Hi. I was a patient at First Hospital who was 302'd, that means I was an involuntary admittance for…read morea psychotic episode. I was violent and had to be restrained twice in the first 3 days. i ended up staying for 16 days, with the first few days being very rough for me mentally. I can honestly say that I am completely greatful for the treatment I received there. The staff, especially those who restrained me were absolutely professional. I was not hurt at all even while being restrained by 12 people. They were truly experts at their jobs. After my stay I left feeling like myself again. I want to thank Dr. Asif for working closely with me on my medication plan, helping me with not only my schizophrenia but also my anxiety and depression. I also want to thank all the nurses, therapists, food preppers, cleaning staff, techs and security (one of which I bit during a psychotic episode, sorry about that :/) who are very underappreciated for the work they do, and helped me 24/7, going out of their way many times to help me. Even after my schizophrenic episodes the staff did nothing but make me feel protected, being friendly and making me feel like I was a valuable member of society again. I apologize for the long ramble but the guys and gals at this hospital deserve respect and acknowledgement for the work they do. I am getting my life back because of them, and I have nothing but love, respect and admiration for what they do. I wish the hospital was better funded, added more healing activities like sports and was more taken of financially by the state government. Without this help I could have been hurt or even worse, I could have died. So thank you to all of the staff for making my stay a very productive and healthy one. We use UPMC as our…read moreprimary care physicians, my mother was sent to Wellspan for an x-ray requesting what views our PCP wanted. The technician came to us and said they had a call into our PCP office as the views were not WellSpan's protocol, we waited over 30 minutes to finally get x-rays done. Also, prior to this we had an ER visit and the Dr on call was definitely rude and non-caring to our needs. Stated that we should have gone to urgent care (which was closed) my mother was in a lot of pain and could hardly walk. At all cost we will definitely be avoiding WellSpan Evangelical in the future.

They asked her wife and she said YES pls make sure she's okay. They decided not to check on her and she died because they decided not to follow through on their operation. I went to school around here, I know the types of people that work here. They aren't nice, they just want money, none of them want to be doctors. And if I wasn't a literal child when this all happened I would've sued them or atleast tried them in court. Never go here, always go to bigger more competitive hospital. Not a hospital these people only work at because they refuse to leave the comfort of their small homes or didnt get into a bigger hospital. I entered my mother's hospital room and looked at her corpse, wondering how this could have happened. When her wife told me she told them to check and they didn't, i wasnt in the right space to understand that she was ultimately left to die alone in that room with no visitors. On their whim. Not a professional choice. Not the right choice, and if you let them they'll do the same exact thing to you. Never go here, if you want to live after your surgery.

I was there 4 hrs before I saw Dr Starr, who did NO exam. I have 2 herniated discs, and could not move. NO xrays or MRI's, didnt check my back, just said "its muscular issues". The P.A. seemed like I was an inconvenience to her schedule. The ONLY girl that was nice was a "tech" and she is the only reason I saw any Doctor. They tried to make her get me out of bed to pee. When she couldnt, she got the doctor asap. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!
