Five Star Home Care recommended Expert Medicaid Consultants (EMC) for handling my son's medicaid…read moredisability case. Five Star stated that working with EMC would expedite my son's case processing. This was absolutely NOT my experience. EMC is completely unprofessional ... They will never keep you in the loop, or return calls. Then when you call them out on that behavior, they'll switch you to a different case worker and the cycle continues (I started out with Sherly, then got switched to Jenny). I received paperwork in the mail regarding my son's case and I kept calling and emailing to request next steps from my son's case worker with no return call. I finally spoke with the case worker's supervisor, Jose, three days before the paperwork was due back at the NYSDoH and he was rude and condescending, basically making me feel like I was exaggerating the issue because I hadn't waited up to two weeks for a return call. This happened on a Friday ... Monday was a Holiday and the paperwork was due at the NYSDoH on that Tuesday. The Supervisor asked me to scan the completed paperwork to them, which I ended up not doing because quite frankly I was nervous EMC would not forward the information to the NYSDoH in time, and I would never know due to their complete lack of follow through and communication. It's obvious EMC lacks empathy and professionalism, and I intend to look into filing a formal complaint against this agency. I don't recommend this business, and I'm sure the only reason EMC has such a high google rating is because that platform is not reliable regarding auhenticity of reviews.

Even when…read morethey saw my review instead of calling to come to a place of peace they called my loved one harassing him. i am disturbed and disappointed in the care this agency has provided my loved one by leaving him days without aides, no nurse supervision visits, aides hiding in the bathroom pretending not to hear his calls (mind you my loved one is immobile), disrespecting my love one and talking down to him and not listening with empathy and respect. I will continue to advocate and leave honest reviews for others who are vulnerable like my love one to see and work with what's needed for their family member.

We were traveling to New York on vacation and wanted to know if there was a company that could care for my mother who needs help sometimes getting in and out of the shower. The woman we spoke to reassured us that they would be able to do this as long as we set things up before we came so that a caretaker & nurse could meet us there. We requested only female aides as my mother would not be comfortable with a male aide assisting her with the private matter of showering; the women who assisted my mother were very caring and gentle with her. She was very comfortable with them and enjoyed their good humor. I was impressed with the knowledge and understanding of this kind of situation. Thank you! A+
