We signed a…read morecontract with AAA indicating that we were committed to have them pick up our son after school for the year. What we didn't know is that AAA was inflexible when we moved out of the area before the end of the school year. Paul, the proprietor of this place, insisted that we pay for the rest of the year because of the contract. Aparently there is no clause that makes provision for this situation. We blame ourselves for that, but we found that Paul's unwavering attitude to the letter of the contract left us with a bitter taste in our mouths. I am sure good things happen at AAA, but our last impression was that the proprietor was more interested in lining his pockets rather than to serve families.

We find this odd as the business seems to exist for the profit of the owners. For whom are we supposed to be fundraising? This is in addition to a policy of regularly nickel and diming parents: test fees, photos for an extra price, competition fees, etc. Master Paul and Master Tim ostensibly want to grow their business but are not interested in improving their product. Master Paul and Master Tim do not lead all the classes: often they are led by teenage children, however the regular amount is charged. This was not disclosed as a regular policy when we signed up. In the last six weeks we have changed our son's school and our pick up needs have changed. We did not ask to pay any less for the after school program though we were receiving far less services. Now we are moving out of state and therefore will not use the last week of the after school program at all. Master Paul refused to give us any discount and insisted that we have a contract and we must pay the full amount.

The Master (surprisingly) was young, but after one trial class, my 7 year old daughter was hooked. She loved how Master Andrew made classes fun, entertaining, and filled with laughter, but also included times for serious learning accordingly. He understands if the kids are having a difficult time with certain forms, but continues to encourage them which helps give them that push to continue, rather than to quit. This dojo is also run by the most family-oriented family, whom (from what I've seen) all remembers each students and their families names. They are constantly sanitizing and keeping the place clean. Yes, even before covid hit. 4 years later, my daughter who started out as a no belt, holds a second degree black belt. Thank you to Master Andrew and Master Yang for having superb positive teaching values for the children.

My son struggles with paying attention in school, but here he loves "focusing" and learning new techniques. It's the right balance of challenge and accomplishment. The facility is nice enough, there is enough room for all the kids to spread out. Class sizes are around 12-15, which is perfect. Belt progression is not guaranteed, and belt testing is serious. Master Andrew trains his students to be competitive and many do participate in state and national competitions, but we're only white belt, so a ways to go still. If you're looking for a family-friendly, flexible, fun and competitive environment, this is the place.

Along the way, he's developed discipline, cultural appreciation, and confidence. The instructors are exceptionally knowledgeable and patient, taking the time to ensure each student understands techniques while fostering growth and self-assurance. They strike a perfect balance between structure and encouragement, challenging students to improve while keeping classes fun and engaging. It's clear they care deeply about helping students grow both physically and mentally. The studio itself is clean, well-organized, and rooted in a strong sense of community. I highly recommend Quest to anyone looking to study martial arts in a positive, professional environment.

We started our daughter at Quest when she was 5, after her doctor noted that it would be beneficial for her to engage in activities that built her core body strength. We looked for some time for activities that we knew would not just help with her strength, but would also encourage long term participation and self-confidence. Our daughter started as a white belt, and worked her way all the way up to two black belts. Masters Debbie and Jim are incredibly professional, and a wealth of knowledge. They build both CONFIDENCE and COMPETENCE for all the students. Prices for classes are a bargain, honestly, and a real value for the amount of leadership and life lessons that are included in classes. Our daughter is thriving as a result of her long term engagement with Quest. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Masters Debbie and Jim. You have made a true difference in her life and in all of those around her.
