Recently i've been finally able to eat there and although acceptable it wasn't really that stunning. The price is slightly higher than normal - at around £10 per main course. I ordered mushrooms to start which were very well done, and then for my main course i had vegetarian lasagne with a side order of chips. The lasagne was microwaved with some fresh cheese melted on top to hide the crunchy bits, and the ingredients really didn't justify cost of the item. The chips were not that crisp, and were a little soggy and stuck together. The service was friendly enough, and when asked about the meal when i paid i did say that the lasagne wasn't stunning and the person did look a little guilty. I wouldn't not go there again, but i'd certainly investigate some of the other offerings ironbridge has to make.

We just happened upon it looking for a place for lunch in Ironbridge. Staff was very nice, good beer selection. I got the Black Pudding & Chorizo Beef Burger and my wife got the rump steak. Her steak was excellent: cooked perfectly with a delicious black pepper sauce. The burger I had was one of the best I've ever had. I would have never thought of putting black pudding in a burger, but it really does work! I've never stayed the night here, so I can't speak to that, but everything about lunch was wonderful!

We freuquently use this place for work outings because we can all afford to eat out and have a great night at the same time. I hear that it is closed for refurbishment in early 2009 but will be well worth a look when it re-opens. Food here has always been tasty, the do two menus, one of bar food etc and a more expensive one in the restaurant. Chillis, curries, lasagnes etc all taste home cooked rather than microwaved. Some nights live music or comedy makes for a lively, noisy crowd atmosphere.

This part of Wellington Road is, basically, single lane and the pub is situated between the two sets of traffic lights regulating traffic. A number of us spent the weekend at the Coalbrookdale Youth Hostel (appropriately enough, its address is 1 Paradise!) and this is the closest pub. Even if it were miles further away, we would have walked there as this is my idea of a perfect pub. There were no actual keg beers on view (apart from the ubiquitous Guinness) and seven hand-pulled real ales plus a real cider. The ales were superbly kept and served by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The locals were also friendly and welcoming and more than willing to suggest places to visit as well as how to get there, allowing for all the roads currently closed due to major flooding. Toilets and drinking areas were clean and looked after. There was a fascinating selection of magazines available in a rack in the bar; from specialist guitarist magazines, through local news items to CAMRA publications. There is a very small car park attached, but I suspect most would want to walk here as the drinks are so good.

The staff were great, and although there are a couple of stepped areas and high chairs that I wouldn't want my ankles to argue with in a merry state, it's a good joint. Whilst drinking brambles and other gin based lovelies, the pizzas wafting past us caught our eyes and looked pretty good- As well as this, there's a reasonable sized menu with your decnt looking pub standards. Friendly owner to boot too, seriously varied clientele so you won't feel out of place and I totally intend on going back for the quiz sometime.
