I have insurance but for some reason 3 hours after my assessment was done. No one had bothered to review it. Knowing your next use could be your last. This place seems to place the value of making money off the clients more than the clients actual well being. There seems to be no exchange of information between clinical staff also. read more

By NO means send a loved one to this so called rehab center. My wife was assaulted and her wedding set stolen at this place. She was transported to a local hospital and notification was never given to the family. No calls from management or staff. She was denied a phone call to myself. She required4 days in the critical Care Unit after a 9 day stay, then dumped heavily medicated in the front yard, Lawsuit pending!!! read more

Ive been to a couple treatment centers in NY, this was my first in PA.. I had a good experience. No one who has been junkin' wants to take a look at themselves. First of all they call unit 3 the projects for a reason! They have MHP & D&A patients mixed, big mistake. They don't have evening counselors to deal with the MHP. If you having a mental health issue in the evening they don't have anyone to attend to you, don't allow you to call someone, nor want to give you your property if you choose to leave. They give people meds they don't need & allow them to walk out with the meds & guess what they do? Yes, they sell it to other patients who want to get high! I volunteered & when I chose to leave the 2nd shift supervisor told me "I'm in charge & no you can't have your property nor make a phone call!" Then to add insult to injury she trespassed me from the property after coming back from calling my wife at the Sunoco a mile away because she asked me to go back and get my stuff & put a 48 hour hold on MY PERSONAL PROPERTY, had to leave with no phone & live in reading. I had to walk from Allenwood to Williamsport to take the greyhound bus, it took me 5 hours. My legs were swollen & in serious pain. The Insurance Carriers need to do a serious audit & send someone in undercover. 2 patients have already taken their own lives by hanging themselves, I wonder why! The icing on the cake is that i have to fkng go back & get MY PERSONAL property that should have been given to me when i asked to leave. These people are playing with fire, they are going to say no to the wrong person one day & they will have a serious problem. My lawyer is doing his homework on whether or not they broke the law by keeping my personal property when I (a volunteer), chose to leave & they refused to give me my property back so I could call my wife to pick me up. If you ask me that is THEFT! The bathrooms are DISGUSTING! The food is DISGUSTING! I went in weighing 150 & came out weighing 145. You would be better off living in the actual projects in NY than in that place. That place needs to be closed permanently! The only counselors with experience are Gino, Briana & Logan & they are not there during the evening. This is the only good thing I can say about that place. read more

I know I will probably get flack for this because I was never there. However, a lot of people I know were there and I am a great listener. Everyone who said it was good are still in recovery. That is because they really wanted it and are so happy with their lives now, they don't have time to leave a good review. People who leave bad reviews are angry and weren't taking their recovery seriously. Yes, I'm sure there are problems with staffing or cleanliness, but how clean were the places you were living before? It is what you make of it. There are good counselors and bad, but I was a full-blown heroin and crack user and any place I went was better than the trap houses I frequented. I have 9 years in recovery and am working as a Peer Advocate. If people want a 5 star spa experience, then you have to pay to go to those nicer rehabs. Recovery is recovery no matter how good the food is or how clean the floors are. Sorry for the rant. read more

I was both a patient and an employee here. They do not care about you in either position. You are looked at as a cash cow and your "recovery" will be acted out in the cheapest manner possible. Avoid at ALL costs. This is black mold that is in the detox kitchen. Yes, that janitor's style sink is YOUR kitchen for $750 a night! Look at the black mold on the wall. White Deer Run - Counseling & Mental Health Near Me - Allenwood, Pennsylvania

Very bad facility, I've been there multiple times and each time the facility got worse and worse. There is way to many people on each unit, about 60+ people for the men's units, the food is horrible, run by Aramark which is food they literally serve in jail... most people there are court mandated and they take New York insurance because you can smoke there most people go there. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy if you actually want help, the doctor you see in detox is literally like 85 years old and decrepit, it takes over 24 hours for you to get started on any detox meds, so yeahhhh uh good luck if you end up going there! read more

My friend was taken to Allenwood for court appointed drug treatment. She arrived at 9:30pm and did not get to bed until early morning, by 11 :00am she had a seizure and was taken to Lewisburg Hospital. Upon her release four days later , Allenwood facility claimed that she had completed her treatment and they did not need her back. They also said they had no record of her being a court appointed case. We went there to collect her belongings , which they had packed up and placed in the security "shack". Many items were missing; prescription eyeglasses, jacket, bible , court papers, photographs. I have called them six times since and no one will take my calls or return my messages. Very unsafe place with little security visible while we were there collecting my friends' belongings. read more

