... Guess they don't want my business. read more

I called for consultation and when i got there in November 2020 it was an hour wait, and then i was rushed to get my eyes tested. I was an eligible candidate, then a few days later i tried calling to schedule surgery and only got connected to a 3rd party who stated that they will email the office. After calling so many times they started hanging up. Also Called from November to January, no one called back. I decided to go to office no one there. I have been trying to get a hold of an in office staff for weeks. I had to have my yearly check up done at an outside office since they are no longer taking appointments. The answering service that is being used by Whiting Clinic is pretty much worthless because they are unable to access medical records. All I need to know is if they received my record from the outside clinic. When I called the Whiting Clinic two days ago, they had lost my record completely and my phone number was associated with another patient. When I went to the clinic in person, the office was closed, but there were unhelpful staff members inside. Very frustrating after I paid so much money to get Lasik. read more

After living with bad vision the majority of my life, I've been thinking about Lasik for a long time. I had a consult with another Lasik surgeon prior to coming to Whiting. This first clinic told me I was a perfect candidate for Lasik and pressured me into making an appointment for surgery later that week. After going to Whiting the next day, I immediately cancelled that appointment. At Whiting, the staff were friendlier and more knowledgeable, I was never pressured into scheduling surgery, Dr Loomis and Dr Whiting are very professional and able to answer any questions. But most important of all, they recommended PRK instead of traditional Lasik for me due to the scan results, something the other clinic I went to missed. I let a few months pass before finally went ahead with the procedure, using both FSA funds and a Groupon to pay for most of the cost, and I am 100% satisfied with the results. PRK does tend to have a longer (and less comfortable) recovery time than Lasik, but my vision at the 3-week follow up was 20/15. I've never seen this well without glasses/contacts in my living memory. My results have been so great my husband went ahead and had his eyes corrected today - lucky for him, he was a candidate for traditional Lasik. I'd definitely recommend Whiting for your laser vision correction. read more

Consultation meeting: it seemed like they wanted to rush me through as fast as possible. Nothing was described about the procedure itself, they must assume patients know what is actually going to be done to their eyes. Day of Lasik: Waited TWO hours for the procedure. Once I was taken back to the operating area, I had to change rooms three times with other patients. It also felt very rushed. No one seemed very empathetic or understanding. I was not offered valium until I asked for it, which was given minutes before the procedure- not enough time for it to even work! Then during the procedure, they did not use enough numbing drops!!! I felt discomfort I should not have felt. Post-observation meeting: Why is it the day after?! They test your vision and say 'good enough!' and 'you don't need to come in again!' One month after: my eyes are still bruised!!!! My vision is not perfect. I have called the office multiple times and they do not get back to you. Overall, I felt very uncared for. This is an exorbitant amount of money for the average person, and I feel I should have been treated kinder and with more attention. read more

