I was scheduled today for this location 9 AM. I was waiting in front of the doors since 8:55 AM open the location 9:02 AM stuff was still coming from 9:02 to 9:15 AM to be there 30 minutes before opening. When I sign my name on wedding list, I noticed another five people signing at the same time 9 AM.. they make me wait 30 minutes. If you care about your teeth at all please do NOT come here. I was a patient for 2 years and was left traumatized by every experience. I should've known by the name it was a money grab, but my experiences speak for themselves. A) After a normal cleaning, they said I had a chip in my back molar and to come back to have it fixed. (Very regular had it done several times) no problem. When I returned they told me they were going to shave a bit and fix the chip.It wasn't until the next day, when I woke up I drank water felt immediate pain, went to look in the mirror and a yellow bone nub from where my tooth had been was exposed and raw. I had no idea they had shaved down my entire tooth to the gums. I went back upset no one had clarified what their specific treatment plan was. They said it was only temporary. They put on a second temp cap and said the new permanent cap would be better for my health.Returned again then his 1st "permanent" cap fell off within the same wk. More pain, more frustration. For the 4th time I returned to have a "new,new permanent" cap put back in because I could not eat or drink my new nub was so sensitive. He told me this one should last at least 10 years, but I doubt it. I was beside myself. B) My insurance only covers 1 teeth cleaning a year. (2 a yr is recommended) so I would pay for 1 outta pocket, cash. As soon as my insurance renewed they would harass me with calls, voicemails claiming that I was behind on my cleanings and needed to call to schedule. Only I had just paid for a deep cleaning cash 1 month before. Finally I called back to ask couldn't they see in my file that I had just been there? The desk person told me No, actually they only keep track of what they bill insurance. So no one's keeping track of your treatment here, just your insurance receipts. read more

My daughter's first visit to a dental office and it was a success! Dr. Chung and his staff were very accommodating, understanding and helpful. Their office is clean and organized. They have monitors in every room. You can watch a movie while you get your dental work done. Way better than staring at the ceiling. Haha! My only wish is if they were in a better, less congested location. They are located in a small plaza in the corner of Western Ave & Santa Monica Blvd. Always a hassle with traffic and don't get me started with parking. It's horrible and very limited. But once you get in the front doors, you immediately forget all the inconveniences. I feel very comfortable with Dr. Chung and his staff to take care of my family's dental health. Dr. Chung is so patient and gentle. I have very sensitive teeth and I cannot stand the sound when my teeth are getting cleaned or drilled. He made sure I was comfortable and relaxed. He let me use my ear phones so I can listen to music while he worked on my teeth. I came to him after neglecting my teeth for years. He saved a lot of my teeth with lots of fillings. The staff are helpful and nice. They are so fast and efficient. If I had an appt at 9am on Sat then I knew I would be out by 9:30am and that would include X-Rays and Cleanings. The office is clean with AC. They play movies in the waiting rooms and while they are working on your teeth. Lots of kid friendly movies. They have the flexible monitors in the rooms so you can move them around. X-Rays are digital so they can look at the results on the monitors with you before they start working in your teeth. I made my appt months in advance and I would get a reminder call a couple days before each appt. Sadly, they no longer take HMO only PPO so it breaks my heart that I might have to change dentist next year. read more

After having in gone in on 4/19/17 to get my tooth examined I had to wait for approval from insurance to get a root canal. In the meantime I was prescribed amoxicillin twice. The med no longer was stopping the infection. Then I was prescribed penicillin. It finally stopped helping too. So Brenda said that I could come in for an emergency appt. No mention of money. I made the appointment and showed up the next day. Dr. Chung strolled in in his it's his FRIDAY I GOT CRAP TO DO SLACKS AND SHIRT. He tapped my tooth a couple of times and of course the pain was excruciating. He asked the girl something in Korean I think. I heard the word EMERGENCY. She not he came into tell me that there would be no emergency work done on my tooth because the insurance had not approved the work. I told them that I had called the insurance company and was told that Dr. Chung's office had never sent them any paperwork pertaining to my case at all. I was ticked off because not only was I barely hanging on with pain, my fear of the infection spreading to my brain was no unfounded. People have died from dental infections. Now comes the hustle. She said he would do the emergency work for 100.00 and IF the insurance approved it I would have 100.00 credit. WTF. First of all the insurance probably wouldn't pay him a 100.00. So he would have my 100.00 (which I didn't have) and the fee the insurance company paid him. I on the other hand would have given him a 100.00. That should be illegal. I told him just prescribe me something for the infection and I would find another dentist. He wrote the script for the amoxicillin. The same med that wasn't working. I told him that he'd already prescribed. I asked for penicillin, but thought better of it because it too was barely keeping the infection in check. He wrote the script and started speaking to her in Korean, I think. I told him he was very disrespectful and that as a patient I had a right to know exactly what was going on. Besides they both spoke English when talking about money. I hate when people do that. He wrote the prescription for both meds that weren't working. He would have known that had he consulted my chart. Which he never did. I called my pharmacist at Target. He knew that those meds weren't helping me, so he recommended augmentin. Dr. Chung wrote the script. The number one question to ask is why did Dr. Chung not know that. Frankly, I don't think he gave a crap. I was just a person annoying him who had no money for him that day and he wasn't going to go out of his way to help me. Which he didn't. I will call the insurance to see if I can I can take my approval to another dentist. There are lots of things to die from, tooth infection shouldn't be one. Dr. Chung. One day someone will treat you as disrespectful and with as little regard as you treated me. read more

