BHP - A Wildly Unique Experience Beyond the Strip…read more In a city where events, clubs, restaurants, and casinos can start to feel like a blur, BHP is a refreshing standout. This horse-event company offers everything from party planning to yoga with horses, chariot racing, acrobatics, and an impressive range of more than 20 horses. From a mini horse the size of my Doberman to massive draft horses and Norwegian Fjords, BHP's range is like nothing else I've seen. This family of artists and horse enthusiasts brings a welcome change from the hustle of the Vegas strip. BHP is for those who appreciate the spirit of horses, offering free "Gladius the Show" events at their ranch a few times a year (donations welcome). Plus, they provide some of the most unique event experiences in town: Weddings with a Twist: Imagine riding a horse into your union. And if you happen to be a runaway bride at heart (like that Julia Roberts movie), your equine companion doubles as the perfect getaway once the booze wears off, and you sober up into the biggest mistake you didn't know you were about to make. Team-Building & Family Events: From simple horseback riding to throwing spears from a moving chariot, BHP has something for everyone. They even offer a Gladiator-style boot camp for fitness buffs--and judging by the shredded athletic crew here, it's a workout worth trying. Mindful Experiences: For a more spiritual experience, BHP hosts yoga, meditation, and sound baths near the horses. These sessions can draw groups of 20-30 people and offer a unique, tranquil break from the city's intensity. Horse-Drawn Bar Rides & Massages: For those seeking a more relaxed vibe, BHP offers a horse-drawn bar ride, similar to beach-city pedal pubs, and a unique massage service involving "horse presence" (which I haven't tried yet, but it sounds intriguing!). BHP is run by genuine animal lovers who are among the most down-to-earth people I've met. For anyone looking for something out of the ordinary in Vegas, I highly recommend stopping by--you won't be disappointed.

All day long she was so knowledgeable and answered every question we had, but also so funny while still being professional! My whole group thought that the value of this tour was exceptional. We walked the grounds, took pictures of the Werly family's decades-long collection of toys and decor, watched an action movie clip filmed on the property, then hit the trails. We're a group of experienced dirt bike/quad riders, but Alisha made sure to put some of the guys in their place and let us know that the ATV ride rules are rules, not suggestions. The views were incredible, we ate a delicious lunch by the Colorado river, then headed back for the gold mine tour. Being from the east coast, this part of US history isn't something we're familiar with, and we learned so much! Even though we had a large group, Alisha made a point to have a one-on-one conversation with every single one of us, which made it very special and personal. She was also an incredible photographer! I think we really got the bang for our buck, and i will definitely be recommending this tour - and Alisha by name - to everyone I know who's planning a Vegas trip in the future.

I requested to come by to meet her and to check out her stables and where the lessons would take place. She was VERY secretive when I asked for her address. I asked if I could come by, she said she's available in the mornings, I asked for the address a second time, no response. I requested to come by the following day and she said she couldn't. She said she would be available today, which is Wed. I requested her address a THIRD TIME, so that I could plan my schedule accordingly and to know where I'd be going, so that I could move my schedule around, to come on the day she said she would be available. We were chatting through Facebook and I requested her address a FORTH TIME and I gave her my phone number, so that she could text me her address. Again, NOTHING and I even moved my schedule around, so that I could come by her stables today and never heard from her. I asked her what the problem was and again, no response, today came and went and she finally decided to message me back and said, that she isn't for everyone! HOW UNPROFESSIONAL! I was trying to hire her for a service and she acted like she was hiring me. She even had the nerve to say, I INSTRUCTED YOU TO MESSAGE ME WHEN YOU WANTED TO COME BY. As though she was doing me a favor! I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL PERSON, if you are considering ANY KIND OF SERVICE WITH HORSES in LAS VEGAS! SHAME ON YOU ROBIN BAILEY!

I was happy she turned out all of the horses together daily because they're pack animals and are meant to be together. That gave him time to socialize and be close to other horses, he even made friends with a few. I never had to worry about Rio, I knew he was in great hands. Darlene was always very friendly and sweet. If she ever went out of town ( rarely ) I was informed and her husband did a great job of filling in for her. I feel she went above and beyond, giving me advice on things Rio might need or general knowledge that could be useful regarding my horse. I have no complaints and I'm grateful for everything Darlene did for Rio! I definitely recommend this barn.

