There was a large deck behind the store with chairs and we had some nice downtime after driving all day, just sitting and listening to the sounds of the country. We had a very restful night. The next morning we had breakfast at Carters General Store & Deli which was really good, they had some of the smoothest great-tasting coffee! Best of all, owner Kyle sat and chatted with us and then other locals came and sat at the family-style table and joined us. It was such a comfortable, pleasant experience! There is a large wine selection and they have a small cigar bar. The service when we first arrived was pretty terrible. We ordered two hotdogs and two beers and it took 45 minutes to get them to us. There was a second couple sitting beside us and they explained this was the norm and hoped we got our order because they received their order, ate and left before we even got our beer. Overall this is a local spot that people and outsiders wouldn't know it was there unless a local took them. They do have gas and limited groceries as well.

The food came out really fast (for a party of 8) and it was good old country cooking. The restaurant is kind of a higher end Clarence's (in Ridgeway)...
