SO, I initially wrote a very good post pre-surgery. Before surgery everything seemed just dandy. I stand by the pre-surgery customer service, although I was asked to write a review by my previous doctor at DeLoor, whom I shall not name in this post...
I was swiftly ushered into surgery and I had many questions. I don't feel I received appropriate pre /post surgery council.
Unfortunately, this experience turned into sheer horror and I would recommend you run the other way.
I didn't have all the information I needed to make a proper decision. I was rushed into a surgery that didn't solve ANY of my problems and cause awful disfiguring scars. I'm so sad, I don't have words. I'm in more pain, with scars, and no remedies.
I would not for any reason advise you to have a surgical procedure done at DeLoor Podiatry. I advise you to click the back arrow and find an alternate option.
Where do I begin? I asked multiple times if I would be able to bend my toes normally after surgery. I was told, "yes, we are not fusing bone you will still be able to bend your toes". That was misinformation. I met with Dr. Loor and found out this is not true. I will NEVER be able to bend 3 of my toes in the middle joint again. It's as if I live with 3 broken toes. It is very painful and life altering. I can't do many of the things I once did-like lunges of squats. Pains constantly shoot through places of my foot they did not before surgery. No one has contacted me or followed up with me to see how I am doing.
Once I signed up for surgery and they got their money, it was as if I didn't matter anymore. I almost had a corrective surgery with Dr. Loor to correct the work Dr. Sharobeem did, but my family urged me to get a second opinion.
***I was informed DeLoor Podiatry was once LOOR PODIATRY*** but because of all the awful reviews they kept getting, they changed their name/created a new Yelp page. Hmm...
De Loor podiatry is preventing me from getting a thorough second opinion--still to this day they have not been given all of my medical charts-which is ILLEGAL. The receptionist, Arina is most unhelpful, unresponsive, stopped replying to my emails, and only gave me pieces of my medical information. I had to wait days for my Hippa release form, and additional days for the pieces of my medical records sh released to me. DeLoor or Arina-still has not provided me all the X-Ray images of my entire case from all my visits as I requested, upon multiple occasions-in writing--after completing the appropriate HIPPA release. As a matter of fact, Arina IGNORED my last email.
I told Arina I may need to delay the corrective surgery Dr. DeLoor offered to do himself an she never got back to me. She never replied to my email.
I can't help but wonder, "if Dr. Loor performed this surgery himself-might it have gone better?"
He seemed much more knowledgable than Dr. Sharobeem and he took the time to explain all the details to me, but it was too little too late. The damage was done and the permanent immobilization of my joints had already taken place. I left that office in tears when Dr. DeLoor told me Dr. Sharobeem gave me misinformation and my toes would never bend again.
I learned-through an X-Ray I had to beg for, that a screw was placed in my right* foot. To this day, no one at De Loor Podiatry mentioned that I needed/or received a screw in my foot. It was only through looking at the X-Ray I found out. What else did they do to me and not mention? Maybe it's just me...But if you implant a foreign object into a patient's body without their consent, YOU SHOULD MENTION IT!
Why did I need a screw? What happened? Why didn't you tell me? Way too much information was not clearly communicated to me, including wound care. This resulted in me being concerned several times going in to see the doctors for post surgery care. I didn't know what to expect and I didn't want to get an infection!
My feet are actually worse and I am in more pain since I went to DeLoor Podiatry.
If you are reading this post, I still want my entire medical charts and it is illegal for you to withhold them from me!!! I have the right to ask a second practice for another opinion.
Should you chose to ignore my warning, make sure they put the wax on your bones (I wish Dr. Sharobeem put on mine in the first place--or even offered) to prevent excruciating scarred tissue from forming.
I'm saddened by this experience and each painful step is a constant reminder of the awful experience I've had here.
I really hoped for the best and thought Dr. Sharobeem was going to help me. I'm extremely disappointed.
I'm sorry, I can't lie-the service WAS great and turned into a nightmare. No one from this practice has reached out to try to rectify my case, which is even more disappointing. read more
