This was my first time visiting White Tank Library and I will definitely be back! I was mostly excited about their selection of puzzles. They have a puzzle honor system shelf - take a puzzle and bring it back whenever you're done! Amazing for someone who enjoys puzzling as a hobby like myself. It was spacious, lots of areas to sit, beautiful scenery you can see out the windows, clean space.

This is one of the best libraries in the West Valley! I frequent the White Tank Library to check out books and magazines. Yes, I still prefer to read a book! Also, to enjoy the amazing desert scenery and the quietness. Inside, there is a large collection of media. Additionally, outside you can sit down and enjoy watching birds and looking at flowers and Saguaro cacti.

Wow, what a wonderful library with excellent Mountain View! It located in a remote area and was surrounded by mountains, bushes and huge cactus. This library is definitely a hidden gym. Think about reading in front of a huge window with extraordinary desert view!

Well, It was fathers day weekend, mother decided to visit from Cali. It was about 110 degrees outside, and most likely getting out of town would have been a hassle. So we took the kids to the library at White Tanks. I have always wanted to stop by to check this place out. This is definitely a hidden gem. Kids had a ball, there was plenty of things there to keep them busy. Games, coloring, reading, watching movies, and all kinds of activities. They also have about six different kinds of rattlesnakes, three king snakes, and a gila monster on display. There was an actual feeding at 1:00 that day. There is also coffee and snacks for the adults. You can enjoy the view and drink your cup of joe. It's a must see place, especially if you want to get out of the heat. Kids and adults will love this place.

This library is unlike any other. It is seated up against white tanks mountain and they have brought the wildlife feel into the library. There are a few live snakes you can view in the wildlife room. This is a very large and spacious place. There is an extremely large amount of computers to use, huge selection of dvds you can rent as well as of course...books! I noticed a few private rooms with doors and glass windows that can be used for studying privacy. I found this to be a neat idea and some people were using them. I was happy to find my favorite book here, Pride and Prejudice. I was also able to find the classic Little Women for my daughter. The book selection here is great! Classics as well as new releases. They have a large section for kids to stay busy. This library also holds some fun events such as late night star gazing with telescopes, kids activities, yoga, Pinterest art and wine night, etc. I did also see a sign for horse back riding! We like to hike white tanks mountain and stop into this library. I suggest giving it a try for a fun Saturday morning! If you like nature and books.. you will be in love.

How have I never been here before today?? The second we pulled into the parking lot it was beautiful. You walk right up to some amazing views of the cacti and desert. If you turn back to look the way you came you can see all the way down to downtown Phoenix. Nestled right in front of the White Tank Mountain entrance you are in for a treat. Inside the entry way there is a snack and drink area with vending machines and tables, a nature preserve where they have a rattle snake and scorpions, and a small bookstore where you can buy used books between 50 cents and two dollars. Inside the library itself there is so much light coming through the beautiful windows, and the chairs are positioned to look out to the views of the mountains. I picked up a paper to show some great activities coming up like yoga, beginner water painting, and kids science activities. The nature center also has times where you can even watch them feed the snake. After we checked out more of the library and books we took a walk outside on the trail and saw the Sonoran Desert Tortoise as well as sat on some benches to take in the great views of the mountains. There was the biggest cactus I've ever seen. I am in love. Out of all the years I've lived in Arizona and all the libraries I've been in this is my favorite library.

The White Tank Library has a view unlike any other, and exceptional AC during a hot summers day. It's a spectacular view, really, very wonderful. When I go there it is to take a break from my very stressful job. I don't know, its something about this place that really brings out the creativity in me, it is quite comfortable, and it is as like in awesomeness, the great libraries of my school years. My latest visit, started normal, but as for my experience I will be glad to write. Just like any other day I stopped briefly in the museum (its at the base of a regional park) and get some water, before using my laptop to do some computer work. To my "surprise" it was VERY quiet as no children making noise, no people were having conversations, and all were being respectful library patrons. That was, until I noticed that the employee chatter didn't stop when a library patrons question was answered. I mean, it went on and on! Here I saw the nice hard working librarians putting books away. I'm sure they didn't want to be there as much as these two librarians who seem not too troubled by their duties that need carried out. The lady on the left talked loudly for ever, and at one point even got the security guard up her conversation. Let me rehash: CONVERSATION in the LIBRARY, and they WORK there. Where I'm from we don't talk in the library because it breaks other people's concentration. Usually this place is peaceful and quiet. Usually no one is talking. Shoot, even in my middle school, if a fart would make everyone laugh, still NO ONE talked. It's called RESPECT. I uploaded a picture. They talked for the whole 30+ minutes that I was present. I could say more but I won't. Yeah. Don't. Okay. Aff. These are PAID employees TALKING in a LIBRARY. I won't go back for awhile. It's not a happy place anymore to me.

What a beautiful place. There is a ton to offer at this library. Today they had booths on conservation, a dog adoption mobile and some awesome information booths and speeches about our beautiful Arizona desert.

    You better keep quiet.

Although I am not a resident of Surprise or Arizona for that matter, I was able to sign up for a free library card. You can check out physical books or download the Surprise Library app and find links to the Hoopla and Libby apps for free digital content downloads including movies, TV shows, podcasts, audiobooks, music, and more. They have laptops and WiFi devices available, but there seems to be a very long wait for these. People can check them out for a 3-week period. You can also use computers there at the facility. I loved seeing a group of friends playing games at a table. There was also a Seed Library for people wanting to grow their own plants. The Library of Things (LOTs) seems to be popular for kids to checkout toys. My favorite item was the cultural pass. They had available passes to a variety of museums and cultural establishments. You could checkout a pass and use it within a seven day period. I wanted to checkout the free pass to the Phoenix Art Museum. Unfortunately, this branch didn't have one available at the moment I came in, but the staff was kind enough to direct me to another branch that had it and they held it for me since they knew I was on my way. The pass was good for two free admissions to the art museum. This saved us over $50. What an amazing service offering! There are countless events on the calendar, especially for young families. It's definitely worth visiting your local branch to find entertainment and educational resources to enrich your life.

There's even an option to check out a ukulele at this branch! We checked out the Friends of the Library Bookstore attached to the library by a small hallway with restrooms, a relaxation room and a microfiche room. The bookstore is one of the nicest and most curated friends of the library bookstores I have seen. Everything is organized alphabetically and decorated and clean. Books are very affordable priced around $0.25 to $1.00. We were greeted by the friendliest staff helper when we walked in.

So what did we make? Fidgets. One black one like a mini joystick, an Oreo, and a clicking gear (all shown in my pics). She explained that they are fun for everyone, but that neurodivergent people like those with ADHD find them handy to help increase focus or for self soothing. She had books about neurodivergency lined up on the book cart so we could look through them and check them out if we wanted to. I wasn't expecting this extra educational aspect to what I thought was just seeing a 3d printer work, so it was a very well rounded program and all of us in this multi age group really enjoyed it.
