Never was a new cinema anticipated as much as this one. after months of apparent inaction on the building site suddenly St Austell's long awaited cinema opened its doors just in time for Christmas, with hundreds of local people losing bets that it would never open in time.
How wrong we were - the building is modern, crisp, a vast improvement on the old cinema. Sweets, ice-creams and popcorn are reassuringly expensive (so stock up beforehand in your local supermarket) and there is a social bar area where you can meet up with friends before seeing your chosen film.
We found the seats comfortable, roomy, spacious - overall a surprise! The carpets are a bit 70s but can't have everything.
There isn't any parking nearby yet but it means you have plenty of time to discuss the film on the way back to your car.
In summary, a pleasant surprise, a real treat for St Austell, and one we will go to again and again! read more