Came here based on reviews but my experience was disappointing . Their communication sucks . They don't call back when they say they will . I needed to get a root canal asap so I gave them my insurance information and they ended up sending the claim to the wrong adress . They told me it takes a month for an insurance to approve a claim. After a month I called back and they told me that they didn't know why my insurance didn't get anything and they were going to call me back . They never ended up calling back so I wasted my time going there and wasted money on a consultation and X-rays . Today i went in to another dentist and did my root canal procedure the same day ! They called my insurance the same day and got approved . Please don't waste your time going to this place unless you are trying to pay out of pocket ! If I could give this place a zero I will, I took my daughter since she was 1 year old. Thinking she was getting a good treat until I took her to another dentist. The dentist here literally kept seeing my daughter for like less than 2 min and telling us she was fine and just to keep brushing her Teeth. Dentist at school recommended me to take her to another dentist due to the fact that she has cavities and this was told to me just couple weeks of taking her here. Now to find out that she has 5 cavities and one is so bad that they may have to extract her tooth. If this so called dentist would have just taken the right amount of time to check her teeth instead of just seeing her for a minute and tell us she was ok this wouldn't have happen. Regret 100% taking her here and her new Dentist is so patient with kids. If someone with kids Is considering this place PLEASE DONT !!!! I love Dr Steve. My tooth came out swiftly and the shots were quick and minimally painful. Usually I have a buttload of pain at the dentist, but NOT THIS TIME!!! CDC and OSAP violation. Dr. Chung used the same gloves on two different patients. Although it was only an exam, he touched the inside of the mouth with the same gloves. This is a potential risk of bloodborne pathogens and other infectious disease. I was watching over his exams and deeply disgusted by his behavior. I will not be returning. read more

My child has Medi-cal. We inquired about braces and Dr. Chung stated he doesn't have enough experience although he is an orthodontic specialist. Now, the same Dr. Chung insisted that he, himself proceeds with the orthodontic procedure for my child months prior. I was more than happy to pay out of pocket but Dr. Chung was reluctant to accept my child because of his "medi-cal" status. read more

All the dentists here are so professional and treat patients with care and they make you feel welcomed! The ladies at the desk are also very nice! The downfall from this place is the dentists assistant, totally not humble, seems like she's never in the mood. She thinks she's the dentist herself and she's just a staff. The dentists here like I said are very kind and make you feel comfortable but you can just feel that bad vibe of the assistant and like I said SHES just the assistant and she thinks she's the dentist and not even the dentist acts that way they're very humble if you ask me ! I had a very good experience here. For starters the office is very clean and the equipment is up to date. Although it's located in a busy area if you're appointment isn't during rush hour you shouldn't have a problem. The staff is very polite and helpful. They make you sign an arbitration agreement. Basically if you're a pregnant woman who loses her baby because of their incompetence or neglect you cannot sue them properly in court, you have to go to a private arbitrator who could award you very limited damages. Already a red flag. I refused any treatment but cleaning. Lo and behold: when I receive my insurance claim they have charged me for an evaluation (never happened) as well as for topical application of fluoride (never happened.) When I called them to request a copy of my evaluation, they obfuscated for a while, but finally they agreed that they cannot refuse me my own dental medical records. They e-mailed me my evaluation and it had no information on it. Just that I have good teeth and hygiene. Nothing about risks, bite, gums, et cetera. And guess what - they forgot to forge one thing - they forgot to include the fluoride treatment in their fake and back-dated evaluation. At this moment I am waiting to hear from my insurance's fraud department. My advice: don't go near that place with a 10-foot pole! They are frauds! It's shameful that such physicians have dental licenses in the state of CA! read more

Dr. Steve is amazing, and his staff is smart and competent. Their tech system (x-rays sent to their computer screens practically immediately) makes everything move swiftly. Wait times are non-existent, some times I'm called in earlier from the waiting room than my appointment time, and the procedures (cleanings, etc.) are done very professionally. It was a godsend that we accidentally found this place by simply stopping one day at the mini-mall on Western/Santa Monica where they are located. 5 stars all the way!!! read more

I've seen both dentists here, and will only see Dr. Steve moving forward. I feel very comfortable with him, which is very important to me; I am a dental chicken. My last experience wasn't great with the front staff, but always had been previously. I am going back soon and will update if appropriate.