I went here because my doctor abruptly stopped prescribing my K-pin, c/t benzo withdraw, I had a dependence on the medication not an addiction, always took it as prescribed. DO NOT GO HERE!! I was left alone to lay in my own urine, my roommate was screamed at by staff for "puking". It was so dirty in the room and bathroom, food was so disgusting I wouldn't feed it to my dogs. I seen a doctor 1 time for 5 minutes, the nurses all ignored my cries for help, other staff just sat behind a glass window laughing and talking to each other. I went to use the phone to get the hell out of there, and a staff member screamed at me "get off the phone" thankfully I had got the call out and my friend immediately came, and took me to the ER, dehydrated, blood pressure was sky high, the doctor in the ER said white deer should be shut down!! read more

My sister was at this facility for one day and she described it as a prison. Said the workers told her she was not allowed to leave if she decided to (which is not true). She said someone was threatening to light the facility on fire and the staff did nothing about it, and the rest of the patients were mortified and saying to the staff that they did not feel safe, staff still didn't do anything. Patients throwing chairs and food around and once again staff does nothing. From all the reviews I have read, and from what my sister has told me from her experience the staff is the problem. Uncaring, lazy, rude people. The fact that these type of comments have been going on for years I see and this place is still open is disgusting. read more

If you want help for your loved one please do not send them here. The facility is consumed with COVID. They are taking zero precautions to stop the spread. As anyone who loves an addict we know that they are in an extremely fragile state of mind, not only from addiction but from a mental health standpoint as well. The staff are NOT qualified enough and have no clue as to what they are doing. The majority of staff are recovering addicts themselves which seems to be a standard practice in most government run rehabs such as this. I find it absurd that the former prisoners are running the prison...literally. When my daughter was there she contracted COVID and was moved to the COVID floor. During this time numerous outfits went missing, when the staff was informed she was told she shouldn't have got sick. Before that incident someone was caught stealing 2 packs of cigarettes and was allowed to remain. Sexual harassment was allowed to take place even after reported to staff. Autumn who has the title of "counselor" in particular seems to have a major chip on her shoulder. When I finally got in contact with her after weeks of leaving messages she was down right nasty to me, even calling me a liar. I had called to discuss my daughters after care plan and her options of where she could go after leaving this facility. She was extremely angry with my daughter and another young lady for making a statement she did not agree with (even though it is true) and from that time on she bullied my daughter relentlessly. I would go as far as to say she tried to sabotage her recovery. While other women heard back from after care placements they had put in for at the same time as my daughter, she was told that none of the 4 she had put in for contacted her back. She also falsely told her that there were no beds at another facility she wanted to transfer to when I had personally spoke with the place myself and was told they did indeed have beds but her counselor would have to initiate by calling them..she never did. In the end my daughter was discharged by Maylia (not sure of the spelling) because other staff and Autumn of course supposedly heard a small group saying that Autumn acted like a nazi. My daughter was the ONLY one to be kicked out of the facility even though witnesses said it was not her that actually made the statement. This is not our first song and dance but this is the first time experiencing such blatant bullying. Where there should be empathy because they have walked in the addicts shoes, it seems to be more of an attitude of superiority now that they are no longer at the bottom of the barrel. How easy it is to forget your one slip up away everyday. read more

This was the worst experience I ever had at a rehab center there are about 300 people there and they are so understaffed each house of girls which has about 35 girls each three to a bedroom only has about two staff working they don't have time to help you or help find you after care and they act like they don't care they try to take you off your meds I had to fight with them and told them I was leaving and the day I was supposed to leave they finally gave me my meds that I wanted they are hugely overpriced I have insurance but it shows that they charge $800 a day for each patient you share a room with two or three other girls it's not a five star place I can't imagine why they charge so much money there are way too many girls in each house and I'll be do is fight and talk about each other it's like high School they have a men's house but you're not allowed to talk to the man or else you get in trouble the only good thing I have to say is that it's really beautiful there they have nature hikes and there's deer and raccoons so the scenery is beautiful but I didn't get any help there they are not dual diagnosis I got no mental help at all I met some really nice people and I'm glad I'm not there anymore I went there because it was supposed to be the best drug rehab so I've been told by many people but do yourself a favor and find a different one because there's nothing good about White Deer Run read more

I guess different outcomes for different people. Going to rehab centers doesn't change the way the brain thinks. Rehab centers are to teach the tools to be successful when you leave. White Deer Run is a 30 day program. Anyone who picks up again after leaving, made that choice. The things I learned at White Deer Run, I actually applied to my life once leaving. EVERYTHING!!!! As far as meetings, sponsors, support groups, and especially changing people places and things. Its sad when a person picks up after being in a treatment facility. I have bben clean now for almost 13 months. It's been VERY hard. I take it one day at a time. My addiction will always be with me. I just have the choice to pick up or NOT! As far as drug and alcohol treatment facilities go, this one is highly under-staffed. Nothing is tailored personally to the needs of the client, and getting answers to any questions you have regarding or involving your treatment go unanswered, or at best take days to get a response. One staff member tells you to do one thing, and another something else. Not the best coordination of services. I was there for 7 days and still did not have even an initial treatment plan.
