The sliced brisket was terrible. Tough and chewy nothing tender about it. wasn't smoked long enough. Was not fresh either. Paid over $20 and it was inedible and some of the worst brisket I have ever had. Couldn't eat it and threw it away. I should have said somthing while I was there but was just disgusted and left. Greasy trays which makes you wonder if their dishwasher is running up to par and if anyone cares. The Q wasn't bad but nothing to go out of your way for, not enough smoke in my opinion. You have to order in the other room and get your food cafeteria style. There's no indication of this and the other room is hard to see through a small door at the back. Also, you get that small town bar feeling when you walk in and everyone turns to look but no one tells you to order in the other room, they just let you sit there- even one of their employees. Very classic roadside Texas BBQ shop that also serves seafood. Though the portions of the plate are cheap in price and generous in amount, the food was pretty mediocre. They're food is mediocre. Most of the time the person at the counter doesn't use gloves, kind of makes you disgusted. This is one of those places you had to grow up around to appreciate, the food is some of the best around. They are known for their bbq, burgers, big daddy burgers and bigger daddy burgers. They have some lf the best cfs in calhoun county. Don't expect any help when you get in here as this is a locals place. But still great read more

Upon entering the building I noted a "Register Closed Go To Other Side" sign in front of the register. I walked to the other end of the line that appeared to be the line to order in which ended up being a salad bar. Stood there about 5 minutes. Nobody even looked at me. Only 4 people at 1 table when I walked in. Asked them, do I sit down or what? They pointed me through a DARK doorway into a room that was extremely HOT where there was a counter with a glass window in the front that was so fogged up you could not even begin to see what was behind it. I did finally find a menu on the wall behind them, placed my order and stood there along with about a dozen others who all appeared as confused as I was. I finally caught a lady in a DQ shirt that was cleaning a table and was told to go ahead and sit down and they would bring it out. Both my wife and I had ordered Chopped Beef Sandwich, fries and a drink After about 15 minutes we were brought 2 sandwiches. No drink, no fries. Asked about them, was then given 2 glasses and 1 order of fries. Had to wander around the room to find Ketchup, silverware and straws. The Chopped Beef was extremely dry and tasted slightly burnt. When we got through I went back to where we ordered and asked where we were supposed to pay. The lady asked, "oh, you haven't paid yet" I then explained the problems as stated above. She told me that they were short handed and it "WASN'T THEIR FAULT". I said, ok, it's not your fault? I guess it's mine for coming in here, don't worry, it won't happen again! read more

My hubby and I went here while on vacation, and everyone in the place was friendly and helpful, including the other customers . The food was so good we went here 2 nights in a row! The BBQ is pretty good and catfish is good too but the people working here are so rude. I went in once and a young girl took my order but didn't charge me yet because she got busy. Then another woman came from around back and asked the girl if I paid yet and she said, "no". So she asked me to pay and when I go my card out and was handing it to her the other woman told the girl who was about to take my card that I can wait because her friend, who was in line behind me, needed to place his order. So instead of taking my card that I was trying to give her, the woman told the girl to go tend to another customer while I stand there waiting. read more