Overall, great experience with Whiting Clinic and I would do it all over again. The facility is clean, everyone there was friendly, and I felt like I was in capable hands throughout the process, but it was an absolutely miserable journey. I got PRK because it was the safer alternative to Lasik for me with my astigmatism and young misshapen corneas. However, the recovery was TERRIBLE. I was told by everyone at the clinic that I would have some "minor discomfort" during the procedure and for the first few days and it would take me a few weeks to get my full vision back. That was an understatement to say the least. I was a college athlete and I have a considerably high pain tolerance so believe me when I say that the procedure was extremely painful and the pain and light sensitivity only worsened after the procedure. Because Whiting does not allow you to get the pain killers ahead of time, I had to drive 30+ miles back home to my pharmacy to get them while in extreme pain following the procedure. I went home directly after that at about 4pm and slept until my follow up appointment the following day at 8am, only waking up to take more pain killers. The pain and light sensitivity eventually wore away after about a week, but I still could not see even enough to drive. I didn't get 20/20 vision until approximately three months after the procedure. Like I said, I would do it again and being able to see without glasses or contacts is amazing, but Whiting did absolutely NOTHING to equip me for what I would go through the days, weeks, and months following the procedure. That's exactly what I felt like once I got in the operating room. I was rushed through the entire thing and felt like just a number. The process leading up to the surgery was great, people were nice and helpful. After the surgery? Horrible. I have pain that feels like an ulcer in my eye (which I've had before from contacts) and I called multiple times to schedule a follow up. I couldn't get through to anyone, had to have a doctor call me back twice, only to schedule a follow up without clarifying which location the appointment was at. Yep, they have multiple locations that they jockey you between and aren't good at keeping track of where you are supposed to go. I had to clarify 3 times with the desk person that I was in fact at the correct location for my surgery because they switched locations on me. I had LASIK surgery done back in March and I wanted to wait for everything to be complete so I could make my final review. Like most people I searched through hundreds of reviews and checked out several different places before deciding on Whiting Clinic for my procedure. All the reviews were great and the doctors had high levels of experience. All of the scheduling was very easy, staff was very helpful and kind, the space is clean, and the experience was very good leading up to the surgery. Everything was really great the day of surgery, they have a technician there telling you everything that is going on and how long it will take and procedure was very quick. I walked into the procedure room and walked out in what felt like a minute. The days and weeks after the surgery were not so good. I was told to get some eye drops, but no one ever said I might need the gel kind or what to expect from getting dry eyes. Within a week I was struggling at work putting eye drops in my L eye every hour if not more. I was terrified something happened to my eye! I called and someone finally explained that I needed to get better drops. Even with the gel drops my eye was still irritated. I would go to bed early because I couldn't stand to keep my eye open any longer. I continued to mention this at Appts and was told that "the weather is dry" and it would get better as the weather changed. Finally summer came, and then I was told "well now that it is warm everyone uses air conditioning and it dries out your eyes". Really??? Is any time of the year good? During my latest Appt, the Dr finally just said, sometimes you have an eye that takes longer to heal, it will get better over time. I seriously felt like this was the first time someone was honest with me after being told repeatedly that it was the weather, air conditioning, heated air etc. It's been about 6/7 months now and my eye still doesn't feel the best and I have to use frequent drops but it is getting better. I just wish I would have been educated a little bit more on what to expect with getting dry eyes and things I could do to help. Staff were helpful along the way, although sometimes I just felt I was getting brushed off a bit. Even if it's something they see a lot, it wasn't something I was expecting and it would have felt a little more reassuring if they were straight forward with addressing it. Overall the experience was good, and I think everyone tried their best, unfortunately my experience wasn't the magical "I have perfect vision and it feels great" fairytale that most reviews have and I think they could have been a bit more honest about expectations. read more

I went to Whiting clinic in 2012 for Lasik. Dr. Loomis and Dr Whiting had a look at my eyes and they saw something not right. They kept me for one year just to monitor. They never really want to take your money and perform procedures on you. They made sure it is to make things better. When they did the procedure they explain everything and Dr. Loomis and Whiting both told me my Left eye is complicated and we might have to do another correction in few years. My PRK procedure on both eyes were done in 2013 and in few weeks I was 100% and seeing better than 20/20. Then in 2015 I felt my Left eye is not quite the same and as they predicted it was slightly off and Whiting Clinic honored the life time Warranty and I did not have to pay a penny for the 2nd Procedure. I knew my left eye was really bad before 2012 and I knew (as the doctor said before) we may have to do slight corrections couple times to get it to 100% and keep it 100%. Then I moved to Florida in 2016 and everything was good. but Dr. Whiting's office kept in touch with me and arranged this advanced Eye test with an affiliated clinic in Orlando and had the results sent to them. It did not cost me anything. It's unbelievable how they are taking care of their patients. Last week, 9/13/2018 I traveled back to Minnesota to do my PRK correction to the Left eye and I'm recovering now. This time I worked with Dr. Loomis, Dr. Kasie Mix and of course Dr. Whiting. I had never though about writing a review before. but living in Florida I realized how all the doctors, clinics charge us for every single thing we do and how come Whiting Clinic is still honoring the Warranty they promised back in 2012. It's unbelievable. I don't know how to Thank them. Whiting Clinic is the best place I have every been to. No other hospital or clinic has made me feel like home. I am sorry for only one star. I just want to give the truth that I experienced. I've done the Lasik mid of this year and I got almost every complications. My eye feels foggy, double vision and near vision. I am just 38 and don't have near vision problem before, but now I have near vision issue. I feel the eye never clear since I done the Lasik. I just give the truth to everyone, Lasik will have the risk of complications. Doctor said I need do it again for enhancement, it is DO IT AGAIN. I am really worried about risk for enhancement. The enhancement procedure is exactly same as the surgery, just time will shorter. I've done several times of test and all results not satisfy. I never been clear since the surgery. I hope it can be improve but almost 6 months later so it has been stabled. Can someone let me know how should I do other than enhancement? read more

