While reclining in the dental chair, my blood pressure was checked for the first time. I was informed by Sammy, the dental technician?, that this is a new procedure as the practice continues to update its protocols. My blood pressure was taken twice using a CVS store-brand cuff placed over a thick sweater. During the first reading, my arm was positioned hanging down at my side with my arm bent on the dental bed. I was not asked to rest it at heart level, nor was I seated with my feet flat on the floor, as is standard practice in most medical settings. The second reading was taken in the same manner, again over my sweater and arm hanging down. I slightly adjusted my arm position myself during the second attempt. Both readings were elevated, and I was told that my dental cleaning could not proceed. And...that's ok. What I found concerning is that upon returning home, I checked my blood pressure using two different machines BEFORE taking my medication. I took my sweater off, sat upright, feet on floor, and arm by chest/heart level. While my readings were elevated, they were SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the measurements taken at the dental office. If blood pressure readings are being used to determine whether routine dental care can proceed, it is important that staff are properly trained in correct blood pressure measurement techniques. To clarify, I do have high blood pressure, and my physician and I manage it carefully. In addition, I had not yet taken my medication prior to the dental appointment. However, my at-home readings were nothing comparable to those taken at the dentist. Had my blood pressure truly been as high as indicated at the dentist, I would have sought immediate emergency care, especially given that I am pregnant and aware of the seriousness such readings would pose. I am grateful that I rechecked my blood pressure at home for peace of mind. I even called my doctor, went in to the doctor's office, showed my doctor the sweater, explained how it was done...and my doctor said it was done incorrectly! *For transparency, a prior positive post about this practice was made after being offered a discount for doing so. At this point, I believe it may be time to seek care elsewhere.

She told me to call back for a follow up if it persisted. Once the numbness wore off, the bite was definitely wrong. The filling felt too flat on top and didn't line up with my upper molar. I went back on Feb 20 for an adjustment, but Hyeyoung Cho came into the room with a hostile attitude. She basically started interrogating me. It's hard enough to articulate a bite issue since you can only go by feel, but her intimidating vibe made it so much worse. I felt so uncomfortable in the chair that I eventually just said "it's okay now" purely so I could get out of there and escape the hostile environment. After stepping out, I gathered myself and went back inside to try and resolve the issue one more time. The dentist practically yelled at me. She dismissively told me that if I wanted to get it checked, I should just go see another dentist. I have never had a professional act this way. You'd expect basic respect, especially when you're seeking help for discomfort caused by the dentist's own procedure. Her behavior was incredibly rude, showed a total lack of professionalism, and she outright refused to provide standard follow up care.

Dr. Mike and the team at Larchmont Dental Associates are awesome. Dr. Mike explained the whole procedure for my replacement filings as I'm pretty anxious at the dentist with metal equipment perusing my pearly whites, but he put me at ease and was very gentle to make sure I experienced no pain or discomfort. And Melissa at the front desk was thorough to make sure my insurance covers everything and if not, she's transparent on on the out of pocket cost and options. Everyone here is friendly and makes a potentially stressful visit, seamless. I definitely recommend going here :)

We did an X-Ray right away and it helped me understand where I am in terms of my root canal. This dentist truly does care about their patients and Dr. Steve is truly knowledge, genuine, kind, and caring! What a gem to have come across!

I visited Wilshire Center Dental Group for a scheduled dental cleaning. My appointment was at 10:30…read moream, and by 10:50 am the cleaning was already finished, which felt extremely rushed. The cleaning was done by an Asian male dentist (I don't recall his name). The procedure consisted only of manual tools, flossing, and a mouth rinse. No ultrasonic cleaning and no polishing were performed. After leaving the room, I could clearly feel that my teeth were still dirty. I went to the bathroom, checked, and there was visible plaque still present, especially on the inner surfaces of my lower teeth. I returned to the dentist to point this out, and he told me that this was "normal," without re-examining or correcting the cleaning. I took photos immediately after the appointment, which clearly show the remaining plaque. What made the experience worse was the dismissive and condescending attitude I received when I raised my concern. I genuinely felt treated as if I were ignorant for questioning the quality of the cleaning. As a Latino patient and someone using Medi-Cal insurance, I couldn't help but feel that my concerns were not taken seriously. This is concerning, because many patients may leave thinking their mouth is clean when it is not. A dental cleaning should leave teeth smooth and visibly clean, not with plaque still present. I would not recommend this clinic if you are looking for a thorough, professional dental cleaning or respectful patient care. I strongly suggest people stay away and consider other dental offices that take proper time and care with their patients.

He is super friendly and seems to genuinely care about all of your concerns! He was also thorough even though he is busy, and is an excellent dentist! Unfortunately, it seems like the clinic books dentists back to back so he had to run outta there to get to the next patient but hey that's healthcare for ya! After the check up, we also came in for a cleaning the following week. It was with an asian woman and that was the most painful cleaning we have ever had! When she applied numbing gel I thought I was in for a high quality cleaning where they put a lot of effort and care, but it felt like torture. My partner and I were so confused why it hurt that much, that I searched other reviews to see if anyone had similar experiences. Based on what others have said, apparently we might've had Margie, and she is notorious for painful cleanings. If I'm paying $25 out of pocket with an in-network provider, I expect something better than that.
