When I entered there were lots of cute kitties lounging about, and a market where they sell produce they grow and baked/canned goods. If you continue to the left there is an area with seating that is not to busy and you can eat food and hang out and chat. If you want to see the animals you pay admission and they give you some stuff you can feed the animals. The area with the animals was fun lots of piggies, goats, horses, tortoises, turtles, birds, sheep large bulls even! We never managed to find the rabbits, and there were some areas that were closed off when we went. There were some cute spots for good photos and my son had a blast. The market I had gotten some baked goods like zucchini chocolate chip bread, ooey gooey butter bar, and a lemon bar. Honestly I had higher hopes. The zucchini bread was pretty dry and didnt have shredded zucchini like I hoped, the base for the bars was not my favorite. And the lemon topping was not to my liking. I havent opened the pickles I got yet so cant judge those. I think ill stick to just buying produce next time. However the space overall its a fun experience and I'm glad I went.

So, me and the other girl on my crew decided to check out the local 99 Ranch market deli. I know they have good food to go and you get to see the food before you order it! Some of the selections are quite authentic ... like chicken feet and deep fried little smelt fish or one dim selection that looked like white jello something. There other "normal" looking stuff too, like all the noodles and stir fries as well as I love the BBQ meats, like duck and BBQ pork and the deals they have on fried chicken! I got a bunch of food to go, and what we don't eat, I'm sure the guys on the crew will finish! I got some BBQ pork buns, BBQ pork spare ribs and fried chicken. I skipped the duck this time. All the food tasted wonderful as expected. The buns could have been warmer, but that's what a zap in the microwave is for at the hotel. We enjoyed the food and it was no hassle to get. Basically point and they get it for you, unless you speak Chinese!

The market looked like it had more capacity for baking and cooking and "deli" type service, but those areas looked a bit empty. A great selection of spices, teas, jam, jellies, sauces etc. some pre-prepared items such as nuts and grains. A great and well stocked refrigerated and freezer section. I was not looking for halal meat, and maybe I missed the meat section but I didn't see any. What I did see (and bought some) was large flat pita style garlic bread (dense and chewy, great for dipping) and also some traditional Lamejun (Lebanese or Armenian flat bread style pizza) Haven't had any of those since I left the east coast.... Out of those, only one vendor was actually selling produce, which was priced rather expensively I might add. Other vendors were selling scarves, hot sauce, honey, and jewelry. This Farmer's market is located at the Craig Ranch Regional Park towards the rear end of the park, kind of next to the dog park. The vendors are situated in the actual parking lot. Look, I live in North Las Vegas and was upset I made the trek out here. I was excited that a Farmer's Market would be available in North Town, but I'll just stick to the Fresh 52 Farmer's Market in Tivoli Village. Thanks, but no thanks. YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2015: #178

It's cozy and welcoming. I sat at the bar for my meal, and I was very well taken care of. I kept my drink simple with an Eagle Rare old-fashioned, done right. Their bourbon lineup is nice enough to get excited over something. The Cowboy Salad was a light start, with a vinaigrette that soaked into all the ingredients, adding just the right touch. Earthy bites that sat well with me. The biscuits and butter were okay. They are denser and heavier than I'd prefer. Their filet, which comes as a barrel cut portion, was everything and more. Good-quality Texas beef is 2nd only to Alberta beef in North America, and if you care about these things, you'll enjoy the meat here. Tender as it should be.
