We do not live in Utah and made three trips over the summer to get our P2's, A lot of instructors might have signed us off after one trip and I am really glad that Pat did not do this. He made sure that we were solid P2 pilots before signing us off. On our last trip that year the south side launch was closed and Pat drove us to flying sites hours away from Salt Lake to make sure we got the most out of the trip.

At every point, we could tell that Patrick and his colleague were dedicated to maximizing our fun and flight time, rather than taking our money. Patrick's tremendous amount of experience and clear attention to safety is reassuring, and he is one of those guys that you'll want to have a beer with after your flight. If you pass through the Salt Lake area, you've gotta give paragliding a try, and Point of the Mountain is the best way to do it.

I recently purchased a new wing that I thought was the perfect fit for me. However, after flying it a few times I regrettably changed my mind. When I expressed my concerns to Super Fly they were not only understanding, but they made it a breeze to switch it out for a wing I was more comfortable flying. I highly recommend Super Fly to anyone who is interested in buying gear and/or learning more about paragliding.

Nice Sky Adventures were very accommodating to our group of five. It's kind of a gamble because you have to have ideal wind conditions, and when we went it wasn't the MOST perfect of days. So we were given three options: come back a different day, wait and see if it gets better, or still go but the ride would be shorter. Since we are not from around here, we decided to go and make the most out of it! We had Alex and Chris, who were both wonderful pilots and easy to chat with. If you're feeling at all nervous--KNOCK IT OFF. Because these homies know what they've been doing and they've been doing this for years and years. So just go! Go and enjoy your day, enjoy the friendships you'll make, and enjoy the freedom you'll feel while paragliding! TIPS & TRICKS: * If you love it as much as I did, ask them about becoming a pilot yourself. They actually travel the world during the winter and teach others how to fly--so, what do you say? * Bring good tennis shoes because you will be running off the side of a mountain. Also bring a comfortable jacket and wear thermals under your jeans (if you go in the morning at 8AM, like we did). They also have you wear a helmet, so don't put your hair in a nice top knot, because it will become a top NOT. * Practice taking some selfies on a GoPro--you'll definitely want to get some fun and better angles with your chute in the background. * Have fun and practice your smile, because you'll definitely be doing a lot of it.

Came here to get my private pilot and almost finished, CFI went to the airlines, and others took up my training. Thats when things really went to crap. No one knew what a correct log book looked like, re did tons of training, scheduled a check ride and the DPE didn't even start the ride. My log books that were cleared by the CFI (which he charged me to review) were not acceptable to the DPE, he took my $800 and didn't even start the ride. The CFI instead of apologizing acted like I had really messed up because I was supposed to do his job for him apparently. Nothing but ego and pride letting these 23 year olds run the fixed wing show. The power trips that they got on with me was terrible. I am a very mellow, easy to get along with guy but they frustrated me. Told my story to 4 other CFI's and they all said the same thing "that sounds like a true horror story, you got screwed" Paid Platinum $15k, I got upset at the botched check ride meeting, and they said I was belligerent and kicked me out of the school with no refunds offered. I literally had no trouble at all up until check ride day. Super disappointing. I have hired a new CFI and have to go to another airport. The new guys are awesome and offered me a discount because they couldn't believe I was treated so poorly at Platinum. Hire the helicopters with Platinum, Gary is ethical, but stay away from fixed wing!
