White Drug Employee Fired After Coworker Shared Private Picture of Employee to a Minor Co-Worker A White Drug employee in the Sydney, MT location was shocked when their employer terminated them. When asked the reason, the employee was told that a risqué adult picture of her and another employee was shown to a minor who also worked at the location. The terminated employee described what happened and stated that the picture was only intended "as a goof" that was sent to her Significant Other, and that there was nothing "really lewd" in the picture. And that it was "just two women being silly" and not intended to be shown to anyone else. The former employee stated that she was told by corporate management that, "she's expected to represent the White Drug company at all times." The employee apologized, but was still terminated. At this time, it is unclear if any employee of the store, or their corporate management had properly notified any authorities in regards to the picture that one of their employees were in potential violation of Montana State Law MCA 45-8-201. This law addresses obscene materials distributed to a minor under the age of 18. When asked for a comment, the former employee stated, "I'm totally humiliated, and I feel ostracized. The picture was not that big of a deal and we (the two people in the photo) were just goofing off, and it wasn't supposed to be sent to anyone except my boyfriend." She also stated in further conversation that she did not take the picture on her device, and did not know how or who sent the picture to the minor, but heard that an adult employee showed the picture to the minor. She also stated that she has gone to the authorities, the media, and plans to bring litigation towards the employees of White Drug and their corporation. She stated, "they've ruined my name and my reputation in this small town that I've grown to love so dearly. I am going to fight to set the record straight and have those that are responsible be held accountable." At this time, there has been no comment from White Drugs Corporate office to why proper authorities were not notified, and why the perpetrator that showed the picture to the minor has not been turned over to authorities. read more
