I got the works. $30.00. I get in my car after a generous tip to the gentleman wiping it down to discover the dash is dirty, the console has crumbs and residue all over it. I get out of my car and go in to ask the lady behind the counter. She tells me that I need to pay a $12.00 charge for interior work if I want that kind of work done on my car. Are you kidding? I went in for a detail and my car looks amazing!! I'm so happy with the results! I had years of bugs caked onto my front bumper and lights and I thought it would never come off. Car Bath got it all off!! I was so thrilled! I will say the seats are not perfect but they are 100x better than what they were (that's the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). Car Bath is old-skool car wash...The place isn't going to blow you away facility-wise. It's 50 years old for crissakes. But 50 years for a reason: they give a great car wash. I'm picky about my car (yelled at the kid for spilling water on the seat belts, won't let him have 5 course meals in the backseat, get sweaty palms when someone takes a drink in my ride), OK maybe I'm a little psycho about the car. Car Bath always cleans it nicely. $12.95 for the regular wash--they vacuum inside and clean the mats, the automated car wash does a pretty nice job on wheels, and then the final clean-up guys wipe down dust inside, clean fingerprints on NAV screens and such, and dry the car. Make sure they put some tire shine on if you like that. If you become a repeat customer, there's a $1 coupon on your claim form for your next visit. The people have always been really friendly as well. And yes, the car wash guys are car wash guys...you know, probably not Ivy League educated, etc, but I have seen the same employees there for the last three years except for one or two of them, so you know they are consistent and dependable. One word of caution: watch out for the funny curb-thing as you pull back out on to Garland Rd.--I've seen many drivers all excited with their fresh clean car drive right over the top of the curb...not good for your alignment (but really amusing for everyone waiting for their car!). read more

I am writing about my first and last experience at this establishment. I tried this place after reading all the glowing reviews of Car Bath on Yelp. Needless to say that my review reflects my belief that most reviews are somewhat inaccurate. While I agree that a $6 wash might be a deal, any services beyond the wash itself are lacking. To wit, I paid $30 for the mega-wash which basically means a pretty solid clean in and out of the car. If you look at the pictures I posted online, Car Bath did not do a good job of cleaning the interior of my car. The floor was especially dirty even after the cleaning -- at least the floor in the back. The real head scratcher is that the front looks fabulous. I give this place 2 stars because parts of the experience suggest the place could be fantastic (and affordable). The wash looks good, the front part of the car is nice and clean, and the service was kind and fast. The down side is that anything beyond basic cleaning seems rushed (perhaps because it is fast) and not worth $30. I noticed people comparing this place to The Carmel Wash on Mockingbird lane, often to the detriment of the former company. I could not disagree more. While Carmel is more expensive, the quality of service far exceeds that of Car Bath. I think the pictures I have posted speak for themselves. $30 for that? I will pass in the future. read more

I want to start this out by saying I've been going here for over 10 years and my mother for many more on top of that. I brought in her minivan today to be cleaned. It parks under a pecan tree so it has tree sap on it. Tree sap requires a lot of elbow grease to get off, which is why I decided to pay someone to do it instead of doing it myself. They didn't clean it at all. It looks like they started on the driver side door and then stopped when they realized how difficult it would be. The man came inside and said they did all they could but it wasn't coming off. He said it had been on too long and in the sun too much. It was cleaned last time by me about a month ago. And it never sits in direct sunlight for the most part. It's parked under a tree at the house (duh) and in a parking garage when she's at work. They lady at the front just said "it's been bad this year". I paid nearly $15 for absolutely nothing. I'm going to have to clean it still and I got treated like it was permanent and there was nothing they could do. Absolutely just laziness. Some cars require little to no elbow grease to clean, and some will require hard work. That's the job. I'm just appalled that somewhere I have been coming for so long would treat me like this and not even offer a discount. I will not be back. read more

You know how some women go to get their nails done and relax? And some men go to Hooters...to relax? This is the place your vehicle needs to go to relax! What a face lift for a dirty car! There are 4 or 5 options to go through the washing machine and I'm sure several others for stitch by stitch detailing. My family has come here for centuries...or at least as old as my grandparents and as old as this place is. There are no frills about this place...but who needs frills when you get a free fragrance wafer?!? The guys that vacuum, suck so good it's unreal! The guys that do the drying, have a real knack with a towel. The owners are always there with smiles on their faces! I was pretty unimpressed with this car wash. The people were nice but the car wash was ok. I had some bird poop on my car and you can still see some of the leftover residue if you look closely. Also, the side mirrors were not cleaned very well. The vacuuming was sub-par. I got the deluxe car wash but I like the car wash that I normally go to better! Great local business with relatively quick service. Staff was super friendly and the place has a nostalgic feel to it. They've done a great job on the exterior of my vehicle each of the times I've been there but the interior work has been a mixed bag. I've even paid extra for the wipe down but the quality really depends on who is staffed that particular day. You may leave with a pristine dash but old stains left on the door. Sometimes it takes me awhile to get the dirty truck in for a good bath. This is the only place to get your truck washed. They make certain the bed is clean and the back seat is up to vacuum the floors. I love the full detail that makes my 9 year old truck look and smell like new! read more

This place is conveniently located on Garland Road between Easton and Peavy. I've been twice and both times I got the $14.95 deal-- includes the "new car" air freshener. They are quick, friendly, and do a great job on the interior and exterior of the car. Not only do they vacuum, but they wipe out all the nasty nooks and crannies that get loaded down with dust, trash, and other yuck. It's the best full service car wash I've been to in Dallas, especially for the money. It's old school, but so am I. Mel, the owner has been there the full 50 and has been assisted for years by his son Chuck and cashier daughter Dina. It's a family enterprise. The interior cleaners and driers have been there for years....even decades, so Mel must treat his people right. Mel also owns the detail shop next door and it's a hidden secret. I particularly recommend the exterior detail. You won't get any swirls in your wax job and your car will come out looking fantastic, and the price is exceptional. read more

If you want a cheaper carwash compared to uptown, then get over to white rock. the facilities look pretty beat down from the outside, but all of their equipment like the washers and vacuums appear powerful. For just a wash, it seems like there is a permanent special price of $6, for which they will send your car through an automatic wash that you can watch from the inside. I just wanted the interior vacuumed, which isn't a standard service they offer. However, they did it anyway and charged me $7, which is honestly kind of expensive for just a vacuum but i did not wanna clean a year's worth of gravel and hair out of my car! And they did a great job with the vacuum, like 98% clean, and then wiped down all surfaces, cleaned the windows in and out. I did not, however, enjoy the old rag smell in my car after I got inside, or seeing my car mats haphazardly thrown back onto the floor, but these things are minor annoyances. read more

I stopped by to get my car cleaned, and I got the sloppiest car wash I've ever witnessed. I paid $14.95 for the deluxe wash, and my car wasn't that dirty, but it came out worse than it went it. The windshield was so covered in streaks that I had to stop by the house to clean it again. The floors were very poorly vacuumed. Then, I took a look at the wheels, and they had even less shine than before. I saw him scrubbing them, but I guess all he did was scrub off the tire shine that I'd sprayed on, without applying any more. I definitely regret tipping him, but I handed it to him in the same way you tip a valet, meaning that I didn't do a full inspection and assumed it would be done better than I could do at a do-it-yourself facility.
