After much soul searching, I made the decision to move my life from Oregon to Seattle. Where I lived in Oregon was just not the right fit. But in order to pull off this significant life change at this time in my life, I needed an agent who LISTENDED POWERFULLY and deeply, who took the time to understand my situation, who comprehended my goals. I am a very precise person. I am a very plan-oriented person. I am a very goal-centric person. I had a VISION and a PLAN for how this transition to Seattle would work. From the day we spent looking at properties in Seattle--ones she carefully hand-picked to expose me to various areas of the city--to the re-assurance she provided to me over the phone during weekends and odd hours, working with my schedule From the calm aplomb she demonstrated when I realized that we were initially looking at too high a price point, and the way that she scaled back our search without losing out on quality, without giving up on my needs in a property; to the way she negotiated during the offer process obtaining a purchase price that was well over $75,000 less than the asking price She was BRILLIANT, supportive, WONDERFUL as my agent. And I'm confident that she is that way for her other clients as well. I almost cried from sheer joy and exhaustion when we closed on my quirky duplex in West Seattle. Like me and like my situation, it was quirky--PERFECT, just PERFECT for me. It literally met all of the objectives that I had discussed with Diane from that initial conversation. I drove the day after closing from Eugene to Seattle to "camp out" with a sleeping bag and pillow in my new home in the Emerald City. I would not arrive until 3 in the morning. The drive was exhausting. But it was worth it to me to have this dream now coming to fruition. And Diane asked me a question early in my drive: "Congratulations, Chris. My heart filled with joy, overwhelm and pure HAPPINESS. Coffee Mug in Seahawks colors--large enough for my favorite coffee drink, which Diane had memorized A Motivational Candle--calling me a "Bad Ass Homeowner" because I would like to fancy myself that way with the blood, sweat and tears I put in to make this dream happen Cat Toys--For my two little kitties, who I told Diane had to be in a "safe, quiet neighborhood," so they could go on outdoor adventures An Owl Cookie Jar and matching Owl Salt and Pepper Shakers--something personal between me and Diane, but it showed her commendable attention to detail and FOLLOW THROUGH so uncommon in today's world And yes. . . He proved to us that he would SELL our home, and not just list it. He was extremely knowledgeable of the area, demographics, and real estate climate.