No frills at all. Also, none of the boarders actually ride their horses. Some ignore them, some take chairs out and sit and watch them all day. The worst part is the owner, Darlene. She is a control freak that does not believe in modern medicine or the basics, like worming or annual shots. In addition, She will not follow the vets directive on your horse and instead does whatever she thinks is best. She constantly meddles in your personal business, is nosey and gossipy. She loves to sue people or threaten to sue people. Just beware, there is a lot of drama here.

I would like to preface this review and let others know I have 0 experience with horses. I am sure…read morethe owner Denise is extremely experienced with horse riding and I will not discredit her knowledge and experience with horses (unlike how she treated me as a mother today). I am writing this review from a "moms" experience of an out of control situation and the owner's beside manner. To a seasoned horse rider, my concerns below may or may not seem like anything of value to you but if you are new to horse lessons this review may interest you. Horse riding is considered by many people as one of the top few dangerous sports. Even experienced riders can suffer extreme injuries or even death. Knowing this, I have been slightly apprehensive at my 12 yrs old daughter new found interest in horse riding. She has been going to Hunters Edge for the last 6 months. All thanks to her grandmother who is suffering from a terminal health issue and looks forward to taking my daughter 3x a week for lessons. So far, my daughter fell off a horse 2x within the first 3 months (1 of those times having sprained her wrist and sitting out for a couple weeks). And then today she fell off again. This is her 3rd fall in her first 6 months of riding. Each one worse than the other. Today's event was due to the horse not listening, for reasons I don't fully understand, nor was explained to me by Denise. My daughter is 76 lbs, this horse nearly 1000 lbs+ . Everyone watched painfully while this horse took my daughter on 6+ laps around the arena, faster and faster until things spiraled out of control. Even a concerned worker, popped out from cleaning stalls to come stare and mumble "OH SHIT" under his breath. The scene today was so out of control and watching the reaction of Denise and the instructor during this event not give me any confidence. Maybe I am just being an over protective mom OR maybe if a student falls 2x in the first 3 months, you can reassess the child? Or maybe during the many hours of lessons we did pay you for, you could have gone over a protocol on "how to fall off a horse properly". A quick google search online shows that there is a correct way to fall off a horse and some lesson places that actual do drills / clinics with their riders from the start on how best to navigate this situation (since this situation is an inevitable part of horse riding) I have been researching things online to how to minimize this risk and found some helpful links for any new parent, like me who want to be informed https://thefocusedrider.com/falling-off-horse-danny-warrington/ My daughter didn't get even 1 hour of training on this risk and how to respond correctly. Nothing. How about training your new student on safety measures before the safety measure is needed? Like I mentioned earlier, I am not sure what the best course of action is in this situation. I am talking from the hip, from a novice mom perspective. I am not a riding instructor, I don't know the right or wrong answer here. But I do know this, today could have went better. I understand falling off a horse is something that will happen when this is the sport you elect to do. I understand this risk. But in the same breath, when I hand my daughter over to you Denise, on a silver platter, 3 x a week, paying you money to boot you, I expect 2 things from you. 1. Keep my kid safe. 2. Treat my kid with kindness and respect. But to add insult to injury today, you failed both things. Before this fiasco of her falling off the horse, I watched in front of my eyes you being rude to my daughter & her grandmother. The safety vest we bought at Tack of the Town, the same vest you didn't even want to spare your time to look up from your phone about. Cutting off her grandmother and the instructor mid-sentence to say "I DON"T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT". While you proceeded to go back at looking at your phone. I am shocked a business owner that caters to children would act like that. You couldn't even be bothered to take 30 seconds of your time to give an opinion on a SAFETY VEST! A SAFETY VEST USED AT YOUR OWN RIDING SCHOOL! Purchased from the very place you recommended! What instant karma you received today when the safety vest you refused to look at.. was the same safety vest that helped cushion my daughters fall today. How ridiculous you must have felt to not even bother wanting to look at it and then that happens. Your apology today for your behavior means nothing, first impressions are everything. There's too many other places to give our money to. You have shown us today, that is not you.