I have been attempting to contact this clinic for a follow up exam for over 4 weeks via the phone number provided on the website and in the materials from my surgery. I have also sent emails via their online website. I have yet to have a response! Very sad that I can't get someone to respond I have had two surgeries from Dr. Whiting and felt that portion was excellent the fact that they have no follow up no content on their website that something is wrong is very unprofessional. read more

Having worn glasses or contacts since 3rd grade, I had been thinking about LASIK for a long time. It was always something I considered but wasn't in any rush to have done - mostly because I wanted to feel good about the decision... meaning I wanted to know I was at the best clinic possible. A friend came to work singing the praises of Dr. Whiting, so I started to talk about LASIK. Turns out 3 other coworkers also had theirs done by Dr. Whiting at one of his previous clinics. It was time to budget for my flex spending for 2011, so I went online to do some research. I couldn't believe that they had an estimate online and the offer of a free consultation... so I called. I was in their office a week later. From the first person I spoke with on the phone, I have never encountered anyone at Whiting Clinic that is not professional, knowledgeable, and genuniely nice. Needless to say, I have been impressed. My consult went well, and they told me several times that I did not need to commit that day. I was sold, though, and scheduled my surgery 2.5 weeks out. I will not lie - I do not do well with surgery or anything of the sort. Thinking about needles makes my stomach turn. So it is not surprising that the procedure was the most horrifying 5 minutes of my life... but it was over before my fiancee could read 4 pages of a magazine. I was NOT one of the people who sits up after the procedure and can see everything (that is common, BTW). Minor panic attack there. They did anything they could possibly do to make me comfortable and were patient as I sipped my juice. I took the recommended nap when I got home, woke up - and I could SEE! Everything!! I have waited nearly two decades to have lasik done and have done a lot of homework. Dr. Whiting is truly the best, has the best "bedside" manner, and truly cares about your health care. As for price, he has the lowest pricing since it is his practice and he only specializes in eye care. I didn't get the use car sales pitch, wasn't pushed to get the procedure done, and I met with him several times in the initial screening and before the procedure. Truly a great experience. I came to get my vision corrected... ...I left with so much more. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience. I just wish I were better prepared for the great responsibilities that came with becoming a superhero. Let me explain: 9/22/14 Today was my initial free consultation. The staff was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I was so impressed that I scheduled my surgery on the spot. 10/3/14 My surgery was this morning at 7:45am. I was in and out by 9am. I felt great discomfort immediately following the surgery. It felt like sand was in my eyes and I could not open my eyelids without a steady stream of tears coming down my face. I went to sleep immediately upon getting home. I felt well enough to get up and walk around by 1pm. 10/4/14 24 hours removed from my surgery and I feel great. Although I would not have recommended the surgery to anyone in the minutes following it, I can now say that it was completely worth it. 10/10/14 It's been a week since my surgery. My eyes feel fine but I've been having some incredibly vivid and graphic nightmares. It's always the same thing: I encounter someone in a dangerous situation and in my anger, I blast the villain with a deadly laser beam that shoots out of my eyeballs - just like Cyclops of the X-Men. But as this is happening, I feel like I've seen this before, or that I've done this very thing before. It's a Déjà vu within a dream. 