I'd like to start by saying, I never leave bad reviews. I cannot stress enough that this company is…read moreunprofessional and unreliable. I used this company for my small businesses payroll and things have been smooth for the last year until this month (February 2023). I noticed in mid February (2023) that my check had not arrived by mail yet. I reached out and they informed me that they do not track the checks and to look to see if it was cashed if I did not receive it. Sure enough, the check was cashed fraudulently twice and I had someone using my bank account for credit card fraud and other payments. Long story short, the Payroll Factory incorrectly addressed my payroll check for February and it became stolen, as the address they mailed it to, does not exist. The person who stole the check (a criminal), forged my signature twice to cash the check. They also then had access to my business's bank account and continued with more fraud, amounting in thousands of dollars of loss. Not only have I lost money, but I've lost time and peace of mind due to their negligence. Upon notifying them of this situation, they provided me a copy of the check they mailed to me, as a way to prove they did nothing incorrectly. However, upon taking 2 seconds to look at the actual check, I was able to confirm they mailed my check to an incorrect address. When I explained this, all I received was this reply from Megan Eynon, their Executive Vice President: "Carrie Anne, The Payroll Factory did not alter your check and cash it at your bank. We are not responsible for the fraud that took place." I was never suggesting that the Payroll Factory altered or cashed my check. I was explaining that they addressed my check incorrectly which caused this nightmare. I have not heard back in over 24 hours at this point. They are currently not taking any responsibility on the matter and based on their very blanketed reply, it is evident that they haven't taken the time to read my emails. I am horrified that such negligence could take place within a company who's sole job is to complete payroll and mail paper checks. When I explained what happened to them, they took no ownership and insisted I get direct deposit, which is honestly just unhelpful. If I need a paper check, I need a paper check and should be able to assume that the company I am paying to process my payroll, will handle my accounts with care. I am disgusted. If you are a business owner, do not hire this company. Go elsewhere. Mistakes happen, human error happens- sure. But to miss-address a very important piece of paper that has my bank account info is UNACCEPTABLE. The complete lack of empathy regarding my situation is what angers me most. The fact that not a single person I've emailed with, could even offer an apology or any consideration is unbelievable. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and doing all that I can to ensure any one who is need of payroll services avoids this horrible company at all costs.
