I'd like to start by saying, I never leave bad reviews. I cannot stress enough that this company is unprofessional and unreliable. I used this company for my small businesses payroll and things have been smooth for the last year until this month (February 2023). I noticed in mid February (2023) that my check had not arrived by mail yet. I reached out and they informed me that they do not track the checks and to look to see if it was cashed if I did not receive it. Sure enough, the check was cashed fraudulently twice and I had someone using my bank account for credit card fraud and other payments. Long story short, the Payroll Factory incorrectly addressed my payroll check for February and it became stolen, as the address they mailed it to, does not exist. The person who stole the check (a criminal), forged my signature twice to cash the check. They also then had access to my business's bank account and continued with more fraud, amounting in thousands of dollars of loss. Not only have I lost money, but I've lost time and peace of mind due to their negligence. Upon notifying them of this situation, they provided me a copy of the check they mailed to me, as a way to prove they did nothing incorrectly. However, upon taking 2 seconds to look at the actual check, I was able to confirm they mailed my check to an incorrect address. When I explained this, all I received was this reply from Megan Eynon, their Executive Vice President: "Carrie Anne, The Payroll Factory did not alter your check and cash it at your bank. We are not responsible for the fraud that took place." I was never suggesting that the Payroll Factory altered or cashed my check. I was explaining that they addressed my check incorrectly which caused this nightmare. I have not heard back in over 24 hours at this point. They are currently not taking any responsibility on the matter and based on their very blanketed reply, it is evident that they haven't taken the time to read my emails. I am horrified that such negligence could take place within a company who's sole job is to complete payroll and mail paper checks. When I explained what happened to them, they took no ownership and insisted I get direct deposit, which is honestly just unhelpful. If I need a paper check, I need a paper check and should be able to assume that the company I am paying to process my payroll, will handle my accounts with care. I am disgusted. If you are a business owner, do not hire this company. Go elsewhere. Mistakes happen, human error happens- sure. But to miss-address a very important piece of paper that has my bank account info is UNACCEPTABLE. The complete lack of empathy regarding my situation is what angers me most. The fact that not a single person I've emailed with, could even offer an apology or any consideration is unbelievable. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and doing all that I can to ensure any one who is need of payroll services avoids this horrible company at all costs. read more

This company is simply awful. Don't use them if you're a small business owner. Don't refer your worst enemy here. That is, unless you want to amass a balance of unpaid taxes and not receive any response from the company when you ask them to correct it. read more

This company is unprofessional. They missed a payroll period, my paralegal, as a result missed some of her bills, I advanced her money, and when I called The Payroll Factory to speak about this . Meg Eynon, instead of addressing the problem, tried to pass me off to someone in processing. I said I wanted to talk with her, because she was my contact. A short while later that day I received the below email We are not interested in pursuing a business relationship with you. They FIRED us as a customer... unbelievable!!! and left us in the lurch for our next payroll period. Meg did not answer any follow up emails by me asking for an explanation and refused any further communication. read more

The Payroll factory's service and support is so good that I don't even consider it. They are truly professionals and experts in all aspects of their profession. read more

My wife had an account with this company for a couple of months last year for herself and she needed to close it. I just called to find out if they could create a W-2 for last year? The woman I spoke with said that they would not be able to create a W-2 for my wife. I asked what her company would charge us to create one? The woman informed me that the cost would start at $1500.00 to unarchive the files and create a W-2. I must say I find that a bit extreme. Just thought others should be aware of this. read more

I cannot begin to express my disappointment with this company. A mistake was made in part by the payroll company, where a few of my first paychecks with my company were incorrect and had over payed me. The mistake was not caught until nearly an entire YEAR later, where the payroll Factory took absolutely no responsibility for the mistake and instead of trying to solve and mend the situation, childishly began blaming others not involved in the situation. Never once did I receive an apology from a single member of the payroll factory. Instead, my emails voicing my questions and concerns with how to handle the situation were completely ignored. It was the most unprofessional handling of a severe situation that I had ever been a part of. I really hate to give smaller local companies a bad review because I want to be able to support local companies. However, the lack of professionalism from this company was completely unacceptable and I could not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. They are incredibly rude and unprofessional. I stopped their services in October merely because I no longer had an employee and therefore did not require payroll services. They instantly became so rude and took 3-4 emails to get a response. Then I was being audited by my insurance company and I email them requested important documents (only 3 months after stopping services) and they claim they could not give me any records and wanted to CHARGE me $$ to have an IT company come in to pull the reports. They wanted to charge me money for my own documents?? Also, they claim they had been sending me all Employer documents but they were emailing them to my employee...rather than me, as the employer!!! Are you kidding me??? DO NOT USE THEM!!! read more