10/21/14 I am quite terrified as I write this. My precognitive dream vision was about an argument between two people. In my vision, a male was yelling at a female about her looks. I intervene by politely asking to back off. After he pushes me twice and tells me to "mind [my] own f*cking business," I felt this rush of anger come over me. As this was happening, my eyes felt like they were on fire, to the point where I could barely see out of them. When I calmed down, I noticed other bystanders screaming and running away and the perpetrator in front of me was down on the ground, completely knocked out. His clothes were smoldering and burn marks were all over his chest - AND THAT IS ALL I REMEMBER. Usually, the precognitive vision is immediately followed by the in-dream action, but not this time. After I woke up, I continued on with my day, a little perplexed about the vision not coming to fruition inside my dream. I stopped at a local gas station for water and I noticed this couple in front of me arguing. I immediately recognized it as my precognitive dream. Stunned, I watched the events unfold just as they had in my dream. The argument, the faces, the clothes, the setting - it all matched my dream. At this point, without even realizing it, I intervened on the female's behalf, just like I did in the dream. And just like the dream, my eyes felt on fire and when I finally regained my vision, I noticed the instigator down on the ground, knocked out and burns all over his body. Panicked, I ran out of the store and drove home, where I spent the next several hours in a dead stare, trying to make sense of what just happened. 11/1/14 I'm still having nightmares. The more I try to deny this power I have, the more it intensifies. 11/8/14 After much soul searching, I have accepted the fact that I have been given a gift and that I now must use it for good. As long as I follow what I see in my vision, I could not get hurt and this world would slowly become a better place; righting one wrong at a time. 12/9/14 I'm getting a little concerned. I haven't had any precog visions the last two nights. I go to sleep and I'm completely blank. I wake up not remembering anything. Has evil been conquered? As much as I'd like to think so, I know this isn't the case. Maybe a change of scenery will help the visions return. I plan to travel to another area and try my luck there. I'll walk as far as I can all day tomorrow and see what happens there. 12/10/14 The visions returned to my dreams, but they're a little foggier than before. It's quite difficult to focus; I only see fragments of the dream. Also, when I woke up, my nose was bleeding. Maybe that can be attributed to the place I now call "home"? 12/15/14 I AM FREAKING OUT!!!! I met someone today. I escaped a house after subduing some would-be thieves with my superpowers and as I was running away, someone stopped me. He said, "I know who you are and what you're doing but you have to stop. Listen to me, John. Please." AND THEN THE GUY TOOK OFF! I was so scared, I didn't know what to say. The guy who said it looked very familiar. He looked a lot like me, but maybe 10 years older and with all gray hair. Who was he? How did he find me? What did he mean? 12/16/14 Whoever that dude was, he really scared the shit out of me. Do I continue fighting crime or do I heed the stranger's warning? I may be embarking on a dangerous path. I decided to take the plunge and get Lasik from Dr. David Whiting. I looked around at a few different providers, and I felt like Whiting had the best combination of a fair price, a modern office space, the best technology, and the most experience. They truly did a great job of explaining the procedure to me, telling me about what I should expect post op, and then keeping me calm the day of the surgery. $4000 surgery really cost $11,000. Surgery information for monovision cataract (Advanced Distance) was promoted at a cost of $1995 per eye with lifetime follow-up. Seemed like a good deal. Was required by Whiting clinic to get numerous pre-surgical tests, far more than MD required, at cost of $834. Prepayment of $1995 required prior to each eye surgery. Fine. But then afterward charged ADDITIONAL $1050 for anesthesiologist, AND $4273 for WestHealth Surgery center. Insurance company covered an additional $985! Total cost over $11,000!!! Ah...those little details weren't mentioned prior to surgery. Was led to believe initial $1995 per eye was total cost. One star because staff is very friendly. Still waiting to see if follow-up "free" procedures restore vision to clarity promoted. read more
