They then tried to upsell me to a stronger dosage of whitening for a 30 minute session vs 50 minute session and when I let her know I would stick with what I had, she canceled my appointment on the spot. I would be hesitant to have anything from this establishment put into my mouth. Will be disputing the charge since my appointment was canceled without a refund.

We moved to Scottsdale about six or seven years ago. My wife did a ton of research before picking a…read moredentist and she chose S&L with Dr. David Ngo. I went with a different place at first because it was closer to where we were living. Well, that turned out to be a mistake. I ended up having a bad experience there and finally switched to S&L. Dr. Ngo and his team fixed everything the other dentist had messed up. Right away I knew my wife had been right all along. I've been going to S&L for four years now and they really are the best dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Ngo has removed all my old metal fillings and replaced them with modern ones, plus he's done a couple of crowns for me. Everything looks and feels great. My wife has also been extremely happy with all the work he's done for her too. I'm almost 55 and I've seen a bunch of top-rated, highly recommended dentists over the years, both here in the US and a couple in Mexico. Nothing else comes close. One thing I have to mention is how good Dr. Ngo is with people who hate dental visits or get nervous about pain. His work is excellent, but it's the way he takes care of you that makes the biggest difference. For example, the way he does Novocaine shots is unbelievable. You barely feel it at all. Every dentist out there should learn his technique. With all that said, I do think the front office experience could be better. If the customer service up front matched Dr. David's clearly caring vibe, it would be 100% perfect. If you're looking for a truly professional dentist who gives five-star care and service, this is the place. Dr. David Ngo at S&L is the only one I would recommend without any hesitation.

I chose this dentist because of all the amazing reviews, and so I thought I'd detail my experience…read morebecause it wasn't as perfect as the reviews make it seem. They seem very knowledgable and seem to know what they're doing when it comes to dentistry, but my concerns are more in the administration side of things. I changed jobs earlier this year and got new insurance with a common major insurance provider, and I needed to get a procedure done. I asked them what the procedure would cost and they gave me a quote, which was already expensive, and I paid that at the time of service. However, when I came in for a routine cleaning 6 months later, they said the insurance "didn't pay as much as they thought" and stuck me with MORE THAN DOUBLE their original quote. I looked into the insurance claim and called the insurance company myself, and the insurance company paid exactly what was according to their billing schedule. There were no surprises. I think the office knew (or should have known, because they're the professionals and this is what they do) that this would happen, and they dishonestly gave me a lower quote, did the service, and then stuck me with the even more expensive bill (but to their credit, they did give me a lower price than what they billed to insurance, but it was still VERY expensive that I was not prepared for). Additionally, I distinctly recall the procedure treated four teeth, but then on the bill and insurance claim, they say they treated six. Unfortunately, I don't really know how to argue this, especially because it happened so long ago. I suspect they didn't contact me about this issue earlier for this exact reason. Again, dishonest. Another concern with this dentist is that it's unprofessional that they use Zelle to get around credit/debit card transaction fees. Every merchant has to deal with card transaction fees, they shouldn't be up-charging that cost and they shouldn't be using Zelle, which is supposed to just be a peer-to-peer payment network. Lastly, as much as I love dogs, I don't think it's hygienic that they keep a dog in their office. In all, I started off loving this dentist, and very disappointed that they turned out to be this unprofessional and dishonest. I'm sad I'll have to go elsewhere from now on.

I am Absolutely smiling with much whiter teeth today after Stephen did his magic yesterday…read more I want to thank Stephen immensely...I'm tickled pink to have had such a great experience with him yesterday. It was so surprisingly easy and relaxing !!! Stephen made a previously stressful impossible teeth whitening experience for me ....turn into not only able for me to tolerate teeth whitening but the BEST experience ever!!! I truly appreciate all the time he spent from educating, listening to concerns, needs and wants to the actual process! A total class act from start to finish!!! You honestly feel right at home being walked thru every step all while listening to your favorite music. There truly isn't anything that would have made the experience better. I honestly think my teeth even look whiter today (my husband agrees)! I had done regular professional teeth whitening at my regular dentist office until 3 years ago. It was so much chaos, the technician being distracted leaving me very uncomfortably with my head hanging below my body while having other conversations in the office. After 30 minutes with only part of the gum protection on I had a panic attack and had to leave. Was never going to put myself in that position again. After reading many reviews from many businesses I decided to give Stephen a try. Let's face it ....when all you do is whiten teeth the chances of being an expert go up dramatically. He knocked my experience out of the park so far that I'm going back for a 2nd session in a few days to get the absolute Whitest my teeth can get!!! You don't realize how much your teeth regress and how badly they become stained in 3 years. My photos tell that story. It's easy to following aftercare instructions to a T. He gives you everything you need including the products. Putting on red lipstick last night took my results to the next level....my teeth looked amazing! All thanks to STEPHEN!!! Honestly I can't thank him enough for the wonderful experience. All because of STEPHEN I can finally have white teeth again. I'm beyond excited to see our next results from round 2 in a few days. If you are on the fence for any reason whatsoever...take it from someone who was never going to do a professional whitening again... Make that giant leap into his office and have yourself a memorable awesome whitening experience from the first step in the door until your after photos.
