3 stars is for the food quality. Service is a bit lacking. However it's not that they have BAD service, but understaffed. Everything took forever. I felt bad for the bartender. Bussing tables, tending the bar & taking food orders. Food was pretty damn good. read more

A nice place where to have a drink or two, love the cocktail menu! Why only 3 stars? Because most times when I have been in, the bar does not have enough staff and there has been times I had to wait 15-20 min to get served. second thing is - very poor food menu. I have had food once there and it put me off doing it again - I had sausage& mash. My husband and I spent our wedding night in the White Hart hotel. I was really impressed by the room which was huge and had a lovely big bathroom. The decor was tasteful and the bed very comfy. The staff were all lovely and very friendly and breakfast the following morning very good. I would happily stay at the White Hart again. read more

Visited here on a Monday a party of 4 for afternoon lunch, our drinks order was promptly taken and brought to us, a further 20 mins for them to come and take our order for meals but that was only after we went to chase them up,food which can't fault took 40 mins to arrive. Another party which was a birthday party of 6 also complained off slow service and they had booked in advance.friendly staff all be slow in service. Toilets spotless. Visited again a few weeks later this time sat out side, again service was slow, only ordered tea and carrot cake, staff that day was new but could of done with a bit more training up, you can't eat their gorgeous carrot cake with your fingers! The standard they appear to expecting to achieve needs addressing, a 2nd cup of coffee brought to our table was spilt into saucer, no offer of fetching another one or offer to clean the spilt coffee off the table.another guest of our party had to sort the mess out by going to ask a staff member for a cloth and extra napkins. In summary friendly staff but they do need to address the standards for such a classy hotel this side is a let down. read more
