When she was back on her feet in independent senior living, we continued to use Visiting Angels to help in the morning and dinnertime. When she moved to Assisted Living in that facility, she needed extra help in the morning to shower, get dressed and eat breakfast and lunch. Visiting Angels was there no matter the need. The caregivers are professional, kind, caring and responsible. Special shout out to Betsy and Jackie who my mom adored because not only did they help but they were great company for her. I believe the great care she received from Visiting Angels was responsible for helping my mom live to 102 with all her faculties intact. When it came time for the paperwork there was another text exchange asking about the 2 year guarantee because my parents would fall short of it. She text me "Just be transparent on the financial form, that way we can plan for when they start to apply" That Friday the director started getting involved asking questions. Only to wind up denying them despite what I was told. Director Melissa Hingher told me she was going to talk to someone else at corporate and get back to me. 1 week later hadn't heard from anyone. I escalated it to their corporate office when Kenneth Segarnick emailed me back saying he received my email that was sent to the CEO Brenda Bacon. We scheduled a phone call and he backed them 100% didn't care what was in writing. Stated he wasn't a party to the conversation, but I have it in writing. Bottom line be careful with this place, they will tell you what you want to hear but won't back it up, they are liars simply put. Makes me wonder if they do this with admissions, what would they do when it came to care.

Always referring to how things are done in their country, guess what you are not in that country - you are here in the USA. For what you pay for this service it's an absolute crime. Please run in the opposite direction if you are considering using this service. No real oversite of the people they employ that are supposed to take care of clients that are health compromised.

I hired a live in caregiver from Towne for my father upon his discharge from the hospital. The home…read moreattendant, Edmund, was unhelpful, messy and not trustworthy. My father's longtime, part-time housekeeper needed to clean up after the home attendant, who left dishes unwashed, trash in the car, etc. The attendant would direct the housekeeper to clean up after him and do things that were part of his job. Most troubling, my father was seriously deconditioned from his hospital stay. We asked Edmund to keep a close eye on my dad, and Edmund had a whole spiel about how we cared too much for my dad but needed to give my dad space so he could learn to be independent. This allowed Edmund to spend most of the time in his room on his laptop, door closed, while my dad's housekeeper would fetch water and food for my father, help him to the toilet, empty his foley bag and check on his vitals. It was she who alerted us that something was wrong -- it turned out that my father had a serious infection and needed to return to the hospital, where he stayed for another month before discharge. I believe the home attendant would have left my father suffering and deteriorate for days. The people who run Towne make a great sales pitch but ultimately, I don't think they do a great job of vetting, and it's ultimately still up to you to interview and find the right caregiver.

Home Instead Senior Care used high pressure sales tactics on my single 86 year old mother to sign a…read morecontract. They were told by my mother that see wanted to try the service and see if it was a good fit. They charged $130 for a health care evaluation for there own baseline. They secured a security deposit for 2 weeks of service @ 8 hours per week 16 hours total. There home health care aid had no cooking skills, was not herself health conscious and provied little or no amenable care other than to chat up my mother @ $32/hr. After 4 days of 4 hours of service my mother decided it was not a good fit and called Home Instead to cancel services. 4 days latter they withdrew another 2 weeks pay out of my mothers account of which my mother had reversed. Then they then sued us in Superior Court for none payment. There was no phone call from Home Instead to discuss the matter or fined a resolution. This company was a predator and created a-lot of unnecessary stress when it can to my mother and our family!
